Here is the opening, I could see a little insulation above, but none below..

Had the house insulated in 2018. I have an A frame with very little wall space, mostly windows, roof and concrete walls. I too waited a couple seasons to see what savings there would unfortunately I should have paid attention to the fact that most of your heat radiates through you roof. I believe it did help with some of the small leaks around outlets and switches, but most recently I opened an existing outlet and removed the box and found "NO" insulation below the outlet opening. Based on the cost of $4000 I may save $100 a year? Only takes 40 years to recoup your investment. $99 a month..how many years?Dont fall for it!

Contract clearly showing the direction to insulate the ceiling of the garage.

I was a bit frustrated because they were offering cookie cutter solutions/services without really identifying the issue(s) causing the extreme cold. I called Dr Energy Service (DES) and was fortunate to have the owner, Chris Shepard come out and provide an energy audit. As you can imagine with the age of our home, he discovered there is no insulation in the walls, ceilings of the 1st floor and to make matters worse, our furnace is located in the attic, which means the solution must push heat down to the lower level! This is a unique situation which called for unconventional solutions. Chris listened, educated , and offered budget friendly options, including those that did NOT use their services. He was a man of integrity, patience, and knowledge. We were very cold, and he could have taken advantage of the situation and sold us all kinds of services; but he didn't! That spoke volumes and this year I called him back and together we determined a plan of action to warm our home. On 12/31, the crew (Jordan, Tyler, Cameron, Brayden, and Jake) came out to perform the work. The guys were punctual (8:15am), professional, courteous, and worked non stop the get the work completed in a timely manner. They kept me in the loop of the work planned and a few minor changes to the plan, that often come with an older home. They cleaned up, actually left things cleaner than when they started (Don't judge me lol) I am extremely happy and I highly recommend DES and hopefully when you book your project(s), you will be lucky to have the awesome crew I had at your home.

The communication throughout was great, and they took their time explaining the process and the why behind all the steps they would take. Harrison and the team took fantastic care of our home during the repair and install day. Covering the floor with paper, cleaning up (including mopping) their way out, and thorough documentation of their work. Highly recommend Dr. Energy Savers for any insulation project

The crew was friendly and professional. The second day the attic was sealed and the new cellulose insulation was blown in. I also had them do an exterior wall of the garage for a little more warmth out there. Again, this crew was friendly and professional as well. They cleaned up in the garage and even put my shelves back in place for me. I am very happy with the company and will recommend them to others!

He m,emetic nail pop and nothing else. I waited, and did not accept the non-response well. I called the company and expressed my concern that the worker seemed non-chaalant about what happened, and wondered if Pro-Safe would take care of it. Immediately I heard, the contract states we are not responsible for 'mail pops and other consequential" damages. I asked to hear from the owner. Jeff called and immediately went on offense about how dare I insinuate his company was not reputable and so on...although I dont believe I insisted such. Again he mentioned that Pro-Safe was not responsible for nail pops...that stuff happens. Mind your, at this point, no one looked at the ceiling from the inside. He simply defended that his guys stepped on a beam causing a nail pop. Hang in there...photos to follow. Finally, one of his guys looked at the damage and agreed...a bit more than a nail pop. He proceeded to tell me that something gave way in the attic, a guy lost his balance and stepped on the ceiling. He caught himself but the weight bowed and cracked the ceiling. Accidents happen. Jeff and I talked again, both a bit calmer. He agreed to send a guy out to repair the ceiling and agreed to take the bill. The drywall person Jeff sent was excellent. However, there is only so much one can do on a ceiling repair without painting the entire ceiling. So, while the damage is gone, the mismatch remains. Lessons here for me: Stay calm, even when the owner is not. Convince them to assess before citing contract language. For the owner: Get facts first...all the facts. Before you cite a routine nail pop, someone should assess. Expect owners to get excited when one of your guys nearly comes through the ceiling. Bottom line: Workers were efficient, got the job done in a few hours. Not sure if I'll see an ROI but that is what happens with insulation...you hope for improved comfort. All in all, would have been much better without the damage.

Our third floor had been finished but not insulated, resulting in some very steep energy bills in the summer and winter, not to mention many sweaty/frigid days. Lewis was very patient with me as I explored my options, made some very helpful recommendations for other projects around the house, and provided the most reasonable price. He provided plenty of details about what his team would do without being overwhelming, and answered all questions I had. The team was in and out in less than a day, with very minimal modifications made (just a few access holes cut out), and were very professional in their work. Just with adding insulation on the 3rd floor, the entire house feels much more regulated temperature-wise, and I'm sure the energy bills will reflect the upgrades very soon. I will certainly be reaching out to them again for future insulation and energy-saving projects.

I was directed to this company from Duke Energy. I had been needing to get insulation added into my…read moreattic for a while now. My house was built in the 1950's and the insulation in the attic must have been the original. It was barely there. This company came in and did an assessment that was both thorough and quick. I was walked through everything that was recommended and was sent a quote via e-mail. The company does give you a discount if you sign the estimate within 10 days. I knew this project was desperately needed, so I signed immediately since the price was great. I have had several companies come into my home a few years ago with quotes that were significantly higher than what I was quoted by Sustainergy in October 2021. On install day, there were 2 workers who came in and worked very quickly to get the job done. They asked permission before completing a lot of the tasks (like opening a window, etc.). Very appreciative of the service! Both worked at my two separate attic entrances quite effectively and about half way through mentioned that my bathroom ventilation was damaged. They were able to call in and add it to my invoice and repair it right away! Loved that! They had protective barriers laid out to protect the floors. However, there was a bit of a dust layer left over on all my furniture after they left (to be expected), but it cleaned up easily with the vacuum and soap/water. As of December 13, 2021, over a month since the install - my house has definitely retained the heat and my furnace does not run nearly as much! My November bill was $60 less than it was last year! Thank you!!! Highly recommend!

I got a quote from them in 2019. My granddaughter was diagnosed with cancer shortly after this,…read morethen Covid hit so insulation priorities weren't so important. I finally requested a new quote this spring. The exact same job I was quoted in 2019 was almost 3X higher! That's 3X in six years! Original quote was $1800 in Feb 2019, new quote was $5300 for the exact same thing. So I did some research to see if I was over reacting. I reached out to ChatGPT to see if labor and material costs had increased enough to justify the new price. It said no way! No, the $5,300 quote is not fair. If: The scope hasn't changed The spray foam type and thickness are the same They never came out to remeasure The original 2019 quote was $1,800 Then jumping to $5,300 (an almost 300% increase of the original cost) is well beyond reasonable, even accounting for: 45% material increases 20-30% labor cost hikes Higher fuel and insurance costs What Would Be Fair? Using the 2019 price as a base: Factor Estimate Increase Adjusted Price Materials (open-cell) ~45% ~$2,610 Labor/overhead/fuel/etc. ~30% ~$3,400 max A reasonable 2025 price: $2,800-$3,400 Not $5,300. So I checked Gemini and Grok AI engines to make sure I covered all bases. They confirmed that the the price increase was unjustified. Grok said: The nearly 300% increase exceeds general inflation (~20-30% from 2019-2025) and construction cost trends (~40-50% per Turner Building Cost Index). Insulation-specific increases (50-100%) suggest a $1,800 job in 2019 should cost $2,700-$3,600 in 2025. Gemini said: a near 300% increase (from $1,800 to $5,300) in 6 years is at the very high end of what might be considered justifiable given the market conditions. Increases of 50-100% (or even up to 150%) for some materials and services over that period have been seen, but 300% is extreme. Given the ridiculous price increase, I would be very leery of using them based on their pricing model. As all 3 AI engines suggested, Get Multiple Quotes: Contact 2-3 local contractors for competitive bids.
