I was in and out in a minute or two. Friendly and helpful service, couldn't ask for anything else.

An interaction I had with a postal worker at this site is pretty telling of the experience you will have here. Me: Do you have any of the Mary and Jesus Christmas stamps? Worker: No, they didn't make anything like that for Christmas. Me: What do you mean? I bought some at another post office and they had them. Worker: Oh, do you mean the mother and child stamps? Me: Yes. Worker: Oh, I didn't know that was supposed to be Mary and Joseph. Me: OK, can I have a book of those? Worker: No, we are sold out of those. Me: I want Christmas stamps. What other options do you have for Christmas stamps? Worker: Well, we have these great Harry Potter stamps. Because nothing says Christmas like Harry Potter! Especially when they still had three other Christmas stamp options... That story aside, this office is walking distance from where I work so I have been here several times. That is the only positive about this location. Every time I have been there, there were long lines and long wait times. Usually there is only one counter open. And that counter is behind thick glass. Probably bullet proof. Makes you feel really safe to be doing business there... Anyway, every time that there has been a long line, there were at least two or three other clerks visible behind the glass. Not sure what they were doing, but it certainly would have been helpful for them to actually assist the growing line of customers. Perhaps the worst experience here was when a cashier had to go on lunch break. She started counting down her drawer and closed down despite there being about 15 people in line. If you know there is a long line, can't you take lunch a little later and help all these people? Don't visit this post office unless you don't have any other options or don't mind spending most of your lunch hour in line. read more

My regular postal carrier is wonderful. He's helpful, polite, and he always checks to be sure we have the correct mail. I just hope he doesn't get moved to another route, because every single time we get a good mail carrier, they are moved to another route. It's absolutely maddening to keep dealing with the inept carriers! *One carrier had a really bad attitude, and I ended up asking my husband to deal with the problem. I stopped the new carrier and tried to explain that we have our name and address on the mailbox, as well as an 8x10" sign above it. Despite this, he put the wrong mail in my box. He snipped at me that he doesn't read the name, just the address. I said the address was wrong. He raised his voice and told me if I had an address on my mailbox, he would have known. I pointed to the name and address (written around the box and also written on the flap). He began yelling at me! *One carrier threw my mail on the wet ground as it was raining. He didn't even try to deliver it to the box! *One guy stood on the sidewalk and threw the stack of mail towards my porch. Mail went flying everywhere, so I called my husband to talk to the carrier. My husband was driving home and saw the carrier a three houses up the street. The guy flat out lied and denied it, even as my husband said I saw him do it! *One carrier was in ripped sweat pants and tshirt and was so busy talking on her phone the entire time that she wasn't paying any attention to her job. *Several carriers refuse to deliver to my house when they hear my dogs barking, even though my front door is closed. *The latest substitute carrier keeps delivering mail from a completely different street and with a completely different name. The only thing similar is the number! *We've had a few substitute carriers deliver mail for my neighbors, not deliver my package, or give us mail from several streets over. The manager I used to talk to was moved to another location. He was very helpful dealing with delivery issues. Unfortunately now I cannot get decent help to fix these ongoing problems. Good post office, but what really grinds my gears is that I had 3 packages sitting on the desk of a postal supervisor for 3 days. I had to call down here on my own to find out that they were being kept at the post office. Everything worked out but I was still a tad peeved that they mail carrier wouldn't have just tried to deliver to me. read more

The workers are the only decent aspect of this office. Living in the service area for 2+ years, I have never entered and exited the office in less than 30 minutes. There is only ever 1 service worker at the window even when there is a line that extends out of the lobby. Peak times like lunch & after work are so crowded that it is best to avoid them all together. read more

Wildly unhelpful. I'm also going to put down my exact conversation from today: "Can I get tracking on this? "We can't put tracking on a business reply mail envelope. You'll have to put it in a new envelope." I leave the post office, walked around the block and realized they'd probably have envelopes I could buy there. I walk back in and grab an envelope. "Will this work?" She nodded her head and then she handed put a pen through the window. I picked up the pen, she said, "You'll need to get certified mail, the envelopes are behind you." I was like, "I literally just asked you if this would work" and she said "It's $6.45 for certified mail." and I said "You can't just add it to any envelope? I've done this before and it was just a couple dollars to add it." and she said "I've worked here seven years and you've never been able to do that." and I said "Nevermind I'll just go to another post office." Why not offer this to me the first time? Why let me wander around trying to decide what you can technically get with a tracking number? read more

I just want to say just how "wonderful" and helpful Jeff was with getting a package delivered for me!!! There had been some issues, but after talking with him, he took care of it for me, thank you soooo much!! Jeff you are a great asset to the Post Office and if anyone else is to see this, this man deserves a raise! I'm sure he was busy but took the time to get this resolved for me! My fathers birthday card was opened at the northside post office and his money was removed from the inside of the card...!!!! I know this, because the Homestead post master told my father, that the Northside Post office has a problem with their machinery !!!!! Are you kidding me.....They are theives .....even the Homestead post master is in on this....She has been aware of the problem for some time now..... Something is rotten in the Homestead/Northside post office.... If I didn't have to use this post office because of where I lie I would NEVER use it! Firstly, this post never drops off my mail. They say they do but packages don't. I only get a pink slip. I have dogs, I sleep downstairs when I know they will be coming so I'd KNOW. EVERY TIME I bring my pink pickup slip I get attitude. EVERY. DAMN. TIME! There is also no parking. With only like three people working there why are all of the parking spaces taken at 9 in the morning?! Seriously! If I could pick up my mail at any other post office I would but don't have the option. Such fail here. read more
