A smile crosses my face every time I cross the threshold at this wonderful post office. Always kind. Always friendly. Always proactive. For almost 10 years, I've had smooth transactions at this location. There's a reason why I live in Blue Lakes and still commute to Ukiah to ship from here - they're that reliable, even for my most precious and valuable packages. The experience has always been overwhelmingly positive. Every postal worker I've interacted with here has been nice and/or efficient. My favorite employee is the postmaster, Steve. He may come off as a bit firm or intense with his directions, but he has a terrific sense of humor and gets the job done. Sometimes, I go out of my way to go to his station just because seeing Steve brightens my day. Every time I have ever visited this location, I've always observed Steve interacting with other customers - consistently you will hear him greet them by their name, inquiring about one's day, family, or suggesting the best shipping options. Steve truly is a shining example of productivity and the epitome of composure. He's incredibly patient, to the point that he didn't even blink when an irate customer shouted expletives at him for reasons beyond his control. I've seen him handle some of the most horrific, short-fused, verbally abusive, and absolutely crude people. I've witnessed him navigate, diffuse situations, and take control of really tense interactions with class, integrity, and strength - I even gave him the nickname "George Clooney." I can vividly remember how he sat down with a confused elderly couple, explaining and repeating their situation at least five different ways so they could better understand there were solutions to their issues. Or the time he displayed unbelievable patience and compassion as he helped a sweet Grandma struggling to choose between the daffodils or the daisies commemorative postage stamps as she meticulously polished her spectacles...how many people do you know would take the effort and time to do this? Even during busy hours, Steve will do his best to keep the line moving and making every transaction as quick as possible (without rushing or being rude). Even when he looks stressed or burnt out, it's never affected his job performance or his politeness. Customers need to realize that just because the post office closes at 5:30, does not mean that the employees stop working. Also, these employees are not indentured servants. Please don't hunt down the overburdened employee to take your aggravation and frustrations out on. The post office is not the place for entitled, adult-babies to cry about "inadequate service" when you have been waiting for literally three minutes. Some customers appear to have forgotten their manners, especially with those whose job it is to assist them. Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space...your behaviors matter. Take a deep breath, watch a couple of tiktoks, check your email, do anything other than use these employees as your personal punching bags. Yes, the lines are often long (the post office has been chronically understaffed and overworked for years) but this post office is like a revolving door, moving customers in and out at a great pace. We need to be compassionate and empathetic to our essential workers. When reading negative reviews, remember that more furious people write reviews than contented customers. All things considered this location provides among the most pleasant post office experiences one can expect. This place and its employees should be an example to all other USPS locations. read more

Mail carriers will drive right by you in the dark, not stop and then mark your package "no location to deliver" which is complete BS. I was in my driveway walking towards him and he flew by, didn't even deliver my mail. read more

Requested a rekey, the desk woman told us it would be "whenever the service man was in the area". Didn't get mail for months. Never get packages to our home even though addresses are posted. We're disabled and unable to go to the post office and do his job, however I guess we should just apply since we make so many trips to the office to pick up packages for our neighbors and I. When I did package delivery I was responsible for each package, somehow found all the houses. USPS should properly staff and stop putting the responsibility on the people. You had one job. read more

AVOID this Post Office at all cost a few good employees the remainder ? It would take pages to describe my travails here over the years but suffice to say I had better service at Tijuana Post Office in the 1960's. Go to Upper Lake Post office or Cappella Office it's worth the drive. I now commute to use the USPS ????? read more

The Ukiah post office carrier that delivers in Redwood Valley is lazy and a liar. We have had several packages ruined because he was too lazy to put them in a plastic bag while it was raining buckets. I caught him doing it again on a rainy day and gave him hell.The next package, he left a slip in the mail box. I went to the Redwood Valley post office. The lady said that the carrier told her he put the package in a plastic bag. He didn't, he is a liar. The Redwood Valley Post Office lady said that he couldn't come into my yard because my dogs were loose. Another lie My two elderly hounds are in a fenced run with a latched gate. Now this jackass puts a package pick up slip in the mail box for packages that can fit in our $300 big locking mail box. The Ukiah Post Office needs to make their carriers accountable for their crummy service. read more

Terrible delivery workers that seem to have a chop on there shoulder. They were dumb enough to put packages in the wrong mailboxes here in my apartments on multiple occasions, and the supervisor or whatever got really butthurt when we called him out. They don't deliver our packages until late now, because they're petty as f@ck read more

Really nice and helpful folks at this Post Office. You'll get that small town feel as everyone knows each other by name. Joe helped me by explaining the difference between registered and certified mail for an important document. He also offers lollipops for the kids patiently waiting in line which is so great! Now I can bring in my 4 year-old without him having a meltdown...yay! Lines tend to get long, and it does get a little warm in the building so be prepared for that! Lots of mailing supplies available for purchase: tape, envelopes, etc. They even sell giftcards. Plenty of parking as well. **There is an electronic mailing service offered there if you want to avoid the lines to buy stamps, mail out priority packages, etc.** read more

Complete assholes and complete lack of customer service. We took the day off to get our 6 year old a passport. We had scheduled an appointment. We went to Walgreens to get his passport photo first. Unfortunately it took way longer than we had planned becoz taking pictures of kids is not always easy especially a passport photo. So we ended up being 10 minutes late for our appointment at this post office. When we got there were 2 other people waiting not a long line. We did not expect to be put in front of the line, but before we could even explain the situation, the person in the front (a male) said because we were late for our appointment, we will have to make another one. It wouldn't have taken much of his time to help us after he's helped everyone in line. Instead he had to be an ass and do what he did. Being human and kind isn't that hard. Please teach your employees to be human. read more

This has to be the worst post office in the entire system and it has been for the 4 years I've been in the neighborhood. The latest fiasco, i spent $40 on Priority Mail to send packages to Oceanside on Monday, it's Thursday and the package not only never arrived, the tracking number says it was never mailed. Now I have to locate the missing articles , and miss half a day of work to take the subway to deliver them by hand tomorrow. The USPS customer service 800 number is just about as useless, I called and they just tried to shift the blame. read more

I was expecting an important document in the mail and somehow it never arrived. I called and everyone in the post office was trying their best to help.
