Great employees! Open later than most on Saturdays (4 PM) Needed to mail out a package on a Saturday and my local post office closes at 1 PM. We were grabbing some other items nearby so we stopped in here. The line was long, but the two employees were moving through everyone rapidly... even at the end of their shift on a Saturday (it was around 3:45) Only note: it would add more speed if they had a self serve package kiosk like most other post offices! But it honestly didn't matter with the later hours and efficient employees adding the value anyway. Not sure I'll be back... but if there ever is a Saturday afternoon need. We all know how post offices go and how much they don't change. More times than not, post offices would close rather than update. However, this one has survived and you can tell that. It is rather dated on the inside, in need of some love. Or maybe that can be a charming thing? I'm not sure, if felt more of a library in here than a post office with it being so eerily quiet. That is until one, out of place noise echoed through this building. Not one you would think that you would hear inside of a post office, not one that you particularly hear in a city for that fact. It happened to be that of a rooster. I kid you not. It really was that of a rooster. Cock-a-doodling in a corner of the building somewhere. When I approached the counter I was assured I wasn't hearing imaginary things, but that there really was a rooster in the building. I didn't ask any questions, I just decided to do what I was here for and kept on going on with my day. If that was going to be the weirdest thing I came across for the day, I was good with that. Parking lot was a bit crazy to maneuver as people seem to not understand what the lines on the pavement mean. read more

Still terrible. I still have a different mail delivery person weekly. Can't keep an employee? I should apply. Not sure what Happened to having the same person for years. Get neighbors mail constantly in my box. I've also had next door neighbors deliver my packages that ended up at their address. Some days there's no deliveries at all on my street when I'm expecting mail. Ads come Wednesday I believe and most of the time don't come until Friday. Sad service, worse management. read more

a THEIF works here. I run an online business and use the USPS to ship all of my packages. I drop off pre-label packages here which are then scanned into their system. Well, that's what supposed to happen. I have packages saying they are in pre-shipment that were dropped off a week ago. They existed, now they don't. Rude employees. They were dropped off, no question about it. I would not risk bringing your packages here, I will be switching to Fed ex. read more

Every time that I walk in I feel like I'm stepping into a cross between Seinfeld and Little Shop of Horrors. The line was eight deep when the gentleman being served decided it was necessary to inquire into the latest stamp options. Fine. He is brought out the various Water Lily and Battle of New Orleans options. Still fine. Then he asks if he purchases stamps in the year 2016 will they still be honored as Forever stamps as compared to his 2015 purchases. The man in front of me starts mumbling to himself with veins bulging. The lady behind me slams her envelope with exasperation. But my hero continues to inquire as to if the Battle of New Orleans stamps are limited edition and cannot grasp the meaning of a forever stamp. This continues to the point where I can't even be angry. It has long since past that. This place is just hilarious. read more

Surprisingly, I find this quaint community post office refreshing from the ones I've dealt with in the past. Sure typically there's only one teller most of the day but she's nice and knows a lot of the neighbors. As long as you don't let the familiar expectations of how typical post offices operate you'll have a decent time there. read more

Me and the USPS are by no means pals. It seems like the few residences that I have held back here in the 'Burgh have all had issues, and my most recent experience at the Bloomfield PO is no different (I shouldn't be surprised by this, yet somehow, I am. It could also just be disappointment). Because of recent mailing issues at our house, I decided to get a Post Office box (I actually like receiving my mail and prefer it not getting mis-delivered or stolen). I registered and paid online and it told me to go to the PO for the keys, etc. What a nightmare. The person (one person apparently can do this) was not available numerous days... She was either off or stepped out for a bit. I would come back- she's out again. Then I was told that I can have interim keys but they won't be the right ones. Why even give them to me? Service is just non-existent here. read more

Looking at some of the reviews, I have not had the same experiences that other people have had. The Clark's have all been very nice to me and our always willing to help. The carriers on the other hand I could write an encyclopedia about. Just yesterday a package was marked as on deliverable due to animal interference. I don't have a dog. I have very small indoor cats but don't go out. And yet the rest of my mail was delivered. It's amazing that these people do not think that I'm going to follow up on this crap. read more

It's impossible to get in touch with them as they take the phone off the hook and even Consumer Affairs can't get a response. So sad that this is the example of what USPS has become. read more

The Bloomfield post office can suck it. Seriously. I live a three minute walk from there and can't get a package delivered. According to tracking the delivery was attempted Saturday but because of ice they were unable. Ok I get that. Totally. Was supposed to be here yesterday and tracking stated they attempted at 221 pm but address was incorrect. Called post office today and someone named Anthony said he would deliver to me himself. Mail came, no package. Called back was told it would still be here. Waited hours. Called back and their line was busy for three hours. Checked tracking and it states delivery was attempted today at 546 but my receptacle was blocked. WTF!?! My receptacle is a wall mounted mailbox. I'm waiting on a tshirt (birthday gift for my dad). I'm so livid right now. If I go to the post office in the morning and my package isn't there I'm going to lose my mind. I'm freaking out and so angry. I want a job where I don't have to do any work and can make up lies for not doing it. read more

I have lived a lot of places and had a lot of post offices, and they've all pretty much been awesome, or at least functional. I understand their job is not easy, and occasional mistakes happen. I have NEVER had constant issues with USPS until moving to Bloomfield and having the grave misfortune to deal with this godawful post office. Our postman constantly only delivers half of our packages, then will mark the rest so that they show "undeliverable - ready for pickup" when you check the tracking number. a) They are NOT undeliverable; one of us works from home and is there all day. He never knocks, not to mention he happily leaves *some* of our packages on the porch. b) It's random which packages he chooses to leave; none of our packages are delivery signature required. He just doesn't want to make more than one trip to the truck. Sometimes these are packages we've paid extra to receive by a certain day, i.e., 2-day Amazon shipping for dog food - yet he marks it "undeliverable" and we get it 1-3 days later than the deadline, so we have to go to the store and purchase a spare bag for those days, which defeats the purpose of paying for expedited shipping. c) He updates the tracking number "undeliverable - notice left", but this is a lie. He does NOT leave (and never has left) a "we tried to deliver" notice, and he doesn't take them back to the post office for pickup. Instead, he leaves them in his truck and delivers them within the next few days, as we found out the two times we checked the tracking number and tried to go pick up an "undeliverable" package. He just marks "notice left" to cover his arse with his boss at the post office when people call and complain. Meanwhile, my mail gets left in his truck overnight, against regulations, where it could be lost, stolen, who knows what else? BESIDES all of this, he has lost two of our packages completely - not temporarily misplaced, lost as in gone forever, never located (the post office swears up and down that they were delivered, but they were NOT, which we know as one of us works from home and picks up the mail from the porch immediately). We suggested that maybe they were misdelivered and they insist that was not the case. However, we know that he misdelivers packages BECAUSE we are constantly getting neighbors' packages delivered to us - THREE already this week!!! - and having to walk them to the correct house. It isn't even always neighbors on our street. One was 1/3 of a mile walk up Penn. Again, wouldn't mind if this was an occasional thing. Human error happens. But this is CONSTANT. This is EVERY FREAKING WEEK, nonstop. I am not exaggerating. We have had this problem for the 7 1/2 months we've lived here, and we've recently started making multiple calls and complaints about this in the hopes of solving the problem (which we feel bad about since postmen have rough jobs and we've never had reason to complain about one before). But we have seen zero improvement or attempts to address these issues. I'm sorry, but this guy is in the wrong line of business. We're just ONE house, and if we're having these problems nonstop, it's a dead certainty that the other people on our route are experiencing issues too. Phone calls to the branch supervisor get a big fat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ attitude. It's like taking crazy pills; feels like we're being trolled at this point. read more

Okay... I debated whether to give this a one star or two star rating. I have lived in Bloomfield for about 30 years. My mail CONSTANTLY get sent back for one reason or other. My bank told me that this needs to be taken care of. My church asks me if I moved. I had invitations that have been sent back. Even today - I was told that I somebody sent me a invitation to a dinner - which got sent back. There are other apartments in my building. I am tire of going down to the post office and asking what is going on. It is NOT the clerk's fault - so I can't get upset with them. They take my name and tell me that they will give it to the manger. It is the same response over and over. When I want to get tickets to a show - I have to have them delivered to a friend's address on the other side of the town. I have no idea how much has been sent back over the years - I just know many items have been sent back. read more

Ok, so my experience at this post office has been relatively painless. Yes, there are generally fairly long lines and it's one of the worst errands to run, but this branch typically opens 2 (sometimes 3) lanes at a time. The worst thing here is when you receive a package and have to pick it up. They will take the slip, walk around in the back for what seems like a decade, and come back at some point and say they can't find it (this has happened 3 times to me). However, after a few seconds of pleading they go back and finally find it. They have to have a more effective way to do this. Anyway, compared to other post offices in the city, I will choose to go to this one over the branches in East Liberty and Oakland any day. read more

I agree with several others regarding the attitude of the clerks. I have lived in Bloomfield for several years and have walked into this place several dozens times. Probably 90% of the time I go, the clerks look irritated, roll their eyes, or get snappy with you. Not to mention, there usually are long lines with larger wait times. read more

Pretty rude experiences here every time I go. The clerks like to make you feel like you're a burden, often snapping their gum and rolling their eyes at people who have general mailing questions. I don't care for their attitudes here. You would think that with the USPS laying of staff left and right that maybe some of the clerks would want to fight for their jobs a little more.. The mailmen in this area are amazing though, and are polar opposite of the clerks. Friendly, helpful and very on top of things. Kudos to them for sure! read more

The other reviewers are dead on about the clerks' attitudes. They sometimes sit there and make you wait even when they're not busy. But my main complaint is: they will not deliver my packages to me. I was having problems with my packages being taken, so I called and asked them not to deliver packages anymore and that I would come pick them up. Now that the problem is gone (my neighbor moved) I have left notes to the mail carrier and called this post office to let them know they can resume delivery of packages. They do not get the message. I have a package right now that I should've gotten 2 days ago and still don't have just because these idiots won't take the hold off of my package delivery. Maybe the Post Office is trying to force everybody to do everything online by having the actual post office be sadistic. Total incompetence. I called Christmas Eve morning to see what time they would close today. The old lady on the phone said "4 o'clock" then hung up the phone. I arrive at 2pm to find closed doors. Another man came along who thought they'd be open until 4pm as well, we tried to get the attention of a clerk who gestured to us that they were closed. My nephew's christmas present is stuck there now. If they would have given me the correct hours, I would have gone down earlier. What bullshit! read more

The guy who delivers my mail is the regular guy on my route. His lack of a can do attitude is sickening since he is paid so well. It's around the first of the month and I haven't got any mail for the past three days. And this guy has a problem with me for what I do not know. I have him on video pushing my car mirror in at any given time he walks past my car. I confronted him about this. This went on for years until I figured it out. I always thought it was one of the kids going to school or coming home from the school at the top of my street. Silly me right? To think some overpaid mailman might be wasting his time by doing something so childish. My mirror has been hit 9 times so I now park on the sidewalk. I guess this bothers this guy. Well to bad mister there is plenty enough room for this man to walk past. Yet he always finds time to push the mirror in. I confronted him about it. of course he denied it but I think i'm going to the bloomfield branch to turn him in. I'm sick of not getting my bills so they can be paid. oh by the way i'll just say his first name (joe) in case you may be experiencing the same problem with not getting your mail. Awful! On more than one occasion I have been to this location and there are always lines. This is understandable during holidays but not on a regular day during off hours. Yesterday I went and there were only 3 people ahead of me. Despite this- both I and the man ahead of me waited for over 25 minutes. What I observed were 2 employees who are cordial but incredibly lackadaisical with respect to the growing line. There was no sense of expediency. I watched while they had casual conversation. At one point the line was almost out the door and even then, one of the staff opted to step away to do what seemed to be non-urgent behind the wall stuff. It's sad because this is my preferred location but I cannot go someplace where they clearly vested in interest in delivering timely customer care. If one goes to the nearby post offices i.e. Broad street or Squirrel Hill, much more productive and efficient staff. read more
