Came here to get photos taken for a Canadian citizenship certificate application. The associate that assisted me refused to look over the photo guidelines I brought. The process was really stressful and rushed due to so many customers being crammed into a tiny store waiting to be helped. The associate was impatient and did not give me time to closely measure the prints, and the ruler they gave me to verify the photo measurements was beat up and inaccurate. The photos ended up being the wrong size and poorly lit. Total waste of $20. When I emailed the store asking for a resolution, I received a really dismissive response. Avoid at all costs. read more

I'll take accountability in saying that I visited within the last 15 minutes before closing. I came in with a large box that I struggled to bring in due its size and weight, waited in line for most of this time slot, got to the counter and was demeaningly advised that they couldn't accept my box because it required more tape. I asked if it was possible if I could buy a few strips of tape from them and they declined--that's fine, because perhaps they're not allowed, nor it is their job. I then asked if I could leave the box on the side of the counter or on the floor (pushed to the side) so I could run out to the car and grab my tape, they stated I am not allowed to do that because they cannot be responsible for my package. While I understood that, I asked if they could please make a one time exception being that the box was a struggle to bring in, and my car is just right outside the facility; the answer was still no. At this point, it's about 4-5 mins before closing, I brought the box out to the car, wrapped it in tape like spider-man would wrap you in webs. It wasn't necessarily the taping that took up most of the time, but rather the transportation of the box itself. Once I got back into the store, it was about one minute before close. Another person before me was finishing up as I walked back in, I got to the counter and I was told they cannot service me with shipping my box because they're now closed. I asked if they could please allow me to ship it as it was literally the last day I had available before a move out of state, and he said "No". I had visited this store in particular because of their hours and convenience..or so I thought. These guys here are just merciless in the fact that they watched me have a hard time and seemed to have never had the intentions of being of service to begin with. I understand it's a busy location, but projecting any frustrations that come with such, onto people is unacceptable. Abusing your power is inhumane, shadowed by undertones of disrespect and then passing it off as just doing your job. Please keep in mind that parking, or lack-there-of, is like playing a game of duck-duck-goose. Which was what partly left me with that 15 min time slot, as I circled around the block countless times to catch a spot close enough to make it possible for me to bring that box in. Had I not gotten that spot, there would've been no way I could carry it into the store from a longer distance. I might just be visiting at the perfect time, every time, but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes in here (which surprises me, given its location). The employees are polite and knowledgeable. I've never had to do anything more involved than return some packages, so I'm not sure what other services they offer and how those go, but I'm always able to get in and out quickly and the location is very convenient. read more

This store could have cared less that I had an appointment to get something notarized. Usually anytime someone needs a notary it impacts something important in their life. Buying a house, signing a will, etc. Notarizing a document should not be taken lightly. I expected that when I made the appointment that they understood that. Unfortunately, their notary was not there, and the counter person made no effort to reach out to them, offer to me when they would return, co tact the manager, or suggest where else I could try. They simply did not show any concern. This is a poor reflection on UPS. My recommendation: Avoid this location at all costs, if you have anything of importance you want them to assist with. read more

Predatory pricing for boxes. I called ahead to ask if they had any, and the store gave me the price for packaging tape and said they didn't have the price for boxes on hand. Took me half an hour to get there only to find out that the price of 18" x 18" x 18" boxes is over $15 and the next sizes down still range from $10-$15. Absurd that Instacarting boxes or getting them shipped from Home Depot/WalMart is cheaper than getting a cardboard box here. read more

Was told on the phone to walk in for an appointment to fingerprint then when I got there was told very rudely I may not even be seen because I didn't have an appointment. Whoever answered the phone needs more training on their store. Needs more signage on where you're allowed and not allowed to stand. read more

I use UPS strictly to drop off packages as I have an account for my business. So all i need is a person to scan package and give me a receipt for acceptance of package. I walked in and the salesman was on the phone with a customer. He looked over to me and said he would be a minute. I waited and he came over and was very apologetic and apologized for the 2 minute wait. The service was fast and friendly and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Unbelievably disorganized, unprofessional and rude. My wife and daughter had an appointment. They arrived on time. Yet the young man behind the counter claimed they were 5 minutes late and refused to service them. This is after they drive 1/2 to get to the store. My wife asked to speak to the manager. Another young man claimed he was the manager and said you're late and we can't service you. Rude, disorganized, unprofessional, disappointing. Came here to get submit my Identogo fingerprints mid-day on Friday. I was expecting to get in and out within 40 minutes (the fingerprinting itself takes between 12-15) but was here for more than two hours. My name was not appearing​ on the UPS's identogo roster and I was treated as a walk-in​ despite having confirmation on my phone that I had scheduled an appointment. Bumping my review from 1 to 2 stars because eventually,​ the fingerprinting lady felt bad for me and called me over ahead of the next person with an appointment. I would highly suggest having an appointment because they keep the schedule double booked. When you have the appointment, it would probably be a smart idea to call the day before or the morning of to make sure they have you scheduled for the correct time. read more

Made an appt for a passport photo which was confirmed. I showed up, paid for parking, and waited in line 15 min only to find out they haven't offered this service since March as their photo printer is out of ink. Not apologetic at all. Terrible service. I visited this UPS to mail a package and to get fingerprints done for a background check. I really appreciated the kind and patient UPS employee who repeatedly redid my fingerprints when the computer did not like them. (My fingertips have given me trouble with background checks throughout my life, so I know that the rejection this time was not the fault of the employee or the computer. Thankfully, although the computer did not like at least half of my fingertips, the background check still went through. A computer is much better than ink.) Parking can be a bit tough to find nearby. I ended up being dropped off by my husband, who parked a few blocks away. 2015 update: I returned for another fingerprinting. Several people were in line ahead of me, but the fingerprinting went pretty fast for everyone. It took a few minutes or so at most for people. The employee was nice. read more

I really am starting to lose interest in UPS as a whole. I cannot count how many times they have damaged packages and I just ate cost on just because it's not worth the hassle. But back to this Forbes Avenue location. So most stores close at 6:30 or 7:00 and I drove 20 minutes to get to this location because I wouldn't make it to my local store in time. I was then told at 6:40 that they weren't printing labels but would accept packages with labels already on them up to closing time. So more or less just a drop off location. I know the rep. didn't know how far I drove to get there nor that if I needed a drop off location I would have been able to find one closer than 20 min away. I guess I'm annoyed by the fact that if a shipping company states they are open till 7 that all services should be made available within that store till close of business. That means printing a shipping label. I wasn't expecting anything to ship right there and then; the next morning would have been fine. I was simply just trying to get my package out is all so I wouldn't need to take time out of my work day to ship something. I researched to find FedEx is open till 8 in some locations and they print labels up till they close and will ship out next morning. Congratulations, I think I might rely on FedEx more in the future. read more

If using this store for ink fingerprints stop yourself, they charge 40.00 per card!!! Check in with your local law enforcement or sherif or police department. They charge 0.00-10.00 to do as many cards as you need. This place is a rip off. Added 1.17.2018: If you live in Allegheny County the police officers no longer do it. But there is a retired officer that does ink printing and he charges $40.00 for 2 cards (which is still cheaper than UPS). His website is phgfingerprinting.com or phone 412.965.4030. I have no idea how this location received low scores. The staff moved a large line very quickly. I should have gotten the name of a young man who worked there on 3 July around 4:30-5PM, but he was phenomenal in helping me with my package. In and out in less than 10 minutes with a huge line. When I was here the first time, the guy who served me did not charge me for taping up my box and though he did not know the answers to my questions, he clarified with a colleague, was patient and provided good customer service. So I went there again today to return an online purchase without taping my box prior. I was told by another staff I have to pay $2 to have my box taped. And I asked the staff why the discrepancy between my first time there and today, he insisted it was a mistake that I wasn't charged previously. So I decided to buy a roll of tape for $7, then he said I can leave my box on the desk and he'll tape for me with his tape, after I bought one! Well, why made a customer buy a roll of tape when it was your mistake misinforming us, and only to provide "free" tape after that? This is terrible customer service and there wasn't any visible sign on the counter that there is a charge on customers for taping their boxes. The staff was curt in his service and his attitude was really bad! He totally undid my positive experience and impression of the store from my first visit! P.S. I had to drop off a couple medium size boxes (approx 25-40 pounds each) and was lucky enough to find parking right outside of the store - this really made things easy for me. I already had my labels printed out and taped on the boxes so the process was super quick and seamless. They weighed each of my boxes and then charged the difference between what I estimated the weight of my boxes to be and the actual weight to my account automatically, so I didn't have to worry about paying anything in store. The entire process only took about 10 minutes or so. read more

Starting to get pretty irritated with this UPS store. I have been trying to get my finger print done for weeks. Made several appointments every time I come the line is insane. So finally decided to change my work schedule around to be the first appointment of the day. Came in 15 mins early as a courtesy. The guy in the front gave me attitude, as they usually do when you say you want to get finger printed. It's absolutely ridiculous. Most of us need this as a requirement for work it's not like we enjoy taking time out of our days to stand and line and be treated like crap by your UPS employees. I've been to other UPS locations outside of the city and they're never like that. If you hate your job so much quit. Your customer service is terrible.. and maybe add more locations since it's "so hard to get people in" for a 5 minute finger printing session .. read more

There is always a long line at this store. They charge you $3 for one strip of tape for your package. The alternative is that you buy ONE roll of tape from them for $7, which I did, and it is the cheapest, flimsiest tape I have ever used. I will never use this store again. read more

I went to this store to send a passport and important papers to the UK consulate in New York City. I had printed out a label for shipment. The guy at the counter seemed very nice, and I watched him put everything in the envelope. He said he'd seal it up and send it for me. The next day I get a call that the envelope arrived to the consulate intact, but my passport was missing. Of course I'm suspicious that the person who helped me stole it for either identity theft or the black market. I want to warn people to always seal up their own envelopes and put them in the bin, or watch the person do it in front of you. I learned a very tough lesson. I have a claim to recoup the costs of a new passport, but that is a drop in the bucket compared to the anguish I'm under replacing it and then getting another application to the UK consulate. read more

We went to have our fingerprints done through Identigo and selected the walk in feature. When we walked in, they would not do our fingerprinting even though no one was there. When asked, they said you need an appointment and we only do 9 per hour. Again, no one was there, yet we were turned away. After parking and pleading, still no help. This is ridiculous. I went here about a month ago, but had a positive experience and wanted to share! I had to get my fingerprinting clearance done for a job and so came here. The person who helped me was so nice and made the whole process quick and painless. We talked about the weather and he complimented my nails! Walked out on a rainy day with a smile on my face. I never write reviews but after the horrible customer service I've experienced throughout the last 3 months I felt compelled. The time, money and energy that I have spent fixing mistakes made my employees at this site is ridiculous. The mistakes have nearly cost me my job regarding in correct finger printing services. The employees unfortunately do not know what services they offer and do not offer. After being told to come in (on my lunch break) to get a prepaid label, I was told this was not something they offer. The employee I spoke stated "I am 'off' today". The supervisor offered no support. I will not be using UPS because of this specific site. read more

The good: my parcel was packaged very securely and well (that's the only thing that got them the 2 stars) The bad: when my parcel went missing (even though it was marked by UPS as delivered, when I was home all day), the only way I recovered it was through multiple calls to UPS customer service. (They first told me that it was mistakenly delivered to a different address on my street...an address that does not even exist...then somehow found it and completed delivery three days after having marked it as "delivered.") This UPS store's response? Five days later, they emailed to essentially say, "sorry, not our problem." Meanwhile, I had initially (incorrectly) contacted a different UPS store I the area, the one at 4885 McKnight Road, to report the same problem. Within 5 minutes, I had an email response directly from the manager, who then called me personally to discuss the problem. Suffice it to say, I will be using that store on McKnight Road (#0434) for all future shipping needs! (As an aside, I used to work as a VP in the UPS corporate office in Atlanta, and the McKnight Road store manager's response is what we would have looked for in an exemplary store.) read more

You can buy a box ($5) and place your items in the box yourself, or they can shadily whisk it away as you try to begin to package it yourself, and then charge you an extra $8 to throw stuff in and then slap some tape on it. And then on top of that, they took my box that I brought in with me...with no explanation. I should've charged THEM $5. And then $8 because, well, I don't really need a reason, do I? read more

Whatever you do do not come here for identogo or anything requiring fingerprinting? They run extremely late. The manager was great and accommodated all of the people still waiting after 6 but the person doing fingerprinting apparently didn't manage time very well during the day. If you value your time when getting fingerprints done, go elsewhere. read more
