A group of us volunteers earlier in the day were trying to discern whether she is (always) simply disgusted with her job or not feeling well (always) so I asked her today about this, and her response was "You people of Seaside need to mind your own business, I'm not here to be your friend or get on your Christmas list and here are your packages and I am doing my job aren't I?...Me: "Oh, this has been brought to your attention before ?".... As I walked out of the building another woman grabbed my arm and said that I was not alone in my sentiments, and before I could get out the door Valerie was yelling Mam, mam, mam this is how I will solve this problem, and I turned around and she had put on a black face mask...! Too much to ask I guess. Then, before I got my packages into my trunk 2 men came up and said how horrible their experiences have been with her, that they will not go to her window, would rather wait for the guy AND that they wished they would put a box at the other side of downtown so they wouldn't have to come in at all. Long story short, everyone has been subjected to her sullen attitude, ambivalent body language and SHE is the one put out? I'm a Gearhart resident, and I have had to make a special trip over to retrieve my mail for a while now since Gearhart lost its Post Office and after this "discussion" today I went by and signed up with the nice little retired couple to open up a new PO box. Initially, it was a simple ask and was trying to raise the bar for the rest of community by addressing the issue. This is a lost cause.....

I was laughing all the way to my car. Yes, it probably can suck working for the USPS, but come on.... it's decent pay and it's an institution. You are dealing with the public day in and day out. If you're miserable, quit or seek counseling from a mental health professional who can hope you work thru your issues and find tools to cope with your internal aggravation. My carrier who drives the truck is wonderful, but the post office staff I've encountered are horrible. Try Seaview or Ilwaco before you set foot in LB.

I was tracking the package and noted that it was stuck in Kentucky State. I typed on the Customer Support line to inquire about the box. They sent me a message on my Gmail account that they would inspect why it was sitting in Kentucky knowing I requested a 2 day delivery. I was also told I would be contacted, which did not happen. Upon sending me another message only stating that facilities are closed for the weekend & so it would be delivered on Monday! I had a deadline to meet & feel I was taken advantage of even after also contacting the local UPS Store of my issue & not receiving a 2 day delivery. No compensation, no call, nothing. I will never recommend this privately owned company again. Not customer oriented! I'll stay with the Post Office.
