This post office serves a population of 5,200. I mailed a package to my sister on 6/8/2022, as I often do. The mailing address the same one I've mailed to regularly for past 40 years. I paid priority 2 days. As I speak with my sister everyday, I asked her on 6/11/2022 if she'd received the package. She has not. I checked my receipt from the post office and realized they had entered the zip code inaccurately, as the package was a gift I became concerned. I went to the post office for answers on if or when the package would be delivered and the response was shockingly horrific. The post office clerk was hostile, rude, yelling and belittling to me. The post office clerk insisted I wrote the wrong address and I was to blame for the missing package. The post office clerk was demeaning and insisted that she does not enter the address on the packages. I left feeling insulted, degraded and humiliated. 7 business days later my sister received the package and took a picture of it, still unopened, no surprise I had the correct address and the zip code correctLu written in bold black marker on the package. Interesting enough twice, not just once. I went back to the post office to speak with the clerk regarding the incident and the USPS employee become hostile screaming, throwing things and telling me I had no guarantee of delivery, that the pi should be happy my package arrived and she didn't know why I had an issue. I was trying to explain to her that her demeaning, insulting, vile rudeness that was accusatory and insistent that I was at fault was not in fact the case and even now with the facts, proof and capability of putting in an insurance claim for default on delivery of priority package due to employee error. The federal USPS employee screaming at me and telling me i was not eligible and while this employee was demeaning me, another employee stood behind her smiling and laughing. Literally laughing at this elder abuse displayed in the USPS office for all to hear and witness. I have family members who are postal carriers and have immense respect for the jobs they do. However this office and staff are usually unkind, rude, demeaning and there capability of handling their jobs with an accurate, efficiency is lacking in all areas. The town of Williams has misdelivered mailed frequently and the staff treat the customers with no dignity or humanity. The USPS staff straight lied about policy and THEIR rights as USPS, as if the customer had no rights or even choice on being a customer. "It is , what it is", "the packaged arrived didn't it", I highly recommend going to Colusa UPS . I do high volume mailing of packages and all my business will be done with UPS from now on. read more
