Made the accidental mistake of going into their store with a UPS labeled package to send out. Samuel greeted me instantly with an attitude and condescending tone. Got it, I made a mistake. I said what a waste of time and left. As I was walking out he shouted saying it's not my fault very defensively. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. I admit the mistake was mine. Unfortunately, I was greeted, interacted, and treated with an zero decency. The employees' actions (Samuel) were concerning and questionable. We have maintained this same PO Box address for TWENTY-FOUR years. Prior to the end of last year, our packages were delivered either to our PO Box or our physical address in the same zip code. During the last holiday season, ALL of our online purchases (gifts) were returned to various senders---just in time for the holidays. Twice, we discussed this issue then with the persons behind the counter; twice we were told that our PO Box address would need to list 10503 Creek St, and then to include the POB number. It would have been good to have known this earlier, as nothing in our account had changed since 2001. Last month, our first online package, with the new address, arrived without a problem. The proof that this worked. But no, the second delivery of this year has been returned to sender, just like in December. WTF!!! Their reason states, "moved". We contacted the Postmaster General for this region. After a very polite email, the response was, "deal with your problem at your local post office". Thus far, we are lucky that we are not relying on this service for life saving medications. Our frustration is overwhelming. We hope we are not the only hostage to this office's ineptitude. This one takes the cake! I have always had patience and understanding for our local post office. I am officially no longer able to be understanding of their actions. I received a label taped to a piece of computer paper that clearly was not attached to the box any longer. You can visually see that it was no longer attached. Please see pictures. They took the time to scan the label as a "received package" and sent it on through. Had the wherewithal to attach a written note stating "this is the only portion of your parcel that arrived", took the time to deliver what is clearly not a package and placed it in my mailbox as a "package received". I imagine that if I was a postal service person I would see that package and say there is something wrong with this. No thought went into receiving this package. This is concerning. How many other people have to receive a label with no package for someone at our post office, to see there is something wrong and realizes someone is committing a FEDERAL CRIME of tampering with US MAIL. have not found a way yet to talk to a human being on the phone. My neighbor half a mile down the road keeps letting me know she has my packages. One package note says undeliverable because of a dog. I don't even have a dog in the fromt, but she does. I cannot wrap my brain around how they cannot seem to deliver mail correctly. I have three different peoples names that get delivered to my house and I literally never get my own packages sent to me with the correct address on the label. i'm glad some people have good experiences, but in the past 20 years, I have had nothing but problems. Last time this year they withheld my mail for a month and a half, which of course included other peoples mail. It did not belong to me because a number fell off of my mailbox. first of all that's illegal and they're withholding other peoples mail because they can't deliver correctly. Been going here for almost 4 years now. Had a HOST of problems. The last straw was being chased out the door, being screamed at and threatened with physical violence by an unstable employee, being falsely accused of assaulting an employee (are you kidding?) AND having my box illegally closed without notice when it was fully paid - in retaliation. It all started when I had the last of my MANY missing "delivered" packages (wrongly scanned as usual) and asked the girl at the package door to look for it. She looked for 20 seconds in the small package bins only... and couldn't find it. She told me to just ask the sender to send me another item (great solution, right?) I tried to ask her to please look on the shelves for my item, because I didn't know the size of the package, but she got mad and called her famously-grumpy, disgruntled coworker over saying she couldn't deal with me. I wasn't even mad I was just trying to finish my sentence to ask her to look for my package once more. The girl kept yelling at me. Grumpy Pants coworker came over, stuck her hand in front of my face so close I could have licked her dirty hand, she told me to "shut up" and then proceeded to shut the barn doors IN MY FACE saying, "we can't help you, we can't help you..." Both of them walked away to the left. Grumpy Pants went back to her cash register and the other girl went back to a staging area. I tossed the scrap of paper I had written my tracking number on through the tiny opening in the barn door that got shut in my face. The angle was to the RIGHT... the total opposite of where Grumpy Pants and Screaming Girl walked. Grumpy Pants then yelled, "you just assaulted a federal employee!" I just kept walking out the door calmly and silently. Then Grumpy Pants yelled, "don't ever come back!" I continued out the double doors and heard screaming behind me, turned around, and Screaming Girl had followed me out the door and was screaming at me and the only words I caught were "I'm gonna beat your ass!" I didn't say anything, I just turned around and kept walking to my car. They closed my box that was fully paid for the next few months. And I sent my friend in to get my missing package... she walked right out with it. It was there the entire time. She said the girl who helped her even took her phone number for another package she couldn't find and was going to call her when she found it. That's customer service. Then I did some digging and found all the horrible reviews on Facebook about Grumpy Pants and her harassment of customers dating back years. She's closed the barn door in other people's faces rudely and pulled the same nonsense with other people. Then I found a video that showed Grumpy Pants not only filing a false police report against a person (and lying to police - the video proves she lied) but Grumpy Pants got in her car and followed that person, stalked her, and waited for her to get back to the car and was yelling slurs at them. I won't even go into the other issues I've had with this post office. All the other reviews are just repeats of the same problems. I am happy to pay a 50% markup at UPS to mail everything and to have a private mailbox. The great thing about UPS is their boxes are twice as expensive, but the people are always amazing and very friendly. The UPS store just changed owners, too, so they are fixing the strange numbering and adding even MORE mailboxes. Take your business to UPS, I promise you, you will be completely taken care of! They even hold packages for a loooong period of time and you'll get an email when a package arrives. I used to work for a mail center, I know the game. These people don't play by the rules and I've called them on their lies many times and they think I'm just some bloke who has no idea how it works. They lie to get out of having to do any work. Oh, I can't forget to add that when my mail was being stolen from my house I filled out the form to have my mail put on hold. A month later I went to pick up my mail on hold and they didn't have my mail - the hold was never processed. The thief had been taking my mail for a month. They had drilled out my lock and replaced it with their lock. I drilled out their lock and the thief replaced it again with a steel lock I broke 2 drill bits trying to remove. I had to call a friend with a more powerful drill and it took ten minutes to get that lock off. All the while, the thief was getting my mail thanks to the incompetence of the post office. I could share more ridiculous stories, but I think that's enough for now. I'm not in Kansas anymore, Fred. Beam me up, Scotty. I've landed on the wrong planet. This is one of the most dated and behind the times post offices I have been too, they are lacking basic supplies and where you ask for other supplies I.e.. labels I was informed "we don't give them to customers just write in the box" this need a major upgrade and is a far far fall from the post office I am use too. Wish I could give no stars, love my postman, and the lady who helps inside but other than that I'm about ready to switch to a PO Box in Roy! If I have any deliveries on Sunday it is misdelivered and nothing has been done about it. I was even told the GPS on the truck said it was properly delivered, insinuating I was the liar...we live in duplexes and the truck parks in one spot, plus I've had neighbors bring them over. The manager could care less and all I get each time is "I will talk to the Sunday driver". Love the ladies there! We make 3+ trips every week to mail out products for my business and they are always friendly to myself and my son. Sometimes the wait is a little long, but it's understandable when you have a line and only 2 cashiers. The lawn is always maintained, and the building is always clean. I have never had any issues with the staff when we go in. We did have a hiccup with our mailman giving us mail that wasn't ours and loosing some of our mail, but the postmaster was very polite and helped get our mail and took the mail that wasn't ours. read more

This is the worst postal servers we have ever had. In 12 years I am not sure they have ever gotten anything right. Today was the latest. Left slip in the box that they could not deliver. Yep not on the door but in the lock box and we were home so did not even try. Mail is constantly delivered incorrectly, post office employees are nasty if you go in for help. Don't even try the phone as they will tell you they don't have the time for you and the postmaster is a joke at getting anything fixed. I was buying a stamp, I remembered times stamps were less years ago. Then another cashier referred to my weight. I notice this when a another customer said she was savage for what she said to me. I was being nice. I am heavy set woman, so it is offensive. Clearly she and her other cashier have no customers experience. You think these elder woman would know how to do their job. They talked the whole time after that as I wait for a stamp with a long line behind me. Now I see why so many reviews do not like this post office. I was having a good day too until this happened. The old saying goes if you got nothing nice to say, don't say it. They should be grateful to have a job, there are many that do not. Go as early as you can. The closer you get to lunch and on, the more miserable it is. As far as mail delivery goes, my neighborhood uses community boxes, and we constantly receive our neighbors mail and vise versa. Where do I begin... I received two packaging slips in my mail box today which I was anxiously waiting for as they were instant pots to be given as Christmas gifts. Upon attempting to pick up my packages I was told that I needed to pay over $60 if I wanted both of them. This was not a collect on delivery order, rather a Christmas order placed on December 8th, 2017. The mail clerk proceeded to tell me that the shipping originator (Military Aafes Exchange) did not provide the appropriate shipping therefore it was MY responsibility. Might I add that I was not charged for shipping as it was waived due to meeting the requirement for free shipping by Aafes Exchange. I very politely asked for an exception as this was not noticed beforehand by the USPS therefore was not my error. She, Darlene proceeded to say that I would either pay the "reduced, and lowest cost" shipping or they would send it back. She showed extreme unprofessionalism throughout our conversation. I stated that this shipping was a paid service by Aafes Exchange, and therefore should have been collected appropriately prior to the shipping taking place, as well as providing slips stating that my packages were "ready for pick up." It was very clear that Darlene was not willing to cooperate with me over the phone. She then called me "honey" and hung up on me. I am appalled at the actions received by the Yelm Post Office, and especially the way I was disrespected by Darlene. Poor customer service does not begin to cover this interaction, rather disrespect for human kind especially this holiday season. read more

Been using this post office for a few months now and even for a government run business, it's surprisingly awful. Most notably is how long it takes them to have a package sorted for pick up. On average it takes 2 business days after a package arrives before I can actually pick it up. More than once it's taken 3+ days. A couple staff members have been surprisingly rude as well. WARNING! YELM POSTMASTER KEN.. HOSTILE POST OFFICE! This year Ken the postmaster made inappropriate comments to my wife. Then he "locked us out" of our paid for P.O. Box. We complained to the USPS and all they did was forward the complaint back to the postmaster. Now yesterday we get our package back after we sent it. The clerk said it was rejected by KEN in retaliation for our complaint. We are a US Veteran family with a small ebay business and had to pay out of pocket to cover the loss of sale because of KEN not sending our package. read more

This is more of a review of the USPS policies than my dissatisfaction with the error the Yelm post office made today on my delivery. I paid $6 to have my package shipped 2 day priority. And while this isn't a "guaranteed" delivery option I do expect that if the package makes it to the local office on time, Is sorted for delivery, is "out for delivery", and then returned due to a supposed "inaccurate delivery address (that was accurate)" that due to the error at the local USPS station I could be compensated for having to drive to the station to get my package. This is not the case... Even though the package was most likely nearly in my driveway, due to a USPS error I had to go wait in line and pick up my package myself as a paying customer. USPS here in Yelm and USPS main customer service both straight up told me that even though they made an error there was nothing they could do but say sorry and take my 6 dollars. I'd understand weather delays, un realistic distances for the package to travel, accidents and other forms of delays. But when it is an error made by an employee at my door step a consideration should be made. My address was indeed correct as the USPS post master in the yelm office confirmed (also confirmed by the countless other packages, bills, and advertisements that arrive accurately). What I can say is that the customer service agent at USPS main, the desk agent and post master in Yelm were polite even though they were unable to help me. =\ read more

I went in to post office to mail a package at 330pm. A guy behind the counter was being rude and yelling at a lady customer. She got upset and walked away. Then he looked at me asked what I needed. I said mail a package. He rudely said "Theres only one person working all day and shes on break, you'll have wait 20 min". This is a business that was open no sign up someone on break and after him yelling at lady before me I decided to post. Been in there many times the one women who works behind counter and this guy (why he couldnt fill in for someone on break dont know) just very rude way of talking to customers. Mail delivery lady is pretty awesome but person(s) answering the phone at the post office are rude and extremely unhelpful to the point of hostility on their part. I guess when you have a Federal Job, you don't have to learn customer service or helpfulness. I was left a re-delivery slip for a large envelope that could not be placed in a locked mailbox slot and the QR scan code would not work online, nor would the Article Number or Barcode Number. The woman taking my phone call could not or would not get it to work either even though it was directly off the USPS notice. She refused to communicate to the delivery person to redeliver to the exact same address that is marked on the package. I understand if there was a request to re deliver to another address, but this is a no signature envelope. Said she couldn't verify my identity, as if a online website can. Not a nice woman. These people are downright the worst post office I have ever dealt with in my life. When we first moved into our home I put up a new mailbox that had a secondary locking inner door but did not have a lock in it. I was not concerned with it. Almost a year later all the sudden we stopped receiving mail. I had to contact the post office and was informed by them that they could not deliver mail by law because we had a locking mailbox that did not lock. They then lied to me and said that they had not been able to deliver mail for a long time. We had been receiving mail for almost a year before they decided this was an issue. The lady I spoke to on the phone was absolutely no help and rather rude. I was informed that the carrier had left numerous notices in our mailbox telling us that there was a problem. We never received even one single notice from them. I had to go into the post office to collect our mail which included some very important papers that were now late at this point. The only good thing about this place is the guy named Ken because he does actually try and recover the items your post man has lost! The others are AWFUL! Super rude customer service when you go there and I do agree with others that there is a thief in there! I had a package that was worth over $500 our post man marked it delivered to the front door even though it could fit in the box and when it wasn't there I called and told them it was a gift from someone who just passed and they didn't even understand why he would mark it at the door since it's small enough to fit in the box! Then he called our post man and magically found it in 10 min or less! So obviously he thought his wife would probably like it! this isn't the first time he is ALWAYS either losing our mail in the neighborhood or somehow delivering it to the wrong address and I don't even know how that's possible all of our house numbers are labeled very well so he has no excuses other than being lazy he also somehow put mail in the wrong boxes ALL THE TIME! We as a neighborhood have witnessed him smoking while delivering packages and not caring if kids are right by him he will blow his smoke their way!
