I wanted to defend myself in regard to working as a contracted rural carrier for Alaska Mail Services, which is contracted with USPS in Woodland, WA. I still speak to many people on this route and have been told that unfair things were said about me. It was not fair to have only one side of the story told by a customer known within the post office as an annoying complainer, which is a huge problem, and the Post Master made that very clear every time he called to complain about frivolous tiny issues. I wasn't going to say anything, but that is not fair to me as I was very fair and honest with my customers. I was taunted and poorly treated by this customer. I will not be verbally bullied or treated like a second-class citizen. I also will not have false accusations or rumors spread about me. Despite the challenges, I found immense joy in my role serving the rural community. The majority of residents were genuinely kind and welcoming, and I took great pride in my work, striving to positively impact the lives of those I served. A few years ago, I applied for a position that led me to engage with a woman who had bid on the delivery route. She was not a direct supervisor but had influence over the route and its employees. At first, she appeared to be an encouraging ally, sharing my enthusiasm for the job. However, it soon became apparent that her trust had been exploited by several of her previous employees. She recounted alarming stories that shook my faith in the organization: one employee had brazenly taken the work vehicle home, filled with packages, while he was under the influence of drugs. Another individual had irresponsibly transported mail an hour away with his family in the car--an undeniable federal offense. To make matters worse, another employee crashed three of her delivery vehicles yet somehow remained on the payroll. On top of these unsettling dynamics, I also had to contend with a demanding customer who frequently made ageist remarks from his garage. His penchant for complaining about every minor issue was relentless and draining. When I voiced my discomfort and feelings of harassment regarding his comments, my concerns fell on deaf ears. Driven to improve communication, I approached the woman who bid on the route to propose leaving a friendly note about placing a tub at the bottom of the steep driveway for easier access. She enthusiastically agreed, "YES!" Yet, much to my disappointment, my request was ultimately disregarded. The customer called and complained again; of course, I took the brunt end of it. My experience has led me to caution anyone considering a role with the USPS. The organization is rife with corruption and often falls short of moral values. Many employees display manipulative and untrustworthy behavior, contributing to a toxic work environment. This job can be thankless, and potential applicants should be aware of the daily difficulties they may face. I would not recommend the Alaska Mail Service to anyone. The woman who bid on the route consistently disparages her employees, and if you demonstrate loyalty and a commitment to doing what's right, she is likely to turn against you. Alaska Mail Service has repeatedly confided in me that other employees have committed federal offenses. I ultimately decided to leave this position because I value myself and deserve the respect that was not afforded me there. read more

Would love to rate the Woodland, wa post office at zero stars. They refuse to deliver packages to my door. They said they couldn't deliver because the receptacle was full. I drove down to my mailbox and there is an empty receptacle. They also said a notice was in my box ... there isn't one. I conclude that the lazy carrier decides ahead of time that he- she will not attempt the the delivery but lies about it so I have to go pick it up at the post office. ***ZERO STAR RATING*** Scam Artist's, Beware! I had $140.00 stolen from me by the lady that works at the post office in Ariel, Wa. I paid cash and was not given a receipt, only two keys to the P.O. Box 560 in which I still possess. When I confronted her (Crystal) two months later, at the woodland post office (because she works there as well, and I was not receiving my mail) she said she had no recollection of the transaction and that the P.O. I have lived in WOODLAND FOR 18 y ears and never had many problems with mail. Since the first of this year it has been bad. I am missing 4 1099's for taxes, surgery info for my surgery and credit card statement. I have also mailed 3 payments which have never showed up causing late payments. Last week I mailed 2 cards to same address and only one has showed up in ARIZONIA and I went into post office and put in the box. They are lucky that the nice man helped me out otherwise they would have gotten one star. The place is in a good location... but their delivery service is terrible. Not only did my package that was supposed to be delivered before 3 not even arrive, I had to pick it up before the store closed. The kicker? It looked like the packaged got a beating. Well had 2 packages that were supposed to be delivered! Two different people but the same address, so they put one in a box and the other gets a"parcel" card! Of course the one I can't get today is the one most needed for safe and "LEGAL" driving, my new bluetooth. If negative stars were an option I would give them -5 stars! USPS is not taking responsibility just because it was an international package, although it was first class with tracking number. Been following up since past 6months. I do NOT trust USPS anymore. By far the worst customer service post office I have ever been too. Every time I go in to mail a package and buy stamps, the older Caucasian lady with the short blonde hair is just pure mean. She likes to voice her rude opinion when it is not needed. Loves to insult her customers and even the people she works with. Even talks crap about her fellow co-workers to you when you are at the window. She is too cranky to work in such a people person environment. I have never, ever had anything but good experiences with the US Post - until I moved into this postal code. The lines are long, the majority of the people that work clearly don't care about their jobs and take no responsibility for the service from their location. My mail is miss delivered to my neighbors, mail held while I am out of town is never delivered (although I selected that option), I received no mail at all one a date about 5 days before Christmas - seems pretty unlikely given Holiday cards & advertisements and the list goes on. They are looking to close some PO's. I think this one is a good candidate. read more

This is my fav post office of any in the area. The employees are really cool and never hassle me when I am shipping out stuff which is pretty often. I also have a PO BOX here which I haven't had any problems with. I find the parking lot easy to maneuver because it's only one way which makes it easy to get in and out. This office also has a do it yourself machine where you can ship packages from after hours, I really like that! read more

Like any Post Office this one serves a large market and can be busy at times. The staff are friendly and try to accommodate the assortment of cranks and crabby people with their mis-wrapped and poorly labeled packages. It appears that a lot of "Yelpers" like to fancy themselves critics of all things. Confrontation for the sake of itself makes these people happy. A little kindness will get you a long way and a lot of people today just feel that's unnecessary. read more

I Have lived in Woodland for five years now. I do a lot of business transactions with the Post Office. I can't say enough how much I love and appreciate the staff there. I have had packages waiting there late on Saturdays, and they will let me know if a staff member will be working late when I get off of work. I ring the buzzer and someone pops up through the half door. Today I had a perishable package arrive there. I was worried about it getting stuck in there over the weekend. Mindy drove it into town and delivered it at my workplace. Tori, Mindy, Lorrie, Doug, and finally my Postal Carrier Linda. Such fine people who go out of their way to accommodate me. If there is negative point that I could choose I would for this USPS office. I have been there for twice, the worth customer service experience I have never had in my life. Actually, I dont think there is any kinda of customer service at this place. I been there last week to get four rolls of stamps for my company. I provided a company credit card to a lady who works there. She asked me for ID. Certainly, I couldn't provide, coz its company's CC with owner's name on it. and then, she said either with ID or signature on the back of the card. But my card doesn't have signature either. then,I left. shortly, I realized I can use my personal credit card, coz I have my ID. So went back and to another counter. I gave another lady my personal credit card with my ID, and explained to her what just happened. No surprise, she said, there is no signature on the back. I'm like??? I told her, its my credit card, and its my personal choice to sign or not. as long as I can provide my ID, then I can use it. She told me, NO!!! either you sign or you can not use here. Coz my company needed stamp immediately, thus, I signed my name on my credit card. I was so angry at that point. While the lady finishing my transaction, she still trying to lecture me. I finally asked her to stop talking! She told me, why don't you stop talking. It's my opinion that in fact, USPS losses billions billions money every year. I recently complained to the postmaster about lousy mail service here at the Jefferson Place Apartments. The label in my box is plainly marked with my name and the last name of the previous occupant (for forwarding purposes), yet I continue to receive mail for people who have been gone so long that even the manager doesn't remember them. What's so hard about updating a forwarding case and reading a label? I worked for the P.O. for a number of years and that's what letter carriers are supposed to do. The conscientious ones, anyway. But the postmaster chose to bully me with threats of visits by the postal inspectors rather than address the problem! This place is littered with mail which has been similarly misdelivered, much of it First Class Mail which should be forwarded or returned to sender. I treat misdelivered FCM the way it should be treated, but these rural mail carriers do not. Happily, I'll be moving soon without leaving a forwarding address. I'll notify everyone personally, including creditors. It'll be safer and my mail won't get misplaced or delayed. read more

June 16,2014- I went inside the lobby to drop a small prepaid package off at the teller. I stood in line listening to the teller KAPPY who was yelling & scolding at a customer for the Priority Service in a very LOUD voice. I felt very sorry for the customer who paid & didn't say a word. Next was the lady in front of me who was yelled at by the same teller for no apparent reason. The customer barked back & told KAPPY that if she's going to be treated that way, she will no longer use that office & not going to buy 2 books of stamps. KAPPY slammed the 2 books of stamps & took the lady's credit card. Then it was my turn. I greeted her "Good Morning Kappy with a great big smile" & placed the stamped envelope & a prepaid package on the counter. She gave me the "Are you stupid or what look", YELLED at me by saying "If I don't need to talk to them, I don't have to come inside the Post Office, I can just drop it off outside the lobby". I was stunned since I'm from MONROE,WA. We just couldn't drop a prepaid package in any drop boxes due to security purposes. Needless to say, I will never go back to this Post Office ever again. KAPPY needs to be fired at her position immediately. No wonder why the Postal Service has the lowest rating & is bankrupt! read more

The carrier for my area is terrible. I regularly receive mail for addresses not even close to mine, mail for people who don't live here anymore (I've written this on other pieces and put them back in my mailbox) and some days the mail never shows up. I took a half-day from work to sign for an important package but our carrier didn't even bother attempting a delivery and just stuck a missed delivery notification in my mailbox. I had to rush down to the post office and pick it up myself before the office closed. Get it together guys. read more

I agree with the reviews regarding the slow, rude employees working here, but to top it off, I get 3 other people's mail at least 3-4 times weekly delivered to my home. When I put it back in the box, it sometimes is again returned to me! Not only are they rude, they are stupid and don't even look at the name on the mail. They were supposed to deliver my package to my door since I used the EMS service, but the delivery guy just dropped the package at my apartment office which is located quite far from my home. This the worst post office I have ever been to. KAPPY is awful and needs to be put in her place and get fired. I have never been treated so rude. I came in the other day to get some stamps and there was noone else in line, and then here comes "HAPPY KAPPY" saying "can you please hurry and get up here so I can go on my break." I was so shocked when she said that and then she said, "I was suppose to go on my break 10 minutes ago but I had to help THAT guy over there." and she points at him and yells. I felt so bad for the guy. I've seen her yell at other people in the past and be rude, but that is not acceptable. Is it not ok to treat people like that. I did call her superviser and complained. In addition, a mail carrier ruined a section of my lawn when apparently their truck was stuck in soft dirt. No note, and when I called they denied it, and hung up on me.
