I've been visiting this USPS location in Tenafly lately to drop off pre-packaged items, and the staff at the counter is always super efficient and friendly. Since I already know the routine and come prepared with my QR codes ready for printing, the whole process is smooth and takes almost no time at all. If you go early in the morning, there's practically no line. Around 1:00 PM, you might see three or four people ahead of you, but things move quickly and it's a stress-free experience. The facility itself is always very clean, well-organized, and spacious, with plenty of counter space if you need to finish packing your items on-site. Plus, they have two convenient parking lots right next to the building with tons of spots for customers. Overall, I'd give them a 9 out of 10. Aside from my town's post office, I often come to this one, for its extended hours, especially on Saturdays they are open till 4pm. I always had a fast and efficient service here. All the clerks have been friendly and helpful. The post office has lots of good gifting and mailing materials available inside. read more

When did become acceptable to be on a personal call using AirPods when working??? Woman couldn't say a word to me because she was chatting away about "negative energy" on her AirPods. Couldn't say hi, how can I help you, thanks or bye. Just pointed to the screen to choose my receipt (I was sending packages). Other workers have been very helpful and this location has great hours. read more

PROS: One of the bigger post offices in the area this has a good selection of boxes and other merchandise for sale. They even have their own parking lot unlike many post offices. CONS: Their employees are very grumpy that work there and make it a dread to come in OVERALL: Come and buy something or drop a letter in the mailbox but if you have to speak to the employees you need to grow a spine read more

Avoid AJ. The worst service of all times and extremely RUDE, I cannot believe this is happening in Tenafly. All I tried to do is to return a package with a QR code and the merchant indicated I do not need to pack it up (it is in a shoe box), but AJ was denying and asking me to pack it up. Non sense. If there is another PO available to you , avoid the Tenafly one. The Tenafly Post Office guarantees three things , and your mail delivery is not one of them . Your 3 guarantees are: 1.Slow Service 2. Rude, nasty, disgruntled clerks 3. Errors in postage applied by clerks causing the return of your parcel weeks or months later for postage due. read more

The bad reviews on here are unreal. There's rarely ever a line and when there is the most I've ever waited was 5 minutes tops. And they are open late weekdays and Saturday. What more can you ask for? I agree with the other guy there should be a machine so you can buy stamps without waiting online. The only people who give this place bad reviews are the people who do not understand how to ship things and want to argue with the workers about pricing. like complaining long enough will change the set rates and they'll get to pay less. read more

Not sure what other reviewers are so annoyed about. It's the post office, not the Ritz-Carlton. Most of the clerks are far more pleasant than the ex-Aeroflot employees that are indeed the norm at other post offices. One constructive comment I can make is they should really have longer hours, considering that many people in Tenafly are busy professionals. Also, they should have stamp vending machines so that you don't have to stand in line if you just want to buy some stamps. Third, considering the large number of people in the neighborhood who seem to travel abroad for business or vacation, they should really have more hours and staff devoted to passport issues. The biggest problem that leads to slow service at this post office is not the staff. The problem is other customers. Lonely people who want to deliver a half hour dissertation on the history of Tenafly to the staff when there's a huge line behind them, or people who want everything explained to them half a dozen times when they don't like the answer the first time. No, you can't ship a four hundred pound package the size of a refrigerator to South Korea overnight for thirteen dollars. And then there are the younger nouveau riche who are no more than three generations out of the shtetl but expect to be treated like royalty. read more

I have been pretty happy with this post office - any time I mail something, it reaches the location as expected. Every time I need any information, the clerks are helpful. My kids' passport renewals have been pretty amazing - quick, painless - really nothing to complain about. read more

Lazy postmaster who just wants to sit and collect a paycheck, not really there to help people, rather just wants to make his job easier. Why can't people who work low level govt jobs not be complacent. That's why usps will never be profitable like a ups or fedex, bc of poor employee selections. read more

I love that this post office is open until 7p on weekdays. I never have any issues with the customer service at this location. Some of customers tend to be trouble makers talking down on the staff. When I come here I'm usually in and out with no issues. I prefer this location over Englewood and Teaneck. read more

Horrible little man named Danny at the counter didn't like the labels I used, so he refused to mail two of my six packages!! Crazy!! I drove to another post office, and they mailed my two packages just fine. I can do without jerks like him! I went to the Tenafly Post Office today to complete certified mail for my father's engineering business. First off, the man helping me was continually rude and acted like it was an inconvenience to do certified mail which usually takes a while. He also said that women become engineers to meet men and that there are careers that should only be for men. He chimed in with another customer who was agreeing with him. He was continually rude if there was a problem with the mail like a wrong zip code. Then an older man came up to the front for no reason, touched me, and said that I look better when I smile. The worker did not say anything just asked why he was there and the older man said not to worry because he had an hour to wait. I do not know why he didn't make him go back on line but I uncomfortably moved away from him. This post office must be a portal to the 1950's because it was the worst experience I have ever had as a woman in a business. read more

Worst USPS staff EVER. Unkind, rude, unprofessional, nasty, confrontational, uneducated, incompetent, unhappy, lazy and just plain MEAN. I always give them a friendly "hello" and smile and they just blankly stare at me. I buy a stamp and they act inconvenienced and annoyed. I ask a question and they give me a defensive answer and even worse, it's almost always the wrong answer. Every passport question I asked them they gave me the wrong answer and they spoke to me in a loud and defensive way. Apparently none of them are trained or know how to GOOGLE. One man had the nerve to tell me that for a passport, a change in martial status was only divorce, not marriage. Maybe he's thinking about his own divorce. A woman who works there almost always gives me the wrong change and when I politely return the money to her, she doesn't even say "thank you" even though constantly having cash shortages could get her fired. Maybe that's what she's hoping for, who knows. I've seen them all be mean to nearly everyone at one time or another, men, women, children, whoever has the misfortune of being there. I am still in shock of my rude treatment at this post office. When I approached the counter and told the man I was there to renew my passport and had my papers filled out he got nasty immediately and said then why don't you just mail it in. I explained I needed the photo which pissed him off even more. When he took the photo he yelled at me and said I closed my eyes. I explained it was called blinking because he took awhile. He was so fresh and nasty for no reason. A woman next to me said I heard this post office has nasty people. Now I witnessed it.I am very surprised a town like Tenafly has such nasty people in a government office. I am speaking of the Phillipino man with the glasses that has been mentioned in other reviews. I did nothing to provoke him. Maybe he has a thing with women which should be taken into consideration.He had the nerve to tell me to fill out a survey.
