After dealing with the horrible service at #AmericanHomeShield I'm canceling and moving to #SelectHomeWarranty They're a little cheaper but the biggest benefit is being able to select your own vendor. USA Plumbing will not be recommended to anyone. I wish I had taken a pick of the water puddle the tech left in my garage from hauling the old unit off. If this is the kind of work their Lead Plumber leaves behind, I can only imagine what he's taught their junior plumbers. Read all of the reviews. The owner's declaration on their page should have been a red light. I'd think twice. I'm hoping race wasn't a factor but I'm hard pressed to believe otherwise.

Made a claim with my warranty company for my disposal that wasn't working. USA plumbing was assigned the job. Took 2 days for them to contact me about the job and another 8 days before it was installed. Wasn't too concerned about the delay as it wasn't something I absolutely needed fixed immediately. Technician came and installed it quickly and left. After he left I noticed large bloody fingerprints on my sink as well as under the sink on the floor of the cabinet. Come on man clean up after yourself.... Now I just hope the thing works.

Michael, from USA PLUMBING was awesome, fast, & Professional and had awesome customer service, HE installed a new toliet, that had been defective. Sincerely, John Oliveri

My home warranty assigned USA plumbing for garbage disposal and bathroom faucet repair. Justin was the guy who initially came to fix the issues. He temporarily fixed the faucet thats spreading water all over sink. The same issue occurred again and he came back and mentioned he will replace the aerator and came after 2 weeks and fixed the aerator. Regarding garbage disposal not working, Justin unjammed it with wrench and left. He gave me a wrench to do it every-time it happens. We asked him to replace, but he keeps saying it cant be replaced until its completely jammed and left. I unjammed multiple times with wrench to get it working. Eventually, it became so tight, even its harder using a wrench to unjam it. Now a new technician Paul arrived and replaced the garbage disposal, but he FORGOT the connection to Dishwasher and left. Once we turned on dishwasher, there is flood of water all over my wooden kitchen floor. I called these guys the evening same day, but they keep saying as its end of the day, there is no backup and the lady keeps arguing thats nothing to do with them. It costed us considerable amount of time and effort to drain the area under sink/wooden floors/dining area/kitchen mats. Not sure if any damage occured to the wall under the sink. Next day the Paul came and keeps saying that a screw to connect both worn out and the tube fell off, which he should have noticed when replacing the unit. Need to go back and forth from office to home, each time to get it fixed, causing us huge pain & discomfort. A mere 15-20 min job of replacing took almost 2.5 months and number of calls between home warranty & USA plumbing. Totally disappointed.

New water heater - note the pipe cut up top (easy removal).

I have a warranty for my Walnut Creek Home and my water heater went out,. I contacted my warranty company, they confirmed it was covered. Ray came out and looked at it, confirmed the need to replace and said he would submit the paperwork to Warranty for approval. What I received was "coverage" but he tacked on 7 separate items which fell out of warranty and totaled almost $1500. So I had a friend from outside area (he owns his own plumbing company) to review the items listed and he confirmed of the 7, only 1 arguably should have been there (an old pipe might possibly get in the way), he didnt see why it should be over $100 to cut the inactive pipe and the other 6 items listed were excessive charges. I called USA plumbing scheduler and she was incredibly rude. They also screwed me by listing the water heater pricing at $615 (meaning thats the max I can get refunded by my Warranty company); I asked can they seriously do water heaters at $615 she said yes, but stuck by the additional $1500 in 7 tack-on charges. In fairness Ray was a nice enough guy but it almost makes it worse he would try to do that, and the scheduler/call-in receptionist was horrendously rude - like on another level. Picture of my new water heater but you judge for yourself if additional charges were necessary - note that the inactive pipe up top we just cut it off to clear more room for install, and that's because I went with a max size water heater. Took about 75 minutes.

During that time, I had broken some copper fitting pipe parts underneath the sink so I did not put them back together to make sure it worked. Luckily, things happened for a reason so I bought new hard plastic pipes to replace everything but water was still slowly flowing out of my dual kitchen sink. I remembered the person who did the snake mentioned it might be time to get a new mainline pipe which meant breaking the walls and slab since I don't have a crawl space equating to 15-20K or an epoxy pipe lining to make it good as new again for 8K; I have no money for any of that so I googled "best ways to unclog a kitchen sink if 75ft snake fails" and was recommended hydro-jetting from AI. I then searched hydro-jetting Livermore and was recommended Diablo Hydro-Jetting immediately on my mobile phone where I was able to view both their website and Yelp reviews before calling 925-277-0200 on a Sunday evening. Fortunately, Jeff answered my call even while eating dinner who reassured me that he was 100% sure that my kitchen sink can be unclogged since they can blast it up to 500ft and if there were to be any complications that the competitive pricing comes with the drain inspection camera as needed. I truly appreciate Jeff's Team; Jose and Alex for taking on this difficult task. Jose was hydro-jetting my kitchen sink while communicating with Alex who was controlling the unit by the van. Initially, Jose and I feared that the black sludge would appear since pushing water with water and it was in fact what had happened where it was caught in a big metal container underneath the kitchen sink. Jose immediate told Alex to turn off the unit and requested to get the portable compact hydro-jet vac to clean out the container before resetting then restarting a 2nd time from the top with the vac on to catch everything as it goes. Then with some luck, we were able to hear the water flowing after it was unclogged, the sound of success! Jose then proceeded to check my cleanout area which was located outside of my house, opened it and made sure that the same sound we heard in the kitchen was heard there as well. And to ensure that my kitchen pipes were clean, Jose went ahead and did the hydro-jetting a couple more times just in case and even had Alex bring cleaning solutions to help wipe away some black sludge that flew to the side of the cabinet wall. The whole process took about 1hr and the invoice has a limited 90day service warranty guaranteeing against future clogs from reoccurring. This was the best investment I made highly recommended and I am very grateful for Jeff, Jose and Alex; they never upsold me anything and they truly are professionals in the field strictly hydro-jetting and nothing else, established in 1994 with over 32yrs of experience! Thank you once again Jeff from Gordon, my kitchen sink is flowing like Jeff Gordon the NASCAR champ!

My nightmare started when I received an email alert from ACWD about 24-hr continuous water usage as recorded by the water meter suggesting a leak. While i am positive the leak is outdoors, there was no wet spots to be seen. And the leak progressively got worse and worse and went from 7+gal /hr (threshold ACWD use for alerts) eventually to 90+gal/hr just over 3 days. My path back to happiness & serenity began first with a kind ACWD staff member who came to check on the meter to rule out problems on their end and helped pointed out the suspected leak location around the meter (which is next to a lovely, yet evil tree..). After a scheduled leak detection company re-confirmed the spot, Khan's team responded quickly to provide an estimate and was able to quickly work on it. They dug up the area and efficiently repaired two issues: a larger leak in the fire sprinkler line (90+gal / hr) and a smaller, long-term leak (3 gallons/hour) in the house main line that had been draining for over a year. Now my usage report is clean with 0 usage when no water use in house. Khan and his team are professional, fair, prompt, and a true pleasure to work with. They cut out the tree roots causing the issue and replaced the cracked PVC pipes with durable copper lines built to last. I highly recommend their services and absolutely loved their positive and friendly attitude. Would definitely love to work with them again, and glad they are located close to where i live!

The details: I called Martin after a clog removal by another company went sideways (probably the topic of a no star review in the future). The first company identified where the problem was, but also caused a spill of sewage inside the house, then quoted me $5k to dig up the pipe and really fix the problem. To no one's surprise, I wasn't happy. So I called AHJ for a second opinion, and Martin answered the call. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, asking me detailed questions about the problem, and explaining my options (the other company did none of that). He made no guarantees, but said he thought he could solve the problem, so I asked him to have a look. He was at my house within 3 hours. The line had two objects stuck inside, causing backups. Martin worked to jet out one of the objects out, then used a camera to inspect the entire 80 ft. length of the pipe. The second object was still there, though, and it looked like digging was the only option. However, this is where the real magic happened! The second object was about 12 ft from the clean out, and it was not budging. Martin, however, thinks outside the box. He got out a large shop vac and stuffed the hose down the line. With the help of his camera he aligned the end of the hose with the obstruction and started up the vacuum. It took a while and was not easy work, but Martin eventually pulled out a 8" long, 2 lb. solid steel spring! That's no exaggeration (How that got in there I'll never know). It was Amazing! He also documented everything with his camera and thoroughly explained everything that we could see. So, I now know all about the good, and the bad, of my main sewer line, should any future problem arise. Thank you, Martin, for the exceptional service!
