I've been going to this post office for years. It's OK except for the stress of getting to it at peak times especially if you are entering south bound on Livernois and need to make a left turn into their parking lot. From this entry there is also a driveway across the street (Henry Ford outpatient) where there is inevitably someone waiting (a long time) to make a left and cross into your path. Sometimes to avoid this I will just turn into the driveway north of their entrance, park in the nearby office parking lot and walk over. The employees are knowlegeble, and more professional than some other post offices in other parts of the country. They may not have that high dollop of fake friendliness to get ratings for customer service, but they get the job done. My mail carrier, Kathy, is terrific. Very rarely get misdirected mail so I conclude that the sorting/feeder system between this post office and her is good. read more

Awful customer service. No one in there ever smiles they are so rude and look like they are miserable. If your job is so awful just sitting down all day then I suggest finding a new profession.. maybe something even lazier. read more

I had an excellent experience with this post office location. When a package could not be located, they worked very hard to find it. The lady searched everywhere and when it couldn't be found she took my name and number. Between the postal staff and the UPS store, my package was found. I appreciated all their hard work. read more

I just received a warm and friendly voicemail from the Troy USPS following up on a case I filed with the national USPS customer service line 1-800-ASK-USPS® (800-275-8777) because we were receiving a random person's mail/bills at our house (an address where we've been the sole occupants since we built the house). In Post Office terms, "Not at this Address" issue Although the first time I called to the national line, they said the "claim system" was inaccessible, the second time they suggested writing "Not at this address" on envelopes, which had been done, and I asked to file a claim. The manager was incredibly friendly and processed the claim and just now I received the message from the Troy USPS saying I wouldn't receive the mail from that sender again. All around great service on this issue. May update review if I still get random person's mail, but so far so good. read more

We've lived in the same home for 33 years and, unfortunately, our local postal deliverers have not been friendly, professional or dependable. The most recent incident was yesterday, when I returned home to find my mailbox door open with a package sticking out of it. Apparently, our mailcarrier, who makes no attempt to show she takes pride in her job, put our mail in the box and pushed the package in, to the point where the outer and inner bag ripped. I have not found the Troy Post Office to be, at all, friendly, or helpful. They workers seem to be arrogant, something which has been the case, for many, many years. I go to the U.S.P. location on Rochester Road in Rochester Hills, whenever I have a few minutes of extra time. They are friendly and helpful, always professional. What can I say about this place. I hate coming here but I had to return a package otherwise I would rather have my tooth pulled than come here. Postal clerk named Eddie waits on me after in line for 20 min. She gets in her register and takes her time. Don't know if she was coming in after her break or what. Meanwhile customers waiting in line almost out the door. I can sense this woman is going to give me an attitude and I wasn't disappointed! I hurriedly go to her and she says next time wait till I call you. I look at the people behind me as they shake their heads. Are you kidding me?This is why the post office is what it is. Bad service people who have been there awhile and know they can never be fired. You ever wonder why they don't have a clock in any post office? So you won't know how long you've been waiting in line! First of all, the postal carriers are great! They are all really friendly and helpful. The people behind the counter at the branch however are the most miserable people I've ever encountered (and unfortunately I have to go there often). They are so rude that it's almost funny. Canceled my mail three different times over two years with this post office, each time it was delivered. When I called today to complain, the man on the phone made it sound as if it was my fault. I was not the least bit rude. They did not apologize in any way. If you plan on canceling your mail with this office, do it a few days in advance of your vacation so you can make sure it doesn't arrive as mine did the past three times. read more

I go there and get a prompt service on most occasions but of late the delivery in somerset Blvd Troy is not as it used to be . Packages are not dropped in front of door for parcels that donot go into post box , unlike the past . We always have a better peace if packages are door dropped read more

Because both myself as well as my neighbors had such poor service with our neighborhood deiveries, I decided to get a P.O. Box. I thought that would be the end to any further problems, but I was so wrong. When you are disabled & have to stand in line along w/well over a dozen others waiting for one person behind the counter I feel that I have jump out of the pan into the fire! read more

The staff here are rude. There is one gentleman there at the counter that is especially so. We all work for a living. Your job is not to give the public a hard time. We employ you. Bad attitude. read more

Is there a new protocol on residential delivery of packages? Our postal delivery person does not deliver packages. A delivery notice is left even though someone is always home. The last time I was to receive a package I had to chase the mail truck half way down the block to give him the signed receipt that he left in my mail box. I should not have to drive to the post office because the postal delivery person assigned to my route is too lazy to get out of his/her vehicle and walk the 10 feet to my door and get my signature. It's no wonder that the post office is in such bad shape, customer service is what makes a successful business and that is obviously lacking in Troy. read more

I don't have many positives to say about this post office. They continually lose mail, misdeliver magazines and often do not deliver until after 5:00 p.m. I have not found the counter people to be all that friendly or helpful and will often use the Rochester Post Office for postal needs. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. I was here on a day it was closed abs used the self kiosk. My card was charged, but no printing label was printed. I paid for 2 day shipping and had to come back the next day, taking time off work, and they refused to guarantee it would make it in the time I had paid for. In addition, I had the unfortunate experience of working with the supervisor, David Sutton, who was rude, lazy and incompetent. He took my package and did not return for 30 minutes. I fear that he will not deliver my package out of spite, when the mistake was theirs. It is no wonder the post office is failing when they do not address or correct their mistakes, hire incompetent people with no care about customer service and are unwilling to guarantee the service I already paid for. read more

I have been on hold for over 30 minutes for someone named Dave who is the retail manager in an attempt to buy several sheets of the new love stamp - I bought all of the sheets Birmingham and Berkley had available ... 34 minutes ... used my cell phone to call whilst keeping land line on hold - rang busy - am I helping them by tying up this line so that they aren't motivated to answer my call? 35 minutes ... someone picked up at 40 minutes to put me on hold again for 5 minutes only to pick up again and tell me Dave went to lunch 10 minutes ago ! Wow ! No wonder the US Postal Service is a fiscal fiasco. read more

I just moved here from out of state to help my family who are currently having some medical problems. I went to drop off a letter for an employee that was from their physician and I had been given the name of the manager Kim, of course with something important like this I asked if I could leave it with her. The young man at the counter, Hunter, was very pleasant and understood my concerns with leaving it with management. As I waited I heard a voice coming around the corner, nasty tone "so what? She couldn't just hand it off to you?" Of course when I saw her I responded "no I can't, I am more comfortable leaving someone else's paper work with management", this woman just extended her hand, never smiled, head turned ready to walk away. The tone and body gestures were as rude as it gets. This is management? I hope this attitude isn't infectious, because the young man that was my first encounter was a reflection of what his management should be. read more

i have lived here in troy for 11 years now,and the street i am on is off livernois ,less then a mile away from the post office...we can not keep a mail carrier for nothing. we have went without mail because no one wants this route,because they have two lousy streets they have to delivery on foot. lazy,lazy mail carriers. no mail again today...aug. 26...it is not a holiday,and we should of got our mail. i havent went to the troy post office in years....too busy,bad location,takes too long....i go to clawson post office, much faster,and i like the ladies there. you need to find someone who is not afraid of a little walking to deliver our mail. this is ridiculous............my pay check comes in the mail,and there are seniors on my street that need their mail also. find someone who is not afraid of "work",or fire them all. when we do get someone that lasts a few months,their always late,or mixing up mail,because they are talking on their damn phones......you people need to start checking on your carriers. cg troy read more
