This week the carrier placed a note on our multifamily postal box that the lock was broken, and we could pick up our mail at the OC post office, 6 miles away. I went to pick up my mail on Wednesday and the pick-up window was not staffed so I had to stand in the Christmas customer line to get my mail. Asked the friendly person behind the counter if he could tell me when our box would be repaired, and he didn't know. Same think again on Friday because the office is closed on Saturdays. Seems to me that the post office could be more responsive. Instead of a hand scribbled note on the box that just says it is broken perhaps a more professional notification could be left with a forecast date on when it would be repaired. I was there 45 min before closing and typically it takes just a few minutes to get a signature and some stamps on my paperwork. The guy up front had not seen the type of stuff I bring in before so he called a manager over. The manager went back and forth if they were going to accept my certificate of mailing or not. He changed what they needed different several times even though I've been doing this for 6 years with no problem. Ended up contradicting himself and just staring at the paper so long that I could not possibly make it to the next post office before they closed. read more

I wish I could give this post office zero stars. Like the other yelpers this post office is always crowded, disorganized and the postmaster is completely rude and shouldn't be working with the public, instead he should be a in a cubicle away from the general public. These past 4 months I have been in a living hell trying to get my Aunts mail. My aunt is disabled and her partner of 45 years passed away very recently and unexpectedly. As the result we have taken on the responsibility of being caregivers. As the result, she has been living with us. We explained the situation and we were assured that they would hold her mail until she moves into her new apartment. Her mail is important to her because she is on disability and needs her mail. Believe me, I do not enjoy going to the post office. Everyday I go in there I dread it. So last Saturday we go in, per usual to get her mail. On that particular day I had the pleasure of meeting the postmaster. We're ringing the doorbell at the blue door waiting. After a good 5 minutes he asks if I've been helped. I said I hadn't, my aunt hands him her ID so we can get out of there. I want to roadrunner it out of there, ok? He gets her ID then starts asking us all these questions regarding her living situation. He's a stranger and he's asking personal questions. All I said is that we are waiting for new apartment to be ready. He hands us the mail then says she will no longer be getting her mail held. I said that I thought we had already talked about this and came an agreement. He then puffs up his chest and says he's the postmaster. Ok? Then isn't your job supposed to make sure people get their mail? He then says that I need a change of address for my aunt. Which I did a temporary one. So by the time she gets her mail at the temporary address she's at, she'll be in her permanent address and we'll have to do it all over again. So in the mean time we'll have to chase down her mail. This is the worst Post Office I have dealt with in thE 26 years I have lived in the Portland Metro area. I wish the home I purchased did not have an Oregon City address, one mile down the road I would have been at Estacada which is one off the most lovely post offices I have ever had interactions with. Kenny who is the postmaster at OC is flippant, arrogant, lazy, confrontational, and honestly I think has narcissistic personality disorder. He has ZERO customer service skills, makes constant excuses for their failures to deliver mail by quoting policy and recently he told me "Congress says I don't have to have common sense." I have opener multiple investigations into this post office with upper management, I was assured Kenny was retrained and asked to give them "another try" as I had requested the USPS just pay for me to have a PO Box in Estacada and they said they can't do that. So the final straw was them attempting to deliver an electric can opener from Amazon into my mailbox and then taking away and stopping my mail because of "mailbox full". Well yea, it sure would be full. I called and asked Kenny to redeliver my mail, I am rural and don't get in town daily and he refused, quoting policy. Amazon contacted the USPS and a service center employee at USPS sent Kenny a message instructing him to redeliver my mail, he did not. I finally have time to go in today and they had sent all my mail and packages back, today is day 10 of the 10 days I was told they will hold the mail. I have now opened another case against Kenny and Oregon city. In total I have had hundreds of dollars of inventory for my small business lost at this post office and they have refused to call when hatching eggs arrive for me like every other post office does. Again, Kenny quoted policy and said he's not required to call me. Avoid this office and if you have bad experiences please report them to the USPS so we have a chance of getting a new postmaster assigned to this office and decent postal service. read more

We have been loyal Oregon City Post Office customers for many years and have had the same P.O. box there since 1995. This review is not a reflection of every employee, but, rather, of unacceptable customer service and procedures in need of change. The Oregon City Post Office disallows renewing P.O. boxes via the internet, telephone, or self-help kiosks, regardless of how long a customer has had a P.O. box with them (22 years in this case). Requiring customers to pay with paper checks or money orders in 2017 is unacceptable. We were across the country when we received the post office box renewal notice via email. We would have been unable to return to Oregon City until after the P.O. box renewal due date and grace period subsequent to that point. We no longer maintain a checkbook because every other entity (that wishes to stay in business) allows customers to pay via telephone, online, PayPal, or even through automatic withdrawals (e.g. all utility companies). Upon receiving the P.O. box renewal notice email from the USPS, we tried paying online through the link in the email and also by navigating the USPS.com website. We received "post office box not linked" error messages after each attempt. We consulted the USPS.com chat help function and were advised to call the Oregon City Post Office to pay via telephone, since that is where the post office box is located. We called the Oregon City Post Office and were (rudely and unapologetically) advised that there was no possible way at all to pay via telephone. After explaining the circumstances and advising of being referred there to do so by the USPS chat function, we were (rudely and unapologetically) put on hold for fourteen minutes (per the clock on the phone) waiting for a supervisor. We were then advised that the Oregon City Post Office was not set up for phone payments but that that we could call the main USPS number to pay "because they are set up for phone payments and we just aren't." We called the main USPS number and were advised by the automated system of the 35-40 minute estimated wait time. After our 51 minute wait (per the clock on the phone) for a representative, we were told they, too "were not set up for phone payments" and were, again, advised to call the Oregon City Post Office, since they should be able to accept payment for the PO box via telephone, as that is where the box was located. After explaining the refusal by two Oregon City Post Office employees to accept telephone payment and waiting on hold for another five minutes while he consulted a supervisor to facilitate online payment, our call was transferred to the USPS internet help desk. We then spoke with a USPS internet help desk employee for 31 minutes (per the clock on the phone). During this time, she was unable to link the P.O. box to an account. She explained it looked like the Oregon City Post Office, for some reason, did not allow online account linking, thus disallowing online payments. She said she would forward a message to the Oregon City Post Office so they could contact us and address the issue of being unable to pay online. We later received a voice mail from an Oregon City Post Office employee stating he was told we "wanted some information about a post office box but we do not provide information about any box holder via telephone." Either the internet help desk was egregiously incorrect (doubtful) or his interpretation of said message was, but the miscommunication was profound. We then received an email from the Oregon City Post Office titled "Acknowledgement of Inquiry - Case CA135215391" from the same employee who left the voice mail. This 'Acknowledgement of Inquiry' stated 'We will contact you and work with you until the case is resolved.' We replied to the email advising of there being a misunderstanding, as we never asked for information and only wanted someone to take our money so we could renew our P.O. box, nothing more. We explained the run around we received and how information from Oregon City Post Office employees was incongruous to that of every other USPS employee with whom we had spoken. We have received no further communication from the Oregon City Post Office to "resolve this case." We have made it abundantly clear to each USPS employee with whom we have spoken of our only goal being to renew the P.O. box we have had since 1995. We attempted to renew the P.O. box at a self-help kiosk and received a message on the screen stating "I'm sorry. The PO box payment option is currently not available." Because we had mail waiting at our P.O. box, we ultimately had no choice but to pay a total of $7.90 for a money order and priority mail shipping (in addition to the P.O. box renewal fee) to send our renewal payment across the country via snail mail. If 'Make It Easy for Customers to Pay You' is a Business 101 course, the Oregon City Post Office receives a failing grade. It is 2017 and time to implement online and telephone payment options. read more

I hate going here. My mailbox is almost 1/2mile from the main road so they won't deliver my packages. They have a will call door that has hours posted 7am-5pm Mon-Fri. Also the orange slips they leave me say "available after 7AM" the next day. Well I have tried multiple times to retrieve packages from 7:30-8:15AM on my way home and they rarely open the door! You just stand there listening to employees talk on the other side of the wall while you ring their ridiculous doorbell. The woman I was waiting there with said this was her second day in a row attempting to retrieve her mail. Pathetic!!! Change your hours if you aren't going to serve your customers. read more

Wow! I was impressed with this Post Office. Made an appointment for a passport application . Day before the appointment i was called to be informed their camera was broken. I think that was thoughtful so that i could bring a picture. I showed up, was greeted and treated friendly and professionally. Was out on my way within 15 mins. The place was busy and clean and i noticed everyone was working as a team and efficiently moving people and paper! I traveled 35 mins to this location and felt it was worth my drive. read more

I was expecting a live Betta Fish to be delivered to my house today. I requested it to be left at the front porch. The box had arrows, and a note saying to handle with care because it contained a live fish. I watched the mail man try to force the package into the mailbox, shake the package, and drop it onto the porch upside down. Let's just say that I'm not too happy with the mailman right now. What is wrong with the post office in Oregon City. They return my mail & deliver to the Apartments by mistake a totally different address. I have had the same address for 9 years. I have called many times...to no avail! Are their carriers so stressed out that they can not get it right! Joanne a supervisor is the only one who seems to care. On Sundays I have a different mail carrier this person gets a big fat ZERO from me. The first time 10/04/2020 they were to deliver a package they emailed saying the entry to my home was inaccessible. it absolutely is not. my regular carrier has no problem with our entry. The following week, 10/11/2020 Sunday, the box was to big for the mail box so they left it in the ditch under my mail box. now i feel like i have to continually watch for the weekend carrier because they might feel like just throwing it out their window on their way past my home. read more

This is the most inefficient PO I have encountered. There were 30 people in line and only one clerk. Other employees just wander around. One person was tidying the forms. I asked, "Why don't you open another window?" A mumbled reply. They can learn a lesson from any McDonalds in trying to serve the customer. When I got to the front, after 20 minutes or so, I noted the clerk was overwhelmed and asked why the Post Master or someone else would not help out. He said one of the clerks took a sick day and the PM never ran the window, which to me is poor leadership. Then again, they don't have to worry about customer service because they have a monopoly. Were do I start with the agony I feel when even thinking about the "Oregon City Post Office"? Please shut it down and replace it with anything else. Carriers: sometimes if they feel like it they will take your parcel up your driveway and leave it at your door, other times they just say non-deliverable and don't even try. Then after awhile you start investigating. Switched to a PO box. Now if you order something on amazon and it gets there over night or whenever you can add three to four additional days while they get it from the back dock and put a note in your po box. You can only retrieve your item during their business hours. If you finally get a note on Friday of a three day weekend you can add 4 days waiting. Don't bother using prime because it's not saving any time because of the post office hand off from ups to usps. The wait in the lines is unbeleiable and everything is in slow motion. read more

So far i dont have a problem with any of the carriers. They all are friendly and do their jobs. But i have a friend thats a widow and she is overwhelmed a little with some major home repairs. Part of the repairs is her mailbox needs to be replaced because the post is rotted. She has lived their for 30 years and is only one person has lived there longer than her. In those 30 years houses have been built all around her and is now a neighborhood. Her mailbox is all the way up her drive and on the other side of the street on the neighbors lot next to his box. She wants to put her new mailbox on her property just like everyone of neighbors. Trying to do it the proper eay she contacted the postmaster for approval. I was shocked and honestly its upsetting when she told me he not only denied her request but did not provide a reason why and proceeded to talk down to her like she was annoyance in a manner i describe ias bullying. I asked around ( anonymous resource due to the nature) and my understanding of why he wont approve of the change is because he would have to go in the system and move her address from after the neighbor to before him. Fifth failed delivery in last 4 months. Latest is amazon order with specific delivery instructions as well as "leave package if no answer." Carrier said undeliverable but left no USPS note indicating as such. After several very important Christmas presents were not delivered (carrier falsely indicated they were handed to me personally on the 24th but I could not pick them up from the Post office until the 27th, after my niece went back to Afghanistan), I purchased a larger mailbox for packages and left instructions on the mailbox for several weeks. I wrote the carrier a letter asking what the issue was and left a gift of wireless speakers for their vehicle to ensure no hard feelings. Carrier claimed gate was closed (not true) after writing on the note that no one was home (two cars were here and we watched the carrier come to the mailbox from our security cameras), but indicated to Amazon it was delivered. Amazon was excellent but could not reach the post office, and nor could I. Oregon City post office has not answered one of my hundreds of phone calls in the last seven years and there is no way to leave a message. I have not had an issue with UPS or FedEx. Mailbox is located in exact spot discussed during an in-person meeting with the carrier when my the house was being built. I have had personal checks also not delivered, we often get mail for others and often do not have mail delivered at all. Typical poorly run government office. Waited in line for for 20 minutes because one of the cashiers decided it he was due for a lunch break while there was a huge line. I was there because they claimed to have delivered a package that I am certain was not delivered. After finally getting to the counter the person wouldn't hear me out and just kept telling me the package must have been stolen even though I was home all day and the package was supposedly left on the "front porch". Oregon city mail has to go to Portland before gets into computer and visa versa, takes mail longer to get to destination and causes problems with tracking. Oregon city should handle its own mail. hire enough people to complete it makes your service very poor. Oregon city post office is rude on phone. When regular carrier has day off or vacation mail does not arrive untill after 8:30 pm as they have no good substitutes lack of people and poor training. they should have reliable substitutes for vacations and days off no way should mail be this late so often. Mail was not delivered at all yesterday when called was told they where short staff supervisor was rude, when told I needed the package she said then you should have used garanteed service. it said out for delivery yesterday then was changed to no access when I told supervisor this she said that shows attempted delivery i was home all day I said you said there was no delivery due to short staff and she got angry I caught in a lie. Garanteed servive would not have gotten here any faster than priority as overnight was 2-3 days same as priority. today mail was late again even though they had a couple people trying to do regular carriers job.
