Most of the time it's understaffed, and most of the employees look miserable. Pretty average place.

If I could avoid going to this place I absolutely would! in fact I do, I would rather drive to Des Plains post office before I go to the Park Ridge one. Most employees here are not very nice, they have no customer service skills. I been here plenty of times and I am not changing my mind. I feel that they know we as customers NEED their services and they are right but they also need the business so they should care about their customers. It is impolite when you are standing in front of them and they barely acknowledge you and they keep on with their conversation amongst themselves and or with customers they know who probably go there in a regular bases. I have lived in this community for 30 years and the mail service is probably the most exasperating. You never know who is getting your mail cause you are getting other peoples'. Two days ago I got no mail but got all of a neighbor's. Yesterday no one on my block got mail. When I called today I was told regular mail person called in sick for 2 days and today also. The relief carrier did not know the route, fell down and it got too dark to deliver. What a way to run a business!! If there were zero stars that's what I would give the Park Ridge post office on Busse and Greenwood this morning I was in line for 40 mins Rick the postal worker at the counter was alone I asked that he call for help he then paged the postmaster Calamady Winbush Smith he paged her four times never did she respond or come up to the counter to help. Meanwhile the Customers were frustrated rightfully so your post office is the worst I've seen and ur postmaster unless she's deaf or was sick should be fired read more

Barbara, who works at the Park Ridge Post Office, is AMAZING!!!!!!! I acccidentally "mailed" an envelope filled with cash (no address or stamp on it) when I mailed my bills this morning and Barbara took charge & helped find it in no time at all!!!! She called me back immediately to let me know it was found & I'm sooo grateful!! Thank you Barbara for your wonderful customer service & your cheery voice & all your help!! Understaffed! Old pain and scary light. Need and makeover ASAP. I waited for a long time just to pick my mail. I did however give them an ok review just because two out of 3 employees had a really nice attitude and did not create a stressful wait time. read more

This is the worst Post Office I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. The home delivery is erratic at best. Frequently the assigned carrier does not show up for work, and there is no mail that day. Letters and parcels addressed to me are routinely delivered to the wrong address, and I seem to get a letter addressed to someone else in the neighborhood every few days as well. As an example, I waited for a Priority Mail Parcel last Thursday that was 2 day guaranteed mail. I received a tracking email that the parcel was out for delivery at 9:00 am. I waited all day, and no one showed up, and no notices were left. I tried calling the Post Office at 4:45 PM, and the phone would ring about 20 times until someone picked it up and immediately hung up the receiver again. I tried this 3 times in a row, and was hung up on every time. I finally went to the Post Office at 5 PM trying to get the parcel, only to be told it was still out for delivery, and to go home and wait. I received another tracking email at 6:00 PM (closing time at the Post Office) that a notice was left at 9:30 AM and the parcel was undeliverable. Obviously the notice was "back timed". I can only infer it was either too big for their satchel, or too heavy to carry a block. Or just a lazy carrier. I do not know. I found this infuriating as there was no signature required, and no reason not to leave the parcel if indeed the delivery person was ever at my house. I was home at that time, and the dog was in the window all morning and would have barked had anyone come to the porch. I went up the following morning to this wretched Post Office to get the parcel. The employees were extremely rude and uncooperative, and definitely did not care at all about the service they are supposed to be performing. I finally got the parcel after threatening to call my US Senator's office that morning to lodge a complaint. This place is horrible, and needs to be closed. This is an example of our tax dollars at work. I believe the postal delivery service needs to be privatized, and everyone working for it now fired. read more

Extremely understaffed ALWAYS. I have been standing in line for 30 minutes with a huge line behind me. The supervisor is sitting at her desk ignoring the huge line, too. There was one person working the desk and a second person showed up. Naturally, I'm thinking that things will move faster now that the second person turned up to help but NO, the first person closes his cashier and there's still only one person here to help everyone. There is no sense of urgency whatsoever. Annoying especially since it's the holiday season and they know that they will be busier than ever! read more

Do not go to this post office. Go to Niles or Des Plaines. I tracked a package to this post office and asked them to hold it because it had the wrong delivery address on it. They said they would hold it and call me when they find it. I called later and they had sent the package out with the carrier. They have lost my kids college books Why have a tracking system if they don't use it. They are very slow and inconsiderate. read more

Really tired of having carriers who do not know the difference between and N and an S. Got yet another package for the folks on the south end of the street. I left the mis-delivered box with a note to send it to the correct location under my mailbox. Of course, the carrier couldn't be bothered to take it. So, it will sit on my front steps until someone steals it or it is ruined by the rain. I am no longer going to deliver it or take it to the PO. You can't notify the post office as no one answers the phone, and it you call the USPS 800# it is a 30 to 40 minute wait. You also cannot send an email. So sorry to folks on the other end of the street, but I am done playing post office on your behalf. read more

The kiosk worked fine with no issues. It was only printing large postage label (so not for envelopes) but that was fine with as I was sending packages. So don't write addresses on packages as large label allows you to add address info on label. Kiosk open 24/7 so thats convenient! read more

The woman that manages this post office is the pits. She was chomping on potato chips as she was talking to me. She didn't listen to what I asked and after trying to explain what I was looking for she put me on hold and never came back. The mail should be delivered four days a week and this post office should be open only on Fridays. They're lucky I don't rule the world. read more

8pm and still no mail. This is the worst and slowest postal staff I have ever seen. I cannot wait for the day that a private company (FedEx) takes over mail delivery. I cringe every time I buy something online and see that it will be shipped USPS. read more

I hardly ever write reviews but I felt compelled to write this one I have not received any mail for the past 2 months. I have mailed myself postcards and empty envelopes just to see if I get any of them well that would be a big NOPE. I noticed a sign by my neighbors mailbox asking the carrier to put the mail in the correct box as her mail kept being delivered to another neighbor down the street. read more

Customer service here is absolutely terrible. I work for an accounting firm and we are sending out hundreds of tax returns this time of year. We pay extra to send them out either Priority Mail or First Class with tracking. On more than a dozen occasions we've tracked the returns and they either end up with a final status of 'In Transit - Delayed' or some of them never even get a status of received. We never know whether the documents are getting to our clients or not. These materials have personal/sensitive information on them so we need to be sure these are getting in the right hands. On several occasions we've had to track down packages that haven't been delivered. After waiting on hold for an average of an hour and a half per phone call someone asks me if I'm sure I put it in the mailbox in the first place. I've also had them tell me there's nothing they can do and they won't search the facility because there are thousands of pieces of mail there. Only to track it a month later and it'll say it's out for delivery. Which to me can only mean that it's been sitting in the post office for a month but they can't be bothered to look for it. I can't pay $20 per return to send everything UPS/FedEx so this is my only option but why am I paying to send it Priority if correct tracking information is not going to be provided? You have one job USPS... very disappointed... read more

Why is it that whenever I mail ANYTHING in the boxes directly outside of the Park Ridge Post Office it gets lost? It took 2 weeks for a letter I mailed to get from Park Ridge to Norwood Park. I could have walked it there. read more

I have lived in Park Ridge for 15 years. Delivery has always been an issue. couple times the carrier was 1 house off and delivered next door neighbors mail down the street. The lobby is another issue. Busy and never enough people to work the stations. I used to work at a bank, if you were at break you would be called back if there was a lobby of customers to take care of. Then we went back to our break/lunch. We serviced our customer first. I also work in Park Ridge in an office Center off Northwest Highway. our main carrier always has an issue. too busy, not busy enough, too many packages, never has a good word to say about his employer. Never get a hello how are you from him. and when I ask how he is doing, he either complains about something or gives me a grunt. so I no longer ask. Just hello and thank you. he is on vacation quite often or on medical leave, gets hurt on the job. it is so pleasant then to have a friendly substitute carrier. and in the winter or summer, half his route are the office buildings and some of the neighborhood. Not like most who have to brave the freezing temperatures, rain and then heat and humidity. read more

No mail delivery for that last two days and when I call and ask about when delivery will resume I get attitude and no apology or a thank you for calling. Like the other comments on here this Post Office is one of the worst. They should really do something about the guy with the dead cat on his head, he smells awful, really hate to have him wait on me, can't breathe cuz he smells so bad. Staff is friendly but performance stinks. I've filled out mail hold cards but mail still gets delivered. Filled out forms to have mail forwarded but it still goes to old address. Staff admits screw-ups, but all they offer is their hope that performance improves. Who's training these people? read more

We had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience at this post office due to the incompetence of Bernadette. This is regarding passport issuance. I made my appointment months ago. At that point, the person on the phone repeatedly broke off and was speaking to others in the office. Completely uninterested and inattentive. Finally we get the appointment set. Fast forward 4 weeks - Our family arrives on time for our appointment only to be told that we were not on the list. They had another appointment booked for this time, it wasn't us, and they were nowhere around. Instead of taking us, she made us wait 15 minutes. Our paperwork was completed, we had our pictures in hand as well as our expired passports. She refused to service us until our 15 minute wait period was up. This type of do-nothing service, laziness, lack of respect, stick it to the customer attitude is intolerable. I will not go back to this office again. I've never done a Yelp review before, but feel I must be heard and hope to let others benefit from our TERRIBLE experience. So aggravated with this place. read more
