I am posting this review as a follow-up to the review on the opening page...from Ari D. We must have the same carrier making the delivery...Today, Thurs.05-17-2018 I was forced to physically tear open my mail before I was able to remove it from my box. But I have one step ahead of Ari D. After 20 minutes of reaping and taring I got MY mail out but was not able to force the cardboard through the opening....and it remains there and will probably give the carrier an excuse not to deliver anymore of V.A pain meds to me...Me? I am a 100% disabled , Vietnam era veteran and there are days that even standing in front of my mail box is a challenge . Much less ripping an item apart before I can remove said item...Of course a stuffed mail box is waaaayyyy more better than one that is supposed to have my pain meds, but is empty....? Happy Whatever...And perhaps a can of WD-40 to help with the removal ?? read more

Absolutely the most rude and inefficient workers I have ever encountered. I have been forced to go here to pick up packages before and they manage to turn an already unpleasant experience into one that is dreadful. It's government so these employees could care less about the customer. read more

I called this post office because I was at home waiting all day for a package. When the normal time the post comes had passed by an hour, I opened my door and saw a notification that they came by and I wasn't home-they most definitely did NOT ring the doorbell. Pretty irritating when I am at home waiting all day. When I called this post office who was responsible for my delivery, I was greeted by a very rude lady stating, "well *snark* why would he do that?" I don't know, why would I not answer my door when I am waiting for something I know is coming?! Not at all impressed. read more

I swear that there's something in the air at every post office that makes people lose 50 IQ points. People suddenly think that it is so complicated to mail something. It's not difficult to slap on a label and tape up a box and give it to the clerk to finish the rest. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and there were two people in line in front of me. For some reason no matter what day it is, there's always ONE SLOW ASS OLD GUY behind the counter. All I wanted to do was mail my taxes and get delivery confirmation. It was a 20 minute wait. And the location draws the weirdest people with personal space issues. I'm cool with weird people, but please leave it at the door. Thanks. read more

It seems, you will be glad to know, that the Post Office is saving a lot of money! Especially on training their Employees. It seems I'm getting more and more torn, smushed, and broken mail. Not only in MY mailbox, but my neighbors are also getting my torn, smushed, and broken mail. I will say, they deliver most packages, now and then. Unfortunately, they tend to put them in the letter box, instead of the larger parcel box. All this may be due to the fact that nobody works there -- Supervisors are never "in", The Postmaster is but a myth in the wind, and all the carriers are not the "regular" carriers, but are just helping out. This has got to be one of the most slipshod, mickey-mouse outfits in the country! Were it possible to switch to another service -- Like cell phones -- I would switch in a minute. On a positive note, I think it's admirable that USPS is willing to hire the handicapped and those of the Troglodyte persuasion. read more

Badbadbad....we moved from Olympia 6 weeks ago and put in a change of address weeks before that. In the last 6 weeks we have received about 8 pieces of forwarded mail and no magazines (we get lots). I called the PO yesterday and got a very unprofessional worker who told me to "write to each magazine'...duh? I was calling about forwarding mail. She kept telling me that they only forward magazines for 60 days....yes, and I haven;t had ANY of our magazines forwarded....did she even understand what I was saying? Today, I found out that the carrier has just been stuffing most of our mail in our old mailbox despite the forwarding request! I called the PO and got the same woman, (Our daughter is going to go to the old address to pick up the pile of mail and mail it to us). I asked how this could of happened she said "maybe it's a substitute carrier" I said "for 6 weeks?" she said"maybe he has a bad back or something". How unprofessional. She talked over the top of what I was saying. I was getting nowhere so I gave up. It's obvious that there is no customer service or training here. The consumer can do nothing about it...because, hey you have to go to the PO no matter how they treat you. Note that Olympia is a large city...not some rural outpost... read more

Having worked in a job that landed me in the post office quite frequently, I've come to absolutely adore this branch. Sure, it's fairly slow, there's always weirdos inside, the parking sucks, and if you come late the automatic machine dispenses those stupid stamps with a clip art design circa 1993... but the main crew of people are now so dear to my heart. I can't recall their names, but could certainly identify them by ethnicity (something that I will decline to do here), because I'm classy like that. The whole team tolerates me and my desire to check out all the stamps. They throw wit back at me... "Can I have two sheets of XXX stamps?" "No... but I can sell them to you." It's strange, but I see them as being slightly surly in general, but after a reading of Bukowski's Post Office. they seem like emboied sunshine on grey Washington winter day. Stop by because... it's the post office... and guess what? You don't have a choice! read more

I find this post office to be similar to most: smells of stamps (is it the glue?), lines that take forever, pens that never work (seriously, is it that hard to have functioning pens?), and disgruntled employees. However, I am pleased with their consistent mail delivery, with my Netflix movies always having a 3-day turn-around. read more

Y'all need to get your stuff together. Tried to pickup a package twice and was told it wasn't even in the facility and was told it would be delivered today. Has not shown up in today's mail. USPS said it might be in Tumwater but they don't know. Like just leave it at my freaking door. Damn. read more

Well, I think USPS being what it is, a government driven biz, has it's challenges. Thus their service offer nowadays has greatly improved, having the mail handler pick up your mail from the porch is very convenient. Our Mail handler at home, rocks. He's cool, always a friendly word and so nothing to complain. Here at the office, that can change, making it a tad difficult to like 'em a lot. The parking to be frank, sucks and can make a visit to this particular office, very difficult, and it appears as that there are just a few people working. Yet they try hard to be friendly, which I like very much. read more

This post office is a joke. I thought the idea of the postal service was to deliver mail. I've had to go down to this post office on numerous occasions because of a delivery attempt failure. How can they claim a delivery attempt failure when the package was never attempted to be delivered. I have a medical disability and I'm home with my dog and I would know if anyone comes to the door because my dog starts to bark. I wish there was a way to get amazon to stop using USPS. read more

I love this place because even if there are really long lines (which unfortunately is not uncommon) the staff is always super friendly and helpful. Avoid going during lunch hours and bring a little patience with you and enjoy the warmth of the workers. read more

Why have a phone number if you NEVER answer your phone? It just rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings. Our community mailbox was broken into and I had mail stolen. The mailboxes were severely damaged and after reporting the incident with police, I was instructed to notify the post office. Well, I attempted all day long. If you're not going to answer your phone, why have a number? No option to even leave a message. Just ringing, ringing, ringing. read more

My experiences at this place have always been alright but today was super weird to see an older man who was directing the flow of socially-distant foot traffic in the store make a comment on what a woman was wearing. Highly inappropriate, considering he was on the clock and working, but also because what a customer wears in the store (unless inappropriate, which in this case there's nothing inappropriate about wearing a skirt) is terribly irrelevant to a USPS employee's ability to provide postal service to the community. read more

I have been calling every hour for the past 2 days and not gotten a single person to pick up.

They leave amazon packages out and not in secure lockers at my apartment complex, and they also leave voting pamphlets out, even though they are very important and shouldn't just be left out on a counter, they also do not care what apt you are in, they put a vacant paper in my mailbox, this occurred on 2-22-2020 , there are constant issues delivering packages . Somebody needs to address this issue asap. read more

This has to by far be the WORST post office ever. The driver never delivers any packages and leaves notices for "insecure area". Mind you my apartment has PARCEL PENDING at the office. Figure out how to use it. Don't even get me started about going to this post office to pick up your package after the failed delivery attempt. Everyone working behind the counter acts as if they have something better to do, good luck even getting a smile out of them. So glad I'm moving soon, and won't have to deal with my mail being delivered from this horribly ran post office. I have been happy with their service the past 5 years. The postmaster down haven't had one employee no be super friendly and kind.

USPS out of Olympia misdelivered someone else's mail to our address - which seems to happen more than it should. I tried repeatedly to call the Oly office and let them know they need to pick it up and deliver it to the correct address. How could it be that an office doesn't answer calls? How unprofessional - you'd really expect more from a government agency that is paid to provide a service. Not even an option to leave a message. That's deliberate I'm sure so they don't have to incur extra work responding to messages but...could any other office get away with being this inaccessible? Really surprising. read more

Mailing something should not be difficult. There is a guy named Rudy behind the counter that is constantly in a bad mood and reeks of cigarettes. I think he is just a mad old man. No one should have to deal with him and his attitude. Gave it two stars because it is always clean. read more

Screw this place. Tracking told me my package arrived at this facility on friday. Saturday i went to pick it up but they said they had no package. I showed them comfirmation text and lady just said "i dont know" and "call usps" and couldnt even give me any idea of what possibly could have happen to it. So then ive been calling and its nothing but endless rings and the average wait to talk to main office is too long for any human with things to do. Not to mention i overheard 2 people in front of me and the lost 4 months of mail on a hold and didnt have another package belonging to another gentleman. Yikes! Really long line! They need to have an area where people fill out package information and then get into line. Not just stand fill out information and then jump into line where ever they happen to be while standing filling out information. Interesting clientele, only saving factor was when they finally called a third person to help she was very friendly :-) there was a huge line, I will definitely never go back there if I can avoid it! read more

I've been calling 360-570-6300 all morning with no one answering. Just continuous ringing and finally a disconnect. I also tried emailing to no avail. One listed email address was a permanent failure! The other was to the postmaster. Received no reply. Pitiful. In this day of superior technology this is unacceptable. read more

I have a PO Box here. Friendly professional staff. It's difficult to get a parking space during the day, not helped by the customers who park illegally. And there are often long lines at the counter that you will join if you try to pick up a package before 11am. read more

I have waited at home all day for a package that the USPS tracking said was out for delivery. Nothing! Not happy!! Now I have to wait until Monday for something that was on the truck for delivery Saturday!!! read more

Loses packages, and then says "sorry! nothing we can do!" Never mind the fact that I spent hours on the phone with different people trying to track said package and was told it would be out for redelivery and would receive a call back regarding why it was missing in the first place and neither happened. If you want lost packages with no accountability, then use the USPS. read more
