I should of done my own research before going. I told them I'm in military orders for school here. I even brought my orders. But they said if I'm here longer than 60 days I need to pay USE TAXES on the car I bought from OREGON. I showed them my Hawaii driver's license too when looking at my name. All things that should of told them I'm not from here and things that hit the mark of qualifying reasons not to pay use taxes. On the website it says.. Actives duty OVER 6 months (been in years now) Vehicle 30 days before discharge Took purchase out of Washington state My home of record isn't WA So I even told them I need a exempt form but they disagreed and said it doesn't apply to me. $500 use taxes. Now I gotta wait for a refund and turn around time is damn near a year. When they could of just had trained their employees better so they aren't charging for things they shouldn't be. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, I first tried to Come here to register my car and they were not helpful at all! I had to wait almost 2 hours just to get told I was "missing paper work" when I went to m and l auto licensing instead and Dannie said I had everything I needed, and they had physical license plates on hand, while Lacey told me it would take 4 months for me to get physical license plates. Staff have no clue what they are doing. Brought my car that was gifted to me from my dad. Had an out of state title. Was told I wouldn't be able to get it registered because sales taxes weren't paid on the car yet they were and I had proof saying other wise. They looked up the value of the car and wanted $600+ to cover "sales tax". Staff was belligerent and hard headed. Ended up going to the Auto registration place in Hawks Prairie. Took less than 10 minutes to get it done. Only paid $274.25. I would just completely avoid this place. Either they were trying to scam me or they just wanted it done their way even if it wasn't correct. I am glad this licensing office is open until 6 on most days so I can just go right inside after a short drive from work and renew my tabs or whatever else I need. You can do most renewals online but in the case that you received your notice to renew and tossed it into the pile of papers like I have on my desk that "I'll get to it when I get to it" and then the renewal date passes...then you're in luck if you need a quick renewal. I don't shop at Albertsons but it's nice that if you need groceries or something you can renew your tabs or get your licensing needs done and also do your grocery shopping. They are very fast too, unlike some of the other vehicle/vessel licensing places around. And they only charge a small fee for debit purchases. Definitely will be back. read more

Mixed feeling about this place. Customer service was horrible from one of the worker, she seemed like she was bothered by my questions and didn't feel like working. I went back a few minutes later and had the pleasure of being helped by a tiny (very short) younger worker and she answered my questions very friendly (because I left the first counter with another question but First Lady didn't seem to have the time). 5 stars for her 0 for the other that's what a 3 star. I renewed my car tabs in October 2019 and had the DOL issue the tabs through Lacey Auto Licensing. I received one vehicle set of tabs but I did not receive the second set of tabs for my second vehicle. Lacey Auto Licensing said they would reissue and mail out the second set of tabs right away. Over two weeks later they still have not arrived and Lacey Auto Licensing says I have to come and pick them up now. So I have to take time out of my busy day to supervise someone to do their job so I can get what I legally need and they are supposed to ensure gets to me and that I paid them to do. Surprisingly, this place was not as good of an experience that I had had 20 minutes before at the Department of Licensing. I still am in disbelief that I'm writing this, but literally the people at the Department of Licensing were much friendlier than they were here. First off, it's an easy place to find and not too hard to access, but there were a couple of issues. I waited in line like everyone else for my turn. When called up to the counter, it was a bit rude and rushed. I realize that they have customers all day long but this is a private company that is contracted by the government to serve the people and frankly I feel like they should probably be a step up from government services. Anyway, the person there processed all of my paperwork and really didn't seem friendly enough to even make eye contact with me. Worst service ever. Three people standing around or walking around so I get in line. I am disabled vet, I know how lines work and I also recognize malingering when I see it. One talking to an older man and it had nothing to do car tags. She could not help me. Window #2 we only do tabs so we will not help anyone else. Then window #3. She was typing away at her email, she admitted to it but then said official business. So one was talking, one was watching but could not help, the third persons pretense of not noticing anything. So after three people were helped before me, I asked how many people need to work here before I get served? I was told to go to a different location if you don't like the service. I purchased a vehicle from private dealer and the lien holder produced an affidavit in lieu of title to speed up my registration process. I was told by person A that I could not use this. After talking to another person I was told I could but the document had to be the original and not a copy. The RCW and WAC does not indicate such and I was told that the RCW and WAC are left up to interpretation. The inconsistency in the guidance being given is sub-standard and needs fixed. read more

This is the worst DMV. Being located inside a Albertsons it is very high traffic and not clean. The employees were very rude. One was not wearing a mask and had a sign stating "I am exempt from wearing a mask". This was very alarming. The women who "helped" me was only wearing her mask over her mouth, allowing her nose and checks to be exposed. She had a cough and at this point I could not be in that space anymore. They were clearly not taking correct protocols for Covid, nor were they providing any sense of customer service. read more

Horrible service! The girls there treated me with zero respect. Insulted me by trying to humiliate me and make me feel stupid. The red hair girl and the short brunette . Need to be fired ASAP. They are poorely representatives for WA DMV. And they are an embarrassment to society! We just purchased a used trailer from out of state. I have never transferred titles before so I was a little nervous I wouldn't have all the right paperwork or mess something up. The staff here was friendly, funny, and very helpful. We were helped almost immediately and it only took 15-20 mins to get everything we needed and be on our way. Worst place to register a car, the owner of the licensing location is extremely rude and told me she was going to have to charge me tax on 78 thousand dollars when I only paid 5 thousand dollars for my car, I'm not sure where she came up with that crazy number when the used car I bought only cost 26 thousand new over 20 years ago, I think she must have either pulled that number out of thin air or looked at some crazy rich person auction price on a similar model car with no miles and in mint condition, well this wasn't the car I purchased, I took my business elsewhere and wasn't quoted the Sotheby's auction price on the used car, I realize that people might under value the reported sale price on a purchase, but this wasn't the case with this vehicle and I didn't like being called a liar to my face when I was just trying to register a used car. Nobody would pay 78 thousand dollars for this mediocre, high mileage, used vehicle and I feel she knew it! After being made to look like a lying thief in front of the line of people behind me I went outside and googled the same make and model car that I was attempting to register and couldn't find any past sales that even came close to the price she quoted me. Wow never again will I renew tabs or register a car at this location!! Hopefully this will help somebody before they're insulted and ripped off. read more

I own many vehicles and trailers and a boat, and have been using them multiple times a year. This bad reviewer has no idea what they are talking about, I've been using Lacey Auto Licensing for many years and have nothing but positive things to say about them. Their customer service is much better than any location around Oly, and the lady who was probably on her phone was their manager, who has been on the phone every single time I've been there. All the girls there are really pretty, and the one guy is very friendly and knowledgeable. The girls know what their doing too, but there is a new one who doesn't seem too sure yet. read more
