I just walked out as I did not have another hour to mail a letter. UPS and FEDEX may be more expensive but at least they work in a timely manner.

I've lived in my house for 15 years & I've experienced mostly mediocre service from this post office, at best. I don't think I've ever received my mail before 5p (I've gotten mail as late as 8p) & I always seem to get everything late (magazines, bills, packages). One time a few years ago, I didn't get any mail for over a week & when I called the post office, I was told it was because it snowed that week & the mail carrier wasn't delivering to my subdivision because some people hadn't shoveled their sidewalks. I explained my sidewalk was shoveled & was told they didn't deliver unless all sidewalks were shoveled. Guess the old "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" doesn't apply to my post office. But I'm so frustrated with them now. I put a hold on my mail for a few days because I went out of town. I've done this before on line but always picked up my mail for fear I would never see it because the mail carrier wouldn't want to bring it to me. But I was only gone for a few days (3 to be exact) & yesterday my mail was to be delivered. No mail. I call, they tell me oh it will be delivered tomorrow. Today, no mail. I call again (now remember, my mail isn't delivered until late so I have to wait to see if it is delivered before I call) & I'm told, oh tomorrow. So I'm pretty sure I'll never get any mail again. Is it any wonder that the postal service is losing so much business? It is like they don't even try. Thanks Post Office, your useless!!

There's no one inside, but you can usually walk in and put your package in a mailbox. This location closed at 1:30 today and I was walking in at about 6pm, yet there was a postal woman working hard cleaning and scrubbing the windows and interior. She was so kind to me and said I could just set it on top of the desk because it was much too big to fit in the mailboxes -- even though the post office was 5 hours past closing. She then went behind the desk and scanned the item for me and put it back in the bigger bins. I thought this was a really kind gesture, because some post offices aren't even unlocked past their closing hours -- yet this woman took a decent bit of time out of her day to help me. I will be back if possible!!

When I walked in, they had employees at every register, and a young man called me over and explained I needed to go to FedEx when I gave him the box and label. He directed me to go to Walgreens Photo center, and they could take the package. He affixed the label to the box for me before I left. That was so nice! Even though I was skeptical the Walgreens Photo center could take my package, I headed over there and he was correct, I dropped off the package and it saved me a lot of time!

He also talked condescendingly to me as if he were the smartest person to ever live. (FYI: You work at a box store. I'm an engineer. You haven't done much with your life.) I'm an older lady that may not be as hip with the times as others may be. When I go to Festus store they have been gracious enough to help guide if I didn't understand something. The nice lady greeted me and asked me if I "started the return?" I did not understand what that meant. I technically didn't know there was a different process, so she told me where to go. Online. I attempted to do all of that by myself while she helped other people. When I thought I had completed it adequately, She called someone from the back to assist me. He didn't introduce himself. He didnt have a name tag on. Asked for the bar code. Which I promptly gave him the paperwork that the product had included in the packaging in case I needed to return, which had the barcode on it. Then he said "that means nothing to me" I was confused and asked for clarifications because this was suppose to be what I gave them per the company I purchased from. i had 3 papers with me. I handed all three to him. i couldnt have been more upset when he stated with a sarcastically condescending tone "you need to learn how read and follow directions" I've been a hospital nurse RN/BSN for 33 years. 9 of which I worked hospice. I am well versed in communication, written and/or otherwise, with the general public. I am a very compassionate person. I was astounded by this statement. Since he did not have a name tag on I asked nicely "and you are?" He stated " I am Bart, the owner" At that point I gathered my items and left- because I was so upset and hurt. I knew that it wouldn't get any more respectful. I felt defeated. Then as I got to the door he sarcastically said, "have a nice day ma'am". I'm sure if he spoke to me this way, then it's not the first or the last. It's very disheartening. No one should be spoken to like that. they should respectfully guided Gently. My husband saw how upset I was and he immediately went inside to talk to Bart. He asked him if he always spoke to people the way he just spoke to his wife? Bart tried to rationalize his actions and was Set straight by my husband in front of other patrons. I sincerely hope that he has learned the errors of his communication style or that he continues to be held to task for his disrespectful behavior. I sincerely hope he treats his employees with more respect than he showed myself or my husband. If you can. Go to a different location where they will help you with patience and grace!
