We went to the Glenview Post office for electronic fingerprinting services. The gentleman my wife and I worked with could not have been worse or cared any less. He claimed it was the fault of the equipment. He most certainly did not want to process us. We actually went through the same situation, same Post office and same guy several months back with the identical result (shame on us). The Glenview Post office on Patriot is the WORST place to go for this service and customer service is a zero. What a complete waste of time! And the operator was a real jerk both visits. Ended up going to Libertyville Post Office and got quickly, efficiently and accurately processed, all without any appointment. Paid $10.10 for Priority Mail on Weds 3/12/2025. Today is 3/19 and the only scan on my package is when the clerk scanned it right in front of me. Since then, no scans at all,......what happened to it? Tomorrow is the first day I can even ask for an investigation. Priority Mail is a ridiculous ripoff!! Really not sure what I paid $10.10 for? Had an URGENT PACKAGE sent from another destination with a delivery date of 1/31. For no explained reason the package now says delivery date 2/7 and is just SITTING at Glenview facility for DAYS ON END! In so furious because the package contains time sensitive materials causing total upheavals in my life! Do they care no? CHARGE MORE IF NEEDED TO RUN A PROPER POSTAL SERVICE! The head of the us postal service needs to be FIRRD. If the agency is run out of money raise your rates like UPS or FED-X to stay operational! Service at this post office has been mediocre at best. I can mail a letter or package, but feel that service provided by this location has been unacceptable. Things I have personally experienced: -Mis-delivery of mail meant for my address (to neighbor's mailboxes) -Placement of other resident's mail in my box (those that currently live in the neighborhood) -Unable to cash money orders because there is never enough cash in the register (after multiple visits and calling first). Eventually they sent me away to "any" bank - which was not true because not just any bank will cash a Postal Money Order. I had to travel pretty far to my own bank to resolve this. -Mailboxes left unlocked Other complaints I've heard about in our neighborhood: -Packages were being left on top of the cluster boxes as well as on the curb instead of being delivered to resident's doors. - read more

I stopped in the post office this morning to mail a couple packages and was the second person in line. Fifteen minutes later, I was still the second person in line, and the number of waiting bodies in line extended to the door. It also took that long for somebody to finally realize that there should be more than 2 clerks offering service to customers. It seems like it doesn't matter when I stop in this post office, but there's always atleast a 15 minute wait. Grumble grumble. read more

Apparently I have been spoiled by this USPO because it is open 24 hours, while other area locations close down at 5:30 (Niles) or 6:15 (Skokie) or 7 (Evanston). I guess that when Uncle Sam was handing out post offices, Glenview thought that he said "gross orifices" and asked for a shiny clean one that is open around the clock. Lucky! read more

Was just helped on the phone by Ms. Madison and Joy Abraham with a package my grandmother sent. She forgot to take off the old labels and was using a used box so the package got rerouted far from home and was a total mess. Ms. Madison and Joy went and found the package and were able to reroute it to the proper destination, completely MAKING my Christmas this year. There were special items my grandmother picked out specifically for us and I was absolutely thrilled with the customer service of this post office, especially over the phone! Thank you, thank you!!! The carrier was trying to deliver the package but we were out of town. When I got the slip with address I needed to pick up the package, I drove to the address listed. The package was not there. They suggested me to go to another post office location. Since I saw the option to redeliver, I scheduled the package to be redelivered next day and got my confirmation number. Of course, package never came. I drove out to post office in glenview and spoke to supervisor since regular clerk was not too much help. He promised to contact me after he finds out about all situation. He never did. The mistake was made 3x in the row. Honestly I'm speechless and not even sure why I'm leaving this review here cause reading other reviews, it's one of the worse facilities and no improvement has been made. read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. I avoid this place like the plague. If I have to mail anything, I go to the Northfield post office. When you call to check on a package, they are rude. It's never anybody's fault that things don't show up. I routinely get my neighbors' mail. And if I complain, I won't get my mail for days and days. I've gotten a note on my mailbox that my mailbox was not accessible because a car was parked in front of it. Dear god, they need to overhaul this entire station. It's just plain terrible. read more

Worst service ever.....I had enough today and walked out. Only 1 counter person at 3pm. At least 10 people waiting in line. This is constant. Some of the counter people are really rude. I drove to Morton Grove where they had 3 people behind the counter and I was out in a jiffy. I go to the post office at least twice a week. By far the worst post office I have ever dealt with. They have nobody to run the route to a business so we continually get our mail after 4pm everyday and some days it doesnt even come before we close at 5pm. For years we used to get our mail before 9:30am and all of a sudden they have nobody to do the route for all of 2019. On top of it if you finally get through to talk to someone on the phone you will most likely be yelled at, yes I said yelled, and told your mail will come when it does. 2019 is the worst year of mail ever. Do not rely on this post office for anything and if you live in Glenview, you will understand the pain of how poor this post office is run. Side Note, the delivery drivers are always very nice and apologetic about the mail coming so late and just continually say nobody wants the route and the post master does a poor job of scheduling the routes and changed it all up. Two day delivery sent by me arrived 4 days later (all week days!) Three days in a row postal carrier didn't even show up to my house. My neighbor brings me mail at least once a month that was delivered to her. Packages from Amazon marked as delivered, yet nothing arrived (and I was at home!). I don't come to the PO very often, but I had a heavy envelope, and I wanted to have it accurately weighed to pay for the correct postage. Typically, when I come to this PO, there are 2 or 3 people working at the counter [which can accommodate 6] and a line of 15+ people standing in line waiting for service. Today, I walked in and there were two clerks at the desk and only one clerk was occupied with a patron. As I started walking towards the clerk who was doing nothing, she walked away. Now, I don't come here regularly, so she was not avoiding me, and she would not have known of Richard B, the Glenview Geezer. She just drifted into the back room. The other clerk is busy with one patron who does not speak English, and I continue to wait, and wait, and wait for about 10 minutes. Still no second clerk. The line behind me has grown to five people and still no second clerk, so I try to gesture to some postal employee that we need some service. Finally, another clerk shows up and proceeds to mess around g-l-a-c-i-a-l-l-y for another five minutes until she deigns to acknowledge my presence and the line snaking down from the entry door (the same foreign patron is still messing around with the other clerk.) My entire transaction only took 45 seconds. It's really sad that we have to deal with poor service and a lack of appropriate management. Unfortunately, the US Postal Service personifies everything that is wrong with a government-run business, even though it is technically a private business. If the USPS were to have private sector competition, it would go out of business. This PO really PO's me. read more

This review is based on one experience at the Glenview Post Office. And...I hate to say it, it was a heck of an experience. Attempting to ship a cell phone to the west coast using Express mail, the lady at the counter (a Chinese-American older lady) provided the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. She informed me that the Post Office does not provide padded Express Mail envelopes (a lie), then told me that I would have to PURCHASE a padded envelope, pack my merchandise into that, and THEN place it in a regular Express mail envelope. She only explained it once, and then proceeded to ignore me. Any other questions I had, didn't get answered. So I shipped the package out with no help from her. If you like poor customer service, go to this Post Office. If you're like me, and long for the days of good customer service, I would stay away from this post office. read more

Big post office, big parking lot. Expect to wait in line. Every time I am here there is a huge line and not enough people working. Today there was 12+ people in line and 2 people working. Staff is nice and know what they are doing they just need to increase how many people are working at the counter. Also self service machine was down today so I was forced to wait in line. I moved to Glenview from Niles and this is hands down the worst post office I have seen in the northern suburban area. 8 people in line 3 people on the counter and only 1 was working. The other two just stood (for at least 15 minutes each) around AND the female was texting on the phone while people were waiting. Absolutely ridiculous! I'll spend the 15 minutes and drive back to Niles-they still have lines but their people hustle. read more

My visit today resulted in this Post Office losing a star. My reason for the downgrade is twofold. First, I have been thinking that the semi-annual fee for my PO box was coming due in November. The last time I was there was a couple of weeks ago and there was no statement for the fee, so when I went today, I thought I would check again. And once again, no statement. Would have loved to have walked out thinking I was paid up, but my instincts told me differently, so I went to the desk to double check - fortunately they were not too busy. I asked if the attendant could check to see if my fee was due - she kept on asking if I wanted to pay it if it was - which of course I would. A couple presses on the buttons and voila - last day due for my PO box is 11/30. I paid it and let the attendant know that I was pretty disappointed. Had I not paid it on time, I would have been locked out of my box and would have been required to pay an additional fee to open it. And what proof would I have had to show that I had not received the bill? Not good! The other reason for the downgrade is that on my previous review, I noted that this PO graciously moved my mail to a larger holding box if my box became too crowded. Well, they're not as gracious anymore - been there a couple of times when my mail has been crammed into the box any old kinda way. I understand that they don't have to go above and beyond and move my mail out of a crowded box. But that being the case, I don't have to give them extra kudos (or in this case a rating star) for not doing it. So sadly, what used to be an above and beyond USPS service facility has slipped into mediocrity. read more

Mail carrier does not seem to care and, from looking at other reviews, neither does the post office. Why can't the carrier check the address before putting the mail in the mailbox? This post office is the epitome of what you think a government run operation should be. I made an online which was shipped FedEx to be delivered by the USPS. I received an email in the morning stating that the package was delivered to my business at 8:35 am. This was a puzzle since there was nobody at the business at 8:35. I contacted the post office and they stated that the carrier said he delivered the package. This was yesterday. After several calls during the day and one visit to the facility they stated that they didn't know where the package was and might still be on the carrier's truck and I should check back the next day. Today I called and was told that they spoke to the carrier and that he didn't remember delivering the package even though he scanned it and the scan confirmed it was delivered. WTF. There was no accountability for the carrier. No one can come up with why the carrier said he delivered the package and the next day couldn't remember it. If this was private sector company the carrier would be reprimanded or fired for lying. At the post office he probably got a raise or bonus. read more

Service at this location is nonexistent. I refuse to use this Post Office unless I need to pick up something that needs a signature. If I need to use a Post Office, I drive to Northbrook or Winnetka. Worst post office ever. Have called 6 times to schedule an appointment to get my passport paperwork turned in. What a joke this place is. They say over and over that someone will call back, but nobody ever does. Avoid this post office at all costs. Just called again and got some snappy sassy lady who told me there was nobody working to take my call and she cant explain why nobody ever calls me back and then she hung up on me! I ordered a product online and I needed it by March 2nd. The night before, Pat was very nice and once the package got to the USPS building, she called us and stayed overtime in order to make sure we got the package in time. I am amazed by the generosity of Pat and the rest of the workers here. I will definitely be using USPS again! read more

I do not normally give 5 stars, but this particular letter carrier (Shiny) has gone above and beyond his call to duty. Long gone are the days when my mail was delivered after 5pm. Yes. That is right. 5pm. I even wrote a letter asking to have delivery earlier, but was given a reply that perhaps I may want to buy a p.o. box to ensure a time of prompt delivery. Now with a new letter carrier my mail is delivered during the daylight hours. I recently went on vacation and stopped delivery for a week. The day that I was to resume delivery of mail, I was excitedly surprised to find the held mail was also delivered ( I had originally opted to pick up held mail). On other occasions I have found that my mail carrier was concerned that I had not received a certain package that needed to be signed upon delivery. On two prior times the package was unsuccessfully delivered. I then received the package on a Sunday. Wow, impressed. It is has also been recognized around the neighborhood that the postal service is better So Thank you Shiny for your hard work. Job well done. read more

Sigh. I hate when I have to break a 5-star streak but I have to do it. With the day to day delivery to our business, our mailman, Lou, gets a solid five stars. However, onsite service is hit or miss. The line moved pretty quickly which is really saying something for the 2nd week in December. Kudos for being properly staffed. However, when an abnormal circumstance arose in my case, they didn't really handle it exactly as I'd preferred. I had a package sent to my office and they attempted to deliver on Saturday. Upon checking my tracking number, it told me this information and instructed me to come in to the office or my package would be returned to sender. So I took my lunch hour to stop by. I waited patiently and went up to the counter expecting it to be relatively easy. Nope. They couldn't find it and when I referenced a tracking number so that perhaps they could figure out where it went, they told me that they do not have any kind of tracking or reference numbers for packages. Finally a manager came over and did a bit more research and figured out what happened. While he was ultimately helpful, he was a bit cold. I kind of get the impression that if it isn't on their FAQ list, these people don't really want to figure it out. I will note that while I waited, I noticed a woman named Kathy that was super good with her customers. She was helpful and instructive without being condescending. It made me smile when she helped an elderly gentlemen figure out a way to send his 2-3 packages. She was helpful without being overbearing, annoyed or even worse... without treating him as if he were a five-year-old. :) read more

Customer service is extremely poor as this african american lady who was helping was extremely rude. She did not have the right attitude to assist and talk with a customer. My package was supposed to be delivered 2 days before the day i finally decided to go to the post office and actually "pick it up". But after waiting in a long line for 30 minutes, this lady said that we do not have your package. Like what the &%*#? This has happened repeatedly as I went to pick up my package at the post office, since they screwed it up and told me that they left a notice, when clearly, they didn't bother to ring the door bell or knock the door. Last week I visited this post office to send a package by priority mail to Denver. I was assured the package would get there by last Friday. The package never arrived, so I went back to the post office to find out what happened. Bottom line is the package is lost. I was given two phone numbers to call for help - both are non-working. If I could give them zero stars I would. I live in Glenview and the employees at this location just don't care. Probably because they feel they can not get fired. I was in the other day mailing some letters and my stamps were from stamps.com. Normal postage is $.55 for a letter with stamps.com you pay $.50. The lady behind the counter is telling me that I'm five cents short on each letter. I was trying to explain to her that with stamps.com it's only $.50. She could care less. Then I proceeded to get stamps.com on the phone where the lady did confirm that it is only $.50 I had it on speaker and the lady behind the counter did not even pay attention. When you leave the post office there's a machine that has four buttons and you can rate their service make sure you always hit the red button several times because the service there is terrible. I work at a business in Glenview. Our mail is routinely delivered late, after our office has closed. It's left on the street, out in the elements if no one is available to receive it. Receiving mail for other addresses is a daily occurrence and important mail routinely goes missing. Calls to the post office are answered with indifference if not downright rudeness. If you live in Glenview, go to another Post Office, and hope that your mail is delivered to your house, and not the neighbors, or some guy across town. Don't bother trying to resolve any problems at this post office, they ARE the problem. read more

So far this is my third location I'm writing my review on and every location has terrible reviews. I do not recommend using USPS. All my packages have been late. I was expected to receive a package yesterday that was sent out on the 18th and it is now the 24th. The tracking history states that my package left a facility from a location that is 13 hours away for six days. I will continue to write reviews on as many locations till I receive the rest of my packages. I have had to return items using this postal service and the customer service their was terrible. I've had packages depart from a facility twenty minutes away from the post office it was sent to back the same facility it departed from. My packages have been between one to nine days late. UPS has delivered my packages on time or earlier. This is unacceptable. I am currently waiting to speak an actual representative. I have not been able to come in contact with an actual representative in weeks. I have filed a complaint online just to receive a confirmation email then without contacting me asking questions then emailing me saying that my issue was resolved the next day. Do not use USPS to deliver your packages. Stick with UPS or Fedex. read more
