Once they arrived for the job, the foreman "hadn't even spoken" once to the owners about the job and the foreman seemed confused about what work to perform. I wrote a quick email message to Christine at McEachern and she became argumentative (this wasn't the first time). Basically, they did a HORRIBLE job smearing silicone over painted cedar shingles, left a huge mess for me to clean off and then took off. Before they even came, they wanted me to put a box vent on a small portion of my roof (the main roof has a ridge vent). So, I was forced to hire a roofer to put a ridge vent in, which cost me $1,000. Run. Run away from McEachern, even though they've been doing this for years.

The crew arrived late and began the job. 4 hours go by and the lead guy is talking about it coming back the next day because he had a job in Dover MA that he needed to attend to. I informed him that he needed to come back tomorrow and complete the job. He arrived next day and I watch as him and his partner rush through the job. He leaves holes in walls, my garage is full of insulation materials that he didn't blow in correctly, they failed to address a back wall (I have cameras there) although he tried to lie until I pointed out the cameras. All in all they did a terrible job. 2 days later the pipe that was supposed to be insulated froze and cost me $250 to have it repaired. I called the office and reported what happened and basically got the runaround. Eventually, they sent out a second group who noted several inconsistencies in the job that was supposed to have been completed. At this point, I realized that I no longer wanted them back up my home because if you lied to me the first time you'll lie to me the second and third time. I contacted the office again and I asked them to give me back some of my money so I could hire a company to complete the work that they did not do that is verified by their own second team contractors. We've been playing this game for the past four months. I contacted Adobe the company that hires homework and to date I have not gotten any satisfaction. I read the reviews on homework energy into my surprise or Betty yet to no one's surprise, they are the worst company out there. They do half ass jobs and when you call to complaint they give you the runaround.

I have been building super insulated homes since the mid-70s. 10 inch offset stud walls with 18+" Fiberglas insulation in ceilings with six mill poly vapor barrier all seems taped. Fiberglass cannot compete with foam in the slightest. We were one of the first builders to use rigid foam insulation below ground. They came out and did a stellar job on my own home and greatly reduced my heating bills. I replaced the aging insulation in my attic that was 18 inches thick with an envelope-based foam system in the rafters. They did a really nice job thermally bridging all of the rafters. This greatly increased the amount of usable space and will have a large impact on our AC bill and the longevity of our roof as well. They were very careful with everything. They made sure all the foam had a great contact to sill plates and other very critical areas for air leakage. They did a great job on all the hard and tight areas. Extremely professional and courteous, all overspray areas were carefully sealed and taped off. The crawlspace into a cathedral ceiling was extremely tight. They did a fantastic job getting up there and sealing it extremely well. My HVAC guy said he had never seen a home foamed so well. I could feel the difference in the home immediately. Highly recommended. I would honestly not use anyone else. Especially because any questionable area has always been carefully taken care of without any problems. Sol personally inspects each job before and after. And he's a nice guy. :-)

Then he came back and repaired the area that we had to hunt around in. He also touched up areas around the windows as well. We would use them again. I had really high hopes that the cause of my moisture issue in my attic would be discovered and…read morerectified with the help of MassSave and Graham built. Despite insulation taken out, baffles cleared out, sealing performed, bathroom vents replaced- I still have high humidity/moisture in my attic. Per my suggestion a lower roof vent was installed that would kick on if humidity reached 60% in my attic. Since heat is still escaping into my attic somehow, my roof vent had been on continuously since December making for electric bills to be about $100+ more a month with an average of 90% humidity in my attic. In aside note, the men were hard workers and did the work that was outlined. Just didn't get the results.

They came to my house and did a walk-through before the work started and failed to mention where outside access for insulation wouldn't be possible, e.g., wiring from the pole blocking bays. If they had said this, we could have looked at blowing insulation from the inside for those bays, but they failed to disclose this and left my house with missing insulation. 2. They failed to properly reinstall some of the siding, causing it to fall off within weeks of the work. (I have a box of new siding, so if the issue were it being old, then better communication (again) would have been the way to go) 3. When contacted, they said they would return to fix the siding but never did. The siding in question was on the 2nd floor, and at my age, I try to avoid ladders, so I ended up paying $350 to another company for them to correct the issue. FYI. I went through MASS Saves, and they recommended this company, so if you contact MA Saves, I would see if they have other contractors.

Rogers Insulation was the company selected by Mass Save following a home energy report. Our…read moreexperience was mixed, with the office and some of the workers really seeming top notch. The negative we had was the project leader for the day of work seemed to have cut corners in several places. It started with not all of the work being done that was on the invoice. The office believed me and sent out a worker to check and they validated the work was not done that was in the invoice. When Mass Save came to inspect the work, they also found the light covers were not installed correctly. All and all, it required 4 visits to complete the work for a variety of reasons.

When the work was completed, our Building Inspector flagged the work for an insufficient amount of blown-in insulation. Months passed. When Rogers came back for the re-do, they didn't bring enough tubing to reach the attic opening, so they had to go back to Framingham to get more. This despite the fact that the company had already done work here previously, and should have known how much tubing was needed. In the end, the job was done correctly, per the Building Inspector, but the process required more of my time and attention than it should have, with appointments and phone calls. Also without the Building Inspection, we would not have know that insufficient insulation had been installed.
