Most days no staff so you can't purchase anything. If there is no staff then the machines are down and wont take a credit card. Or better yet today not a single employee in sight with a line of people. I rang the bell nothing . No signs saying any one is lunch , NOTHING ! This is the worst USPS in terms of wait times. There is literally no more than 1 person working the counter at all times and it takes 15 minutes a person...meanwhile they will have another person just yell to drop off prepaid packages. Maybe this person should help the Lone Ranger at the counter? Expect to wait here for an hour to get something as simple as stamps. This post office is the most convenient for me. I routinely experience difficulty in getting packages delivered to their destination; the most recent experience is going on 14 days and still showing in transit but running late. No updates from USPS in 10 days. We've had much better experience driving the package to NJ USPS offices, or using UPS or FedEx read more

I recently had such an aggravating experience at this post office I have to write an update. About a month ago I came here to pick up a package that UPS decided not to leave at my door (though they usually do). There is a separate window for package pick-ups, and I walked over and rang the bell. Literally there is a sign that says "WINDOW HOURS ____" and a bell that you ring to get someone to help you. I wait and wait and wait, and no one comes. So I sneak over to the main window in between customers to ask the employee what I should do, and as am about to ask the guy if someone is working the package window, he yells at me to "GET IN LINE!" I try to ask him if the procedures have changed, because I never have had to wait in the regular line to pick up a package, and all he says back to me is "I'M THE ONLY ONE HERE, I CAN'T WORK BOTH WINDOWS." So I proceed to get in line and wait for people who came in AFTER me to do what they needed. The least the employee could have done after making me stand there and not saying anything to me about the window being closed would be to assist people in the order in which they arrived. When I finally get to his window and present my pick-up slip, he asks for my ID. OK, whatever, normally all I'm asked is for name and address verification (verbally). I show him my ID, and he asks me to take it out of the wallet. Fine, I do this. Then he has me fill out my address on the credit card machine screen. Note that I've never had to do this either. As I'm doing this, he yells at me for not f'ing PRINTING my information. I'm sorry, but I don't think it's your job to criticize my HANDWRITING. As I'm leaving the post office, an older gentleman walks up to the same package window and rings the bell. I told him he needed to get in line, and he was visibly confused. The employee I just dealt with then proceeded to yell in his direction as well. Needless to say, this experience was beyond annoying. The attitude of this guy was especially poor, and I have to believe that the man that Mathieu C. referred to in his review was the same man who I dealt with. So, I go back for another package like a week later and the same guy is working. This time I just get straight into the line. When I get to the window I automatically hold my ID up to the glass. He then gets this shit-eating grin on his face and says, "I remember you." Like EYE was the one that had an attitude problem that day. Anyway, I now do whatever I can do avoid this place, including having things shipped directly to me at my place of employment. So much for customer service. read more

It is difficult to write a review about that United States Post Office, or the USPS in general, without copious expletives. This Post Office is consistently the worst Post Office I have ever visited, and I dread the days when I have to set foot inside. The staff is generally incredibly slow, rude, arrogant, and just plain nasty. You will often hear them in the back having loud conversations while there is a line of people out the door. The one older black gentlemen acts as though he is king of the Post Office, and everyone and everything is an inconvenience to him. I have never seen an employee show an ounce of hurriedness, compassion, or general care for their job. The general mood of this place is somber, with a tension so thick you could cut it with a box cutter. I have had several packages lost by the USPS, and my girlfriend has had two packages damaged in ways that are almost comical (except broken antiques are never comical). She has called every phone number that she was given, she has written emails as well as hand-written letters, and not one soul at the USPS seems to care. When she calls the number that she was informed to call, it goes straight to an answering machine. When she leaves her name and information no one gets back to her. Does anyone seriously question why the USPS is going under? A pack of wild monkeys could do this job more proficiently, and probably with a better attitude. I recommend doing everything you can do to avoid this Post Office, and any other Post Office. We will continue making phone calls, writing letters and emails, with our broken goods unaccounted for. read more

Boo! I have never been here without a line. Seriously, it does not matter what time of day you arrive you will wait in a line and it will probably be a long one. There's usually one less than thrilled person working the window and you will probably get some attitude. If I was not forced to go here to pick up my packages I would avoid it all costs. They used to have a broken stamp machine but I think it's now entirely gone. It's dirty and gross looking and not usually stocked very well with packaging needs. Sometimes our local mail person likes to make sure I don't have to go pick up packages by leaving my package in my door to be stolen, this has happened approximately three times in 3.5 years. I complained once at the Frankford Post Office and they told me "a storm door equals delivery". I go out of my way to travel to the fourth street post office to avoid the asshats at this post office. Maybe they need more funding/employees and it's not their fault. Or maybe they're just mean. If you can, avoid this post office and save yourself some precious time. read more

Quite possibly the worst post office. It it weren't for the location I can imagine most people would not go here out of choice. They are always understaffed, packages take forever to process if dropped off, and the line is always extremely long due to them being understaffed. Additionally I've never experienced more rude employees both in service inside and when parking and being told you cannot park inc locations where there is no signage stating otherwise. read more

This post office location on Frankford Ave is a complete shit show. Last week I walked in and nobody was there yet I heard people yelling at each other in the back room. Today I went in to mail a passport renewal application and the lady was so rude! I thought post offices were used to mailing passport applications regularly so I assumed they would be more helpful but she just barked at me for trying to use an express envelope without a form. Been going here for years and the people behind the glass became family. Between the great music talks and the funny jokes they always make my day. They recently took a huge loss due to covid as 2 employees passed away which broke my heart. i didn't know the carrier who passed but i did know Dan and he's was such a great guy and always so helpful. Then there's Erin who funny as hell, gets my transaction done fast and accurate, and has truly been a blessing in my life regarding personal reasons. Many times, I had seen people bring small dogs in there without being told this was not allowed. So one time, I brought my small dog in there and was patiently and politely waiting in line, she was not causing any problems. Then a large, aggressive postal employee pointed and yelled at me to bring her outside - everyone was shocked and startled at his hostile, violent explosion. As I gathered myself after this verbal assault to leave (because I follow rules), I mentioned I had seen other people in here with their dogs - he immediately screamed "NO YOU HAVEN'T! NO YOU HAVEN'T!" - again, his entire demeanor and yelling was completely uncalled for - calling it unprofessional and discourteous is a serious understatement. In the face of possible bodily harm, I stood up for myself and said "Yes, I have, please don't tell me that I didn't see what I know I saw." - I left the post office unable to conclude my business there, it was a terrible experience. I've had the displeasure of working with this person before - he has a terrible attitude towards customers and would have already been fired from any private sector company. read more

Terrible, just terrible. A soul sucking place. I have never been in and out of this place - even to just purchase stamps. There is always a line that just moves like molasses on a cold winter's day. The attendants are always grumpy. The straw that broke this camel's back happened recently. I went away and so had my mail held - i picked the option to pick it up at my local branch just in case I wasn't home to receive it. So I wait in line - while holding my 9 month old - which is expected. Imagine my annoyance when, as I am next in line, one of the attendants helps the woman behind me (he addressed her by name so I guess they know each other). After she gets her package, somehow BOTH window attendants disappear for a few minutes. . . can ya say annoying? so one of the attendants returns, I walk up to the window, tell him I am there to retrieve my mail and . . . he disappears for almost 10 minutes. In the meantime, the other window attendant helped 5 customers. When the attendant helping me comes back he has 4 piles of mail that he just hands me, which I juggle while still holding the aforementioned baby. Are my expectations too high to think a bag would have been nice. (mental note to bring one next time I go away). read more

Though the wait times often exceed the 5 minute standard, the employees are overall very nice. Very slooooooow moving, but pleasant. There's a sign on the wall saying that if your wait time exceeds 5 minutes, you can call a number to complain, but I've never done that yet because when I get to the window the clerks are pleasant enough to make my sour mood turn around. read more

I know Post Offices are often a cause for bitching and moaning, but OH MY GOD this has got to be the worst one I've ever been to (including the one on Dickinson St., which I will say is a close second) I was there at 2pm on a Wednesday and there was a giant, unorganized line. They have 4 windows available, but only one guy working. The couple in front of me (who kept wandering in and out of the line having a SUPER loud conversation/argument the whole time) went up to the window and asked the guy behind the counter about the slip he was holding and was he supposed to pick up the package here. The guy gave him a nasty look and said "NO!" The dude with the slip says "Okay, then where can I pick it..." and the guy behind the counter interrupts him and shouts "Sir, I am going to help you!". What an asshole. I finally get up to the counter and ask if I can buy an envelope and a book of stamps and I get glared at at he shoves them through the window. I swipe my card and he's looking away talking to someone. He looks bad and says "Ma'am. Swipe. Your. Card! I did AGAIN, said thank you and walked away. Went to go address the envelope and there isn't a single pen in the place. What a giant crap hole. I have never seen someone be so rude to people for no reason. Under no circumstances will I ever come here again. read more

Unfortunately I have to write a bad review here. Attempted to get a PO box today, one of their Commercial mailing boxes. They have a giant banner above the door promoting it no less. After waiting in line, I was told "I don't know anything about that. I don't even look up when I come in". She followed up with a look that said "I just work here and I'm doing the bare minimum". After trying to get more information she just blankly stared at me. I left baffled of their complete lack of understanding of their own services. If it's a little further to the next location, do yourself a favor and go there. If i could give less than one star I would. I dropped off my packages to a woman on a monday morning. She lost them immediately or STOLE them. My recipients never got their items and the tracking number shows no updates. I called this location hoping to get some help, and their "manager" named Shawn told me there's nothing he can do for me and that he's not going to even look around. I'm writing this to acknowledge one of my favorite small business tools, the United States Postal Service. I feel like it can be easily overlooked how many hands and how much magic goes into living in a world where mail can travel from Philadelphia to Colorado in 2 days for $2.70. Anyhow, I appreciate the hell out of my local USPS crew. For my small business, we're in here once, sometimes twice, a day with about 50 First Class or Priority packages, and everyone there is always super friendly or funny or chill and takes care of us. Worst post office ever. I'm an online seller and a big customer of the post office and send out packages every day, and unfortunately this is the closest post office to me. It's part of my job to come here, but all they've done is make that part of my day a living hell. The one man Percy nearly brought me to tears when he insulted me for not paying attention to what he was doing, and failed to ask me what method I wanted to send me my packages. Every time I go back, there seems to be a new rule that I've never heard at any other post office before about having new documents to drop off packages or something else that inconveniences myself and surely other frequent shippers. Today I came in with 25 parcels to ship and they made me go to the end of the line after every 10, so it took 3 rounds for them to ship off my packages and an hour of my time. I've been to plenty of other busy urban post offices that still manage to hire positive and competent employees that don't try to shame and bully all the customers that come in. In the future I will consider taking the bus to a further post office to avoid the emotional damage. read more

Completely agree with the other review for this post office. The lines and the attitude are super annoying. The extra star is for location. It is near my home and my mailbox is super small, so I often have to pick up packages there. I really wish this place were a better experience. Bring your iPod or play a game on your phone. It is the only way to make a visit there moderately tolerable. read more

I can deal with a long line. I can deal with the complete lack of parking. I can even deal with the fact that this post office doesn't even try to deliver a package and instead just leaves constant pink notes telling me to pick up my package. I CANNOT deal with the way that the employees treat their customers. I've never been treated worse at a place of business. I picked up a package on a Thursday after they "attempted to redeliver" (I was home all day--they didn't try). I got another slip that Friday saying they tried to redeliver the package again. Thinking it might be a different package (it was my birthday week so I thought maybe it was a gift) I drove to the post office to pick it up. The woman looked at my slip, threw it in the trash, gave me a dirty look, and told me I picked it up already. I said I understood, but I wanted to make sure I didn't have a second package there as I was waiting for something to arrive. She decided that talking slowly to me might make me understand that she somehow knows I don't have a package in my box without needing to look. She shook her head took a deep breath and then walked away saying "I can't deal with this girl." I wish I could say I'll never go back, but if I get a package I will have to since I know they won't redeliver. read more

I have to say that I've never being treated with such blatant disrespect in my life. Before even saying"hello" or anything, the woman told me I needed to wipe the ten raindrops off my package. I asked if she had any paper towels and she said no. Then someone had already put their packages in the slot so I was unable to close the window and fit mine in. She said "you're not even going to try and angle it or something". What she didn't notice was that there was no way to fit the package in since someone behind me had already put theirs in. The supervisor came out and asked that I bring it to the door when she realized there was no way my package and his were fitting. At this point, I was counting to ten to not lose it. When I brought it to the door, another men was there waiting for his package. I slipped the package through the opening on his right to the woman who was waiting. She then said "you're not even going to say excuse me?". At that point I was just biting my tongue because if I were to talk it wouldn't have been nice. This woman clearly hates her job. You have to give respect to get it, lady. Hope you find a job that helps you be a nicer person because clearly working at the post office has made you pretty much the most disrespectful person I've even met. read more
