    Front door.

Glad this post office is still open. Small but convenient. Just make sure that you use the main door on Front Street. Try using the other doors, and they are locked. No signs telling you to use the other door. So, I thought they had closed early only to see the open door on the other side. Go figure.

priority shipping package. expected delivery date 10/26. went to VA when it was supposed to go to TX. Worker Corletta processed it wrong

I used to come to this post office when i worked in FiDi. Workers back then seemed to be better about customer service. I came here about a week and a half ago to ship out a care package. Corletta was the representative who I had the pain of talking to. I greeted her and she went into script mode. She never made eye contact with me and proceeded with her script to tell me how "masking tape for the bottom of the box would not be acceptable" in the most monotone voice I have ever heard. I stated that the masking tape was taped over with packing tape. She took a look, said that it wouldn't work and made me take out all of the stuff in the box to put it in a new box! WTF! That meant that I had to buy a roll of packing tape. I packaged the new box right in front of her and when I was done, she went back into script mode, again not making any eye contact with me. I tried to swipe my card and she goes "it's not time for that". Well when the hell IS it going to be time then?? She never told me to "go ahead and swipe my card". Instead, I was met with a blank stare. I looked at the monitor that said "swipe card". I guess that meant it was time to swipe my card! Would have been nice to been told, considering that she took the time to tell me when it was NOT the time to do that. She gave me the tracking number and on her way out, asked me to press the green smiley face to rate my experience. Yea right. I pressed the red frowny face. The receipt stated that the expected delivery date for my package would be 10/26. Great! It'll make it there a few days before Halloween. I tracked my package once everyday and on 10/25/18, it made it's way to Virginia! Keep in mind that my package was going to Texas. I called customer service on 10/28 and they told me that the person who originally handled the package, put it in the wrong box for distribution. Well, I wonder who else it could've been! No other than Corletta, considering she was the only one working at the time I dropped off the package. What was supposed to take 3 days to arrive, took a total of 10 days as it finally arrived today. It was a priority mail package too! Save yourself some trouble, and make the trip out to literally any other USPS branch in the city and they will treat you like a person, give you the customer service you deserve, and do their job correctly.

They also sell GC's for various vendors.

No wonder USPS is going down the drain. They either hire incompetent employees or the employees just don't bother since they know this organization is not going to be around for too long. I went to ask about the process of claiming the insurance money from a priority box that I sent to the east coast. And the responses I got were: - I don't know the process ask your recipient to go to the poat office and ask. - You didn't pack a snug box, that's why it was damaged (I actually packed a snug box, but the box got wet and looked very mishandled) I am giving 2 stars, instead of one, since they at least tried to answer my questions. And gave me an alternative to try: go online and use the online claims form. I hope service improves, given that this is a prime location.

Cubicle made of boxes. Sign says "Do Not Disturb Working on Computer." Over 20 people in line and 1 person to help them.

This place is HORRIBLE!!! If it was possible to give this place negative stars, I would. If you can avoid this place run as fast as you can in the opposite direction! I worked with an e-commerce store for years and had positive and negative experiences with the post office, but I have always given them the benefit of the doubt. I can honestly say, I have no idea how this place is still open and the women who work there are still employed. I spent at least an hour a day there during the last tax season and it was consistently the worst customer service I have ever experienced. There is one woman, who seems to sort of give a damn about her job. The rest not only hate their job, they hate you for making them do it. I have seem customers yelled at, mocked, and scolded routinely. As people have mentioned previously, Brenda is slow and seems to have no idea what she is doing. I didn't know human beings could move this slowly, it's mind boggling. It's totally worth paying more or spending the extra time to go to any other post office.

Horrible customer service. Post office clerks at the counter are lazy and rude. They pretend they don't hear you.

Their job isn't easy so I appreciate their extra efforts.

When I finally got to the counter, the clerk told me that ONLY the supervisor can access the system to check for a change-of-address/validation letter. Here's the kicker: the supervisor went to lunch at 12:00 PM. I was there at 5:10 PM. That's over 5 hours later, and apparently, the supervisor never bothered to come back to work. No one else was authorized to help me. So my 50-minute wait was a complete waste of time. I understand people need breaks, but abandoning your post for an entire afternoon is inexcusable. If only one person in the entire building has system access, that person needs to be available during business hours. This is a federal service, not a food truck. Complete mismanagement and a total disrespect for customers' time. And this isn't even my first nightmare with this branch. A few years ago, I mailed a check through USPS from the drop box right outside this exact location, and it was stolen. When I went inside to speak with someone, they flat-out told me they can't stop thieves from raiding their mailboxes--even the ones sitting right outside their own office. So they knowingly leave unsecured collection boxes out front, admit they're powerless to protect your mail, and then make you wait nearly an hour just to be told the one person who can help took a five-hour lunch. The entire USPS system is fully compromised.

As I made my first step inside the store, I observed her to be seriously busy carrying a heavy looking box in her hands so particularly in that regard, her ability to greet an inquirer so warmly in such a stressful moment is absolutely a superpower that a lot of people in her position do unfortunately lack in today's world! Although I told her that she could take as much time as required to finish the task she had in her hands; she made me her one & only priority thus, surprised me in such a pleasing way. I have made sure that I would not leave the store without asking her what her name is, having received her incredible SERVICE, and just like her name, April literally brought a refreshing springy breeze to my experience and the lively color of her hair was like enough of a reason for me to visualize cherry blossoms in that swift interaction. This particular UPS store's indeed very lucky to have such a crew member onboard as April, who is totally capable of making you feel happy for still being able to encounter an offline, actual human interaction in today's ridiculously digitized online world; where our social laziness also translates to a serious lack of mindfulness and quite frankly and honestly, I don't know which one causes which. I am a 41 year old man and if anybody told me like even 10 years ago that one day in the not so far future, that I would find myself in rare situations where I would feel the need to say "Thank You" to someone, just for the Goodness in them, I would've only laughed out loud as that would sound odd under the circumstances of being a human back then. Thank you, April. I appreciate you. And if you see this, please remember to listen to the version of Lovesong by Adelle as per the conversation we've shared while The Cure's Original Recording of the song was playing in the store that time.
