So far this is my third location I'm writing my review on and every location has terrible reviews. I do not recommend using USPS. All my packages have been late. I was expected to receive a package yesterday that was sent out on the 18th and it is now the 24th. The tracking history states that my package left a facility from a location that is 13 hours away for six days. I will continue to write reviews on as many locations till I receive the rest of my packages. I have had to return items using this postal service and the customer service their was terrible. I've had packages depart from a facility twenty minutes away from the post office it was sent to back the same facility it departed from. My packages have been between one to nine days late. UPS has delivered my packages on time or earlier. This is unacceptable. I am currently waiting to speak an actual representative. I have not been able to come in contact with an actual representative in weeks. I have filed a complaint online just to receive a confirmation email then without contacting me asking questions then emailing me saying that my issue was resolved the next day. Do not use USPS to deliver your packages. Stick with UPS or Fedex. read more

Again an unacceptable experience at the Glenview Post office. Mailing Cubs t shirts to relatives and the self pay machine not cooperating. 2 people working with 8 of us in line. One woman helping patrons who are sending at least 50 items in cylinders and being done individually. As always noise in back. I have no choice but to wait. They really don't care about client service. For this it us not worth my time and I would pay extra for UPS or FedEx and do everything I can on line. And why don't people have their stuff done in advance and why are they allowed to hold up the line. And let's not get me started on wrong mail being delivered and getting my mail at 7. I only have to use this post office on Sat when Golf post office is closed. Definitely, the Glenview one needs to learn a lot from the Golf one. Efficiency of service is the major issue in Glenview, you will have to listen to abundant information from people pretending doing good to you but in fact wasting your time and creating long lines. No consideration ever that I have enough experience choosing what I need and filling up the paperwork, they treat you so inferiorly but in fact you know that they have no college degree and barely get through with limited English and no manners. A better service just a mile away but who cares, they did not improve and in fact degraded in the past 2 years I have been in the area for. read more

BE CAREFUL IF YOU BRING YOUR WEDDING INVITATIONS HERE I had my wedding invitations weighed and sent out from this post office. The lady who helped me out was very nice, however she was incorrect on the weight. She told me that my invitations met the weight requirement for the postage already on them, and not to worry about it.. Then about half of the invitations ended up returned in my mailbox or needing additional postage from the guests they were sent too... This was extremely frustrating. Even though it's less than a dollar I felt terrible that some of my guests had to pay additional postage for our wedding invitation. Also I had spent extra to have a calligrapher write out all of the addresses, now these envelopes were arriving with ugly writing and stamps from USPS all over them. I'm guessing this mistake happened because I had done a wax seal to close the envelope and that the wax amount had varied the weights of the invitations. However, I did ask the USPS representative about this, she specifically told me again that the all the invitations would be good on the weight. I should have taken this into my own hands... she obviously didn't know how to handle this type of situation... I would have gladly bought more postage just to be safe, but she kept telling me that I had enough... It's was very frustarating that the entire reason I stopped at the post office and then waited in line to have the representative tell me I had enough postage when she was actually wrong. read more

Unfortunately very slow service at this facility. Rude manager who is not at all professionally trained in customer service. This is not much unlike other post offices. Poor general manager for this business. Some of the individuals at the front desk are nice though, but a bit slow. We also question whether our delivery person takes "days off" when they are supposed to be delivering as there are many days where no one seems to get their mail and then a large amount of mail comes after those "days off." read more

My mail consistently gets delivered to other addresses. As a result, my bills are late and I'm not receiving other important mail. I often receive other people's mail too. I wish the Glenview USPS would fix this problem as it's not the first time I've had this issue. read more

First, my FedEx Smartpost was attempted to be delivered by a weekend carrier, even though I was out of town and had a hold mail in effect. When I tried to locate the package, the woman who answered the phone kept me on hold for 8 minutes, only coming back on the phone after four to ask me again for the address. I was told the package was not there, and it was probably out for delivery with my carrier. It was not. The following morning I called the Glenview Post Office once again, only to be left on hold and forgotten by the same woman for twelve minutes while she " went to her computer." I hung up. I called back at least 8 times before the same woman answered. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and she said she would get them. After thirty seconds she hung up. I then went to the location and spoke to a very helpful person that actually figured out the package was there. When I told them about my experience, they mentioned they were understaffed, but they also use too many substitute carriers that do not pay attention. They then just point fingers at each other. The most disturbing information I received was after I described all the calls I had made looking for this package. They told me the woman who kept hanging up on me is the Postmaster for this location! Avoid Glenview if possible. I will also say I looked for help and phone numbers from the Winnetka and Northfield locations. Both people I spoke to answered the phone promptly and were very friendly and professional. read more

When I have been IN the location, my service has been acceptable. Over the phone when I have called to ask questions, they were completely impossible to work with and unhelpful. Obviously I can't really do much about it, not like I can "switch post offices" since it is based on where I live. But boy, do I understand why everyone is switching to FedEx. In general I have people ship anything of importance with FedEx as their service has been more reliable, but the recent phone service pretty much makes it clear why the PO is losing $ - awful customer service and customers can be treated better elsewhere. 2 stars because inside they are helpful. I definitely agree with five stars for the Glenview Post Office and should have written this review last summer. I realized that I forgot to put a stamp my sister's birthday card after dropping it in the mailbox. When I told this to the clerk in the office, they helped me find it. There is no accountability for the employees at this facility. Whenever my regular carrier is off of work, there is a problem with delivery. The most recent incident occurred regarding package delivery. When I tracked my packages on December 10, they showed as "delivered to postal locker ". My residence does not have a postal locker! When I contacted the post office, I eventually spoke to the supervisor whose name is Darnell. Initially, he attempted to place the blame on my regular carrier, but when I told him that I knew my regular carrier was off the day in question, he said that he didn't know who was on the route, couldn't track who used the scanner, and "everyone" makes mistakes. Really? My suggestion, is that patrons have any packages or important mail delivered to a work address instead of residential. Thanks for the incompetence Glenview post office! read more

I mailed something to the Glenview area, it was scanned arrived at office and sent out for delivery last Friday 12/19/2015 and that's the last I've heard of it. The supervisor Ms Pointer was rude on the phone toe and when I told her that scanning something,"out for delivery" when it's not is called falsifying documents. NEGATIVE stars if I could. DO NOT go to this office if you have a choice!!! I've been spoiled with using 5 other competent offices in my lifetime..this is the ONLY INCOMPETENT one! I actually don't think the employees honestly know what they're doing! Luckily I've only had to step foot in this pathetic excuse for an office, and I was so disgusted by the incompetence that I'm just going to have ALL our packages delivered to a family member's address in a different town from now on, so I NEVER have to deal with this office again!! This is what happened: My fiance had a certified letter sent to our home in Glenview. We actually work rather than sitting at home waiting for letters to arrive, so we weren't there upon delivery. He signed the slip authorizing me to pick it up as his "agent", per the slip. When I went to pick it up, after waiting 20 minutes in a long line (bc there was a line almost to the door but ONLY ONE person behind the counter), the employee took the slip, glanced at it for ONE SECOND, & said I'm not him so I cant pick it up. Keep in mind she was in a bad mood bc the office is understaffed and she was forced to actually get up and DO something, so she was literally helping FOUR of us (w the slips) at the SAME time! I left confused, then came back in bc I realized maybe she didnt understand that he had signed the form allowing me to pick it up FOR him?? Ms. NEEDS NEW GLASSES BC SHE CLEARLY CANT SEE looked at the slip again, and said "I didnt see this before!!!" Thinking shes just vision-challenged I was relieved. Then Ms INCOMPETENT whines "NO..I didnt SEE this before!" implying Im stupid enough to add it in after the moron already denied it!!! What the HECK?? I said "It was there, thats WHY I came in!!" She then told me to just bring in his licence....not realizing he needs it to DRIVE!!! I just looked at her like shes a moron (as she is). She then went to the back to supposedly ask her "manager" but Im sure she was just scratching her head or drinking coffee in the back...came out like a second later and says "My manager says ABSOLUTELY NOT!" First issue - I don't know whether it's the Post Office, or just the mail carrier, but everybody in my condo complex gets mail belonging to other units, and as I get a misdelivered letter at least once a month, I have to assume some of my mail is going elswhere as well. My son sent me a check with my address written exactly as it should be, including the four digit suffix on the zip code, and it was returned to him in Washington with a label saying RETURN TO SENDER- ATTEMPTED - NOT KNOWN - UNABLE TO FORWARD. I find this worth less than a one star rating, sorry. Second issue - within the Post Office itself - TWICE I have gone on vacation and entered a request online to have my mail held, indicating that I will pick up my mail at the Post Office when I return, as two or three weeks of mail won't fit in my small box. Both times, when I returned and went to the Post Office a few days later to pick up my mail, there was nothing and they told me it had been delivered the day after I returned (in spite of the fact I'd asked them NOT to deliver it.) What mail did come to my box could not possibly have been everything I received while out of town - I usually have enough mail by the end of one week that it would overflow my small box, not to mention two weeks. SCAMMERS !!!! LIARS !!! THIEVES !!! I'm very frustrated with this post office service, never experienced anything like this in my life. Unfortunatelly this location delivers my mail to my apartment complex or should I say DOES NOT. For the last few months my mail gets delivered at 7, 8 even 9 pm sometimes doesnt even show up and mail from a previous day is delivered the next day. I personally went there and talked to one of the Supervisors, she told me that they're short on staff there are new peole on training... OK I get that, but thats for the last couple months... and a recent story that I can't even believe. I haven't receive my regular mail on friday, I wasn't suprised, but I was waiting for my parcel and the tracking number stated OUT FOR DELIVERY so I waited... waited...and waited no one showed up. At 9pm I checked my tracking number again and said DELIVERED, wow I ran downstairs, opened my mailbox, empty!?!? how come?? I called posty office right away and was told to call next day because its too late to get any details of what happened, so I called the next day evening the same superviser told me that she would have to wait for the carrier to get back and she would get me more details, not mentioning the fact thats the second day with no regular mail, of course she didnt call back. I called the third time on saturday, same story all over again I was so mad, no answers at all, no communication, and of course no saturday mail ether. I called again on Monday (today) I spoke to a male supervisor this time and explained this whole situation, and just like the other couple of times I had to wait till the currier comes back. I couldnt believe after about 30 min he called me back saing that the currier specifically remembers this package to be delivered on friday at 3pm he remembers putting this specific package in my mail box?!?!?!?! WHAAAAATTT??? I HAVEN'T RECEIVE MY MAIL SINCE FRIDAY, NO MAIL MAN SHOWED UP IN MY APPARTMENT SINCE FRIDAY HOW WAS THIS DELIVERED ON FRIDAY?????? My rating would be ZERO STARS if I could. This place is pathetic. I went on line and tried to hold my mail and they ended up delivering my mail anyways, stuffing my mailbox, I come back from my trip with a note saying that my mailbox was full and that they are holding the mail for me to pick up. Meanwhile, I keep getting reminders about my mail hold from USPS.com. I left specific instructions to deliver my mail to me on the first mail day after I came home. I tried calling this location to speak with someone about my mail hold, but all I hear is continuous ringing until my call gets dropped after 1 min of trying. Do they even know how to answer the phone there? They also are extremely lazy inside. Sometimes I think when lines get long, that some of the customer service people tend to go on "break" on purpose. For that reason, I drive all the way to downtown Wilmette when I need stamps and have to mail a package. That post office is much more helpful. My only wish is for another post office to deliver my mail, but that's not realistic. From time to time I am stuck dealing with this location. Please take my advice and stay away from this place, you are only hurting yourself. read more

This Post Office is a nightmare. There is always a minimum of a 30 minute wait in line, no matter what time you visit. Any time they are open, there is always a line. There are between 1-3 workers behind the counter servicing customers but the workers are very slow and often take breaks leaving the people in the long line waiting. No concern for their customers whatsoever. But that is the least of the problems. I have (had) a PO Box at this post office for years, used for business. I visited my box in the first week of July and collected its contents. There was no notice about payment due in the box at that time. I returned to the box at the end of July, after a two week business trip. I was locked out of my box. I waited 30 minutes in line to speak with a clerk at the counter. They said I was 30 days late in paying the bill for the box and the box was closed down. I explained that I checked the box in the beginning of the month, and that I was no more than two weeks late if a bill had been inserted in the box. The clerk didn't care. The result is that I lost my PO Box number (that customers have, now I have to call everyone regarding an address change). Further, the clerk refused to give me the mail that was in the box. So I have no idea what is missing. It continues. The clerk told me to call "Ralph" between 4 AM and 8 AM the next day as he is the person who handles the PO Boxes. I called the number given me at 6 AM (847-832-4690). The very rude lady that answered said that I was out of luck. Ralph was on vacation, and that no one could help me. My mail was gone and not retrievable. The general attitude of everyone I interacted with at this post office was horrible. They made an error in closing the box down, stole my mail, gave me wrong information repeatedly and generally treated me in an extraordinarily poor way. I was polite to all the individuals I spoke with, simply trying to rectify the situation. Keep in mine, that I simply missed renewing the box for a period of two weeks because I was out of town. I am still attempting to retrieve my mail but learned to never do business with this, or the U.S. Post Office ever again. read more

The absolute worst post office I have dealt with in my life. I consistently receive others mail. Today, my package was returned to a merchant because they spelled my last name wrong by one letter.I offered to come in with my drivers license, but was told no. When I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told this is a supervisor. They have absolutely no customer service. I will be getting a mailbox at UPS store to avoid any future issues. Some of the problems I have experienced were multiple packages stating they were in my locked mailbox when they were not. I went to my mailbox twice, that is a locked box with many others, and the back was never locked to see the mail fly away. I was told we don't have a regular mail carrier. I would be careful with having mail or packages delivered. Do yourself a favor, when you have a choice on shipping carrier, choose UPS or FEDEX, its well worth the money. read more

I recently went on a 1 week vacation, and filled out a "hold the mail" form, which I dropped off several days prior to leaving. When I came home 2 days ago, there was mail in my mailbox, a package outside my family room. But not ALL my mail. When I went in the next day (yesterday), yep - there was additional mail. The staff here are very friendly and helpful - perhaps too helpful. More than once I have seen a totally nitwitted disorganized customer get practically hands on step-by-step instructors from the staff. If anything, the staff here needs to tell customers to go to the side and package up their stuff and have it ready to go before coming up to the counter. The other day a young guy was up at the counter without a box, without tape, etc. while the line was out the door and yet the staff member was slowly walking him through the steps of packaging his Christmas items. He even found him a box he could use and provided tape. Very nice but not a good use of time when the place is packed. You should be charging for a package concierge service and using the extra funds to provide more staff for customers who are prepped and ready to go. read more

The worst, most incompetent by far of all the post offices I've been to. I went to apply for a passport and spent 15 minutes debating with the clerk at the counter about which application to complete. What he was saying was completely illogical. He kept telling me that the passport was valid for 15 years (wrong) after the listed expiration date (which is even more ludicrous). After he finally conceded that I was correct, he proceeded to tell me that I needed an appointment, which I had, when I originally stepped up to the counter. Another employee, who I can only assume by her uninterested stare was the manager, then shouts out that the passport person just went on break. I was directed to sit and wait for her to come back. I of course declined, gathered my documents, and left. The attendant I was speaking to should have sent me to the passport office when I originally asked if I was in the right place instead of wasting my time by arguing with me about something he knew nothing about. Such a source of incompetence and source of needless aggravation! Unfortunately, this not the first time I've had a negative experience at this location, but it will be the last. read more

If I could give Zero I would. We are on the 2nd floor of an office building that has an elevator. Four times in the last four months our carrier will not come up with a package or certified mail which needs signature. They put a slip in our box downstairs that states we have to wait (2) days and try to pick it up. This is holding up our mail for no reason. This is the worst post office with the poorest customer service. They claim that my package was delivered on a snowy Friday 2/9/18. I never received the package. I called the 1 (800) 275-8777) which is useless mostly because the automated answering service repeat the same thing over and over again. The number offers no choice to speak to live person. Same issues with 847-832-4693. This is the local/direct number but the calls are never answered. My mail man never delivered tax documents for 2018. I often find my neighbors mail in my box. So finally to locate my package I went to the post office on the Glen on 2/17/18. There is a manager who has no clue where the package is? He is giving me the information which I already know (tracking # and that it was delivered on a snowy day when Chicago had closed schools). I asked how to proceed. Can he give me a case number. He basically told me nothing can be done. He finally agreed to call me by the end of the day. It is Monday I am still waiting for his call. He was incompetent and not well trained. I asked for his name because his ID badge was turned around. He did not fix his badge and never introduced himself. This is the service from one of the so called finest post office of the city of Glenview. Shame on them and shame on us for putting up with this nonsense. Zero stars! read more

I called the Post Office today because we didn't receive our mail the day after the Columbus Day holiday. While the supervisor did offer to have the mail carrier check the mailbox of the house the precedes us when delivering the mail on my street today, he sounded very burdened by my call. He even suggested that I go check the other house's mailbox for our mail (!), but I told him that I didn't know these neighbors well at all and felt completely uncomfortable doing that. There was no apology given for the mistake, even though the supervisor surmised that the mail carrier must have gotten off track during his route, realized it at some point, but kept going anyway!! This is disconcerting, to say the least.... No wonder why the US Postal Service has major financial problems. read more
