I've only used this post office to drop off packages on my way home from work. It's a convenient location a few blocks from Hwy 65. I am always greeted warmly by the young woman who always seems to be there when I stop by (weekdays ~3-4pm).
I've been to post offices where they don't scan the package initially and the recipient has no idea the package is on its way. Sometimes the package is not scanned until it's delivered. An employee at the Yuba City post office actually refused to scan my package at one point, saying I should have a receipt online of the tracking number. I explained that I don't need a receipt, just to get the package scanned for tracking. She assured me it would be scanned shortly. Of course it wasn't, and in the time she spent explaining this she could have scanned several packages. The point of this story is that at this Wheatland post office, they offer to scan the tracking barcode and give you a receipt which is nice. read more
