Ok post office to use. Not the best staff at a PO. Often the access is limited and the parking can be challenging

It's a government agency need I say more? I travel some and every time I put in a Hold Mail something goes wrong. Either the mail isn't held or it never gets delivered. There is a different carrier every day on the route maybe that's the issue? read more

The postal machine is never working or printer paper always out. Can we get these machines working so don't have to stand in line. A lot of nice people that work at this location and have at least 2 people at windows. Would be great to get more people at window but at least have 2 most places have 1 with 20 people in line. read more

This location is not our primary US Post Office where we have our PO Boxes. But it IS conveniently located along the routes that we frequently take and across the street from the medical facility where we see our primary care doctor. So we get by here quite often and have taken care of various mailing needs occasionally. They offer longer hours with counter service than many other locations in the area including Saturdays. For a quick drop of anything that already has the proper amount of postage applied, there is a drive up drop box outside and separated from the main USPO traffic lanes. Whenever I needed stamps or to weigh and apply postage to something, the staff I have dealt with have always been pleasant. And even if the line initially appears long, it moves along steadily and they seem to pay attention and open additional stations when needed. This is a full service location. read more

Worst thing I can see when I buy something online is that they used the USPS. Guaranteed late and untraceable. Was waiting for a package all day ve ay that was the scheduled delivery date ( even says it now) but as usual...nothing! When people complain about the inefficiency of government they are the first thing I think of. Stick to shipping letters and leave packages up to the professionals! read more

I really like this post office. It's big, clean and I usually don't have a problem here. Trust me, not all post offices are the same! They have passport services here, along with PO Boxes and even when there's a line, I usually haven't had to wait that long. The only time I ever had a problem here was during a summer storm when parts of the area had lost power. Their credit card machine connections went down and unless you had cash, they couldn't help you. It's not their fault, but I had to go to another location. Parking here is decent, and they also have a mailbox if you don't want to go inside. It's off to the side which makes it easier if you do need to go inside. Staff here has been pleasant, and they also have packing supplies for sale here along with a few greeting cards as well. read more

Worst post office ever. Every single time I go, there is a minimum hour wait because it is incredibly understaffed and the employees are slow and rude. They even have a sign up that says "my boss told me to have a good day so I went home" which is ironic because there's only ever one employee. Last time I was here the older man helping me scoffed at me and told me I should have just used the self-help kiosk in the lobby, and basically said I waisted his time. In order to avoid that this time I tried to use the kiosk but it won't print out the shipping label anyway, so now I am waiting in line where u have been for 45 minutes. Rude staff, kiosk doesn't work, and the people who do work don't seem to care that the line is consistently an hour wait read more

Really sad that Troy post office is so penny pinching and thoughtless. I came in to mail a soft package ( after trying to return to store ) and needed six inches of adhesive tape to close it. Not only wouldn't they let me purchase six inches of tape but I had to buy a whole roll. What has this world come to? No one extends a helping hand to anyone anymore. I was told that tape was not in their budget and would affect overhead. REALLY!?! Shame on you City of Troy Postal. I bet if I went down the road to Clawson, they would have helped me. ugh read more

Been here a few times now, since it's the closest PO to where I live. I usually go around 4:30-5pm after work and the line is usually very long, but today (on a Wednesday) it wasn't bad - I was in and out within 10 minutes. Service is usually good, the workers there are friendly. Parking lot is TINY and don't think you can make a left turn onto Livernois after (especially during rush hour) ... take your chances with Big Beaver Rd instead. read more

Had an appointment to renew passports for my family and I. My wife and I had to leave work early and take the kids right out of school to make our appointment time. Passport window was closed since "the guy that does passports" decided to call in and extend his long weekend. There was of course zero communication from the post office to those that had appointments. I guess that's our tax dollars at work ...zero accountability for these government run agencies. No for-profit business would ever be allowed to operate like this or they'd be Bankrupt. read more

I've been taking my small business packages to this location 3x a week for the last 10 years. I know many of the clerks by name. Noland & Vivian always ask how I am and how my family is doing. They have been extremely kind & patient with all the boxes I have brought in. We've also gotten our passports done here, which was great. People complaining about parking fail to mention there's an additional lot to the right. I guess they don't want to walk a few extra feet. Troy is a good size city, so yes this location is busy. Either get there before lunch or go later. I usually went about 6:30 pm. I almost always got right up to the counter as soon as I walked in. My experience here is like the golden rule says...Treat others the way you want to be treated. read more

Just had a wonderful experience with the postal worker. I walk in with 15 envelopes that may or may not be overweight so I needed them weighed and I need to send them out. I immediately get waited on where in extremely large man was sitting down because he probably couldn't stand up because of his girth. I tell "Papa Bear" A.k.a. Noland that I need these envelopes Wade and send and I need an additional book of stamps.that I need these envelopes weighed in send and I need an additional book of stamps He immediately looks at me and says I'm not putting stamps on this you can do it right over there !!! I said really this is how you're going to treat a customer? He then says they don't pay me to put your stamps on your envelopes. I said you have horrible people skills. He says sorry you feel that way do you want to speak to my manager? At that point I decided to leave so I wouldn't make an ass out of myself. I then go over "there" where he told me to go. I then proceed to hear him talk about me to the other four agents. I just looked Adam and said you'll be hearing from me later. He tells me he looks forward to it. read more

Words cannot express the level of inefficiency at this post office. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The drop boxes were locked at 10am on a Tuesday. The employees have zero people skills. The service and staff here are abysmal. Mail is delivered WEEKS late and nobody cares. I have been going into this post office for days trying to get ONE piece of very important mail that others in the group received a week ago from their post offices in Bloomfield and Saginaw. The staff gives a different answer every day and every call. The manager just told me they are too busy figuring out the pandemic. It is FEBRUARY 19, 2021! The pandemic has been here for a solid 11 months. They are not too fast working out the pandemic issues and the mail does NOT get delivered here. This is Troy's local postoffice and needs badly to be remodeled. Staff is nice but facility is way too small for Troy. Use it often to mail packages and as others have mentioned, the drop boxes were broken most of December. Even the computer mailing station have been out of order. Try to drive to Rochester to use that beautiful facility when I can. What a disservice to the employees and customers of Troy post office to have to work and shop in such conditions. read more

This is my go-to post office since it's about two miles from my house, so I'm there maybe once a month. As long as you avoid the lunch-time rush (maybe 11a-1p) the lines are almost non-existent and you can get in and out in under 5-10 minutes. A few other times around lunch--or around the holidays--you're going to have lines almost out the building. I think I've only turned around and gone home once. But every time I do go there, the employees are very nice and process my shipping needs quickly and effortlessly. I highly recommend this location. read more

Long long line so only do this if u have lots of time on your hands. They really need to hire more folks to man the counters here. The passport office is always closed when I have come here. I frequent the Belleville MI post office more times than this (my residential address post office) only because both me and the wife work in the area. They are always fully staffed, with 3 lovely ladies manning the counters. Hardly any line ever and nice friendly atmosphere. Love to do business there!!! Maybe we'll move to Belleville. BTW it is not as big a city as the "City Of Troy" but still a city. So why is Troy so bad? Long lines!! Hardly anyone at the counters. And the ones that are there don't seem too too happy to be there. read more

Purchased first class and certified mail to mail my passport, application and check. My mail was lost at this post office or stolen. never made it to second location. The manager had the audacity to say they didn't lose it, but envelope must have been ripped and mail fell out as the likely scenario. What a crock of s$&@ with this horrendous post office!!!!! I have been to this branch twice in the last week, and both package drop-off bins have been broken. One has an "out of order" sign and the other simply won't work. That takes away the convenience of being able to drop off a package without having to go inside to the counter. I don't know why they don't prioritize fixing those at this time of year - seems like it would make their lives a lot easier. Also, for such a busy post office, the traffic flow is awful. One way in and one way out, and it gets backed up quick, even during off-peak hours. I plan on staying away from this PO from now on. read more

Horrible post office. For some reason my mail goes to this post office instead of the Ferndale one. My mail is regularly missing. I've had doctors and banks call asking if I moved because the mail was returned. I'm constantly getting other people's mail delivered to me. The supervisor doesn't care or do anything. I've repeatedly had to contact this office to find packages and mail that claim to have been delivered or show up in informed delivery, but don't aren't there. I'm at a complete loss for what to do. As an adult in the US, I'm stuck using this place. It's probably the worst post office ever. read more

They have two 13 oz drop boxes and BOTH ARE BROKEN and have been for months. Shouldn't this be a #1 priority to be operational ?

I have a tracking number and follow the delivery of a package. The package was place on a USPS truck this morning for delivery today. The postal driver lied and said I was not home. They made no attempt to deliver and noted that I was not home. LIE! The service is horrible there and there is no person to hold them responsible. It is worth the drive to any neighboring post office to avoid that horrible operation. It sure would be nice if the government would place a responsible person of authority to oversee the operation. read more

I cannot speak for the actual post office center ONLY PASSPORT CENTER. Terrible, rude cranky Mike was a disaster. How does he have this job? After waiting in line until 12:50 (He's on lunch from 12-12:30). He came crashing up to the counter and waved the first lady up with these crazy hand gestures like we angered him for being there. I couldn't hear what was said but she walked away obviously passport-less and defeated...fast forward to two OTHER customers walking away upset and his rude behavior obvious from my point in line, I was turned down as well for in my opinion ridiculous reasons. To me it was obvious Mike hates his job and loved turning people away. I left shaking and near losing it. Forcing myself not to tear up over this angry jerk. I am an entrepreneur, and frequently ship a ton of packages. This post office is the worst. Employees are rarely helpful, chronically short staffed, and have attitudes when you ask questions. I choose Fedex or Ups over them and would suggest you do the same. This post office demonstrates everything wrong with the US postal system. Don't even bother to come here! read more

Tons of people complain about the traffic and parking at this post office. I tell them you gotta go when it's low volume. Accessing this post office is a cinch before 6am or after 11pm when traffic volumes are low and left turns in and/or out are possible. Unfortunately the mail man is sleeping then so it's not really a good time to go. I guess maybe you should just mail stuff from your mom's house cause you know the mail man's gonna be there anyway so it's no big deal. read more

I live in Sterling Heights, but near Dequindre, so near the Troy border. Often times I choose this Troy Post Office location for the later hours they receive packages for mailing on weekdays. Lines are usually manageable as long as you avoid the peak times. The location is great for me since my gym, I-75, Somerset Mall, Troy Library, and many other Big Beaver classics are all nearby. I highly recommend choosing this Post Office if like me, you are equidistant to a few of them. My only gripe is that the parking lot is a tad cramped (look carefully before backing out of your space). read more

i'm awarding the two employees whom i interacted with this afternoon five stars for complete and total disinterest, the ability to not respond to a greeting, the ability to not lookup from a cellphone when answering a question, their overall and general rudeness and overall demeanor of "why is this person bothering me?" the woman at the counter was irritated with my request for a shipping price. she couldn't be bothered to respond to my greeting and simply stared at me. the fellow at the passport window was visibly disturbed that i was asking questions dragging him away from his cellphone. asking for more of an explanation irritated him. i shouldn't be surprised, federal employees of the lowest standards imaginable. the troy post office has nothing to worry about, i'm returning to old standby post office where employees are actually quite nice. read more

For a place with a bad rap overall for poor customer service, I always get service with a smile. No matter how long the lines are there is always someone there trying to make my experience more pleasant. The parking isn't great; no but in this area, none of the post office parking IS. The smiles and willingness to greet you and ask how your day is and offer a helping hand or even to get the door is what makes this my first choice in post offices for this area. read more

They have misdelivered mail to me and my neighbors more times than I can count. They cant even pick up mail from my mailbox when I put the red flag up. Caused my rebate to be late. Had to drive all the way there and demand they backdate the postmark. I've even had damaged mail arrive months later that looked like it had been stepped all over. These guys are the biggest bunch of buffoons around and they all deserve a good swift kick in their arse and then a nice sh!t canning.
