Post Office building in North Bend is closed temporarily for repairs. Notice is on the window where to deliver outgoing mail. I don't own a car. I wanted to ask if they collect outgoing mail from the blue mail receptacle outside the building. I called the 800 number listed online for all the post offices in the area. Couldn't talk to an agent because the computer wanted this information or that information and was giving me solutions to problems that I wasn't experiencing. This post office, and USPS in general, has the worst automated customer service system in existence. When I want to talk to an agent, i expect to be connected to an agent. After paying an additional $32 to have a letter sent - not wanting to assume that they pick up mail from the receptacle and it stay there until they reopen - it turns out that they do still pick up mail from the receptacle. One or two people that work there are awesome. The rest of them have very low self-esteem. They should probably get a different job. They act like they hate it there. Terrible. Terrible customer service. Fix the system or find somebody that can. obviously, the supervisors know nothing of what they're doing. read more

Our mail lady has been there a long time, but cant fit all the mail for her route in her tiny little car, so sometimes I have to wait until the evening to get part of my mail or some of my packages. Then we get excuses like, Not all the time do we deliver it, sometimes other carriers do. instead of living up to say she made a mistake. when its wet and rainy out she will put the mail directly on the ground to stage it. and atleast once a week my neighbors have to bring me my mail or i take them theirs. I have even gotten mail for a residence more than 3 miles away. No matter how many letters I send, nothing changes. read more

Inconsistent delivery- ridiculous lack of communication regarding why this has happening. The carrier simply decides they don't want to go up my front steps some days, and the package is simply held and returned. I realize this is a small town post office- but there has to standards for every carrier that are consistent. When I do go into the office, the front desks clerks are friendly and helpful retrieving my package, but no one can identify and address the inconsistent deliveries due to the different carriers working my route and clear lack of communication between the carriers and management. I've never written a review, but since the Postmaster doesn't seem to care, and the offices above are nonresponsive, it seems like other people should be aware. I would say that this office has been completely worthless, but that would be giving them an undeserved compliment. Throughout the time I've lived in North Bend, I've had my packages not be delivered for the following reasons: -"No Secure Package Location" I've indicated a suitable location for the drivers five, maybe six times at this point. This has never been an issue for USPS, FedEX, or Coos Bay Transfer. -"There's no turnaround, so we couldn't deliver" The driveway is roughly 50' long, and plot twist - there is a turnaround. Their contract indicates that they shall walk a 'reasonable distance' for delivery. 3 Requests to the Postmaster for a copy of the contract have been ignored. Again, no other agency has ever had a problem. Eventually, they agreed to leave packages by a tree, since 50 feet of 8% grade was simply far too arduous of a journey. -"No safe location for packages" Indicating the two tail wagging dogs on the porch, who were completely gated in, and the space they usually leave packages in front of the gates wide open. -"No secure location" This time, I called and it was because the rural carrier got in a car accident. Fair enough, but leave a notice that reflects reality and simply delay the delivery instead of putting the responsibility on me to pick up the package. -"Package Delivered!" Oops, that was a lie so that they wouldn't miss their internal benchmark. Package was in fact not delivered, so I spent hours trying to figure out where it may have gone, until it was actually delivered the next day. -"No secure location" This time, I called and it was because they were out too late delivering packages and didn't have time. Yes, that was actually the excuse, and again, fine, but don't put the responsibility on me to come and get it. -"Vacant Address" When using my new address just down the road. When I inquired, you evidently need to come into the office in person (this cannot possibly be done over the phone) and tell them that yes, you did in fact request mail to be sent to this new address. I was not asked for any identification, so I have a hard time discerning why a phone call wouldn't suffice? I was also informed that the rural carrier "rolled his eyes" and agreed when asked if the mailbox location was okay, despite being placed to their specifications. Perhaps a large red, flashing arrow? -"Mailbox Full" Again indicating that I need to come pick it up. Well you know, it's a package, so I'm not terribly surprised that the carrier couldn't fit it in the mailbox, but at this point, I'm not surprised that he would have tried. When I called, my sixth phone call was finally answered, and the Postmaster informed me that the package was so gargantuan that they could not fit it into the rural vehicle with the other packages on the first day. When notified, I immediately requested it be delivered on the next day. It did not show up the next day, which led to my phone call. She tells me that it would take up over half the vehicle, so they'll need to wait for a slow day, or I can come and get it. They know that people pay for them to deliver it, right? Keeping in mind here, the package is a dirtbike helmet and boots. Once I can commission a lowboy and a crane to tow this monolith of a package to my house, I'll be sure to update with a photo. So judging by other reviews, this is a popular sentiment, but I wanted to let everyone know that if you'd like your mail delivered, you're going to want to pursue a route other than the local USPS, particularly on the rural side. On the other hand, if you're looking for shocking ineptitude, an absolute vacuum of competence, a lack of accountability, an abundance of lies, and a dearth of apologies, you're in luck! Personally, I think I'm going the more reliable route of carrier pigeon in the future. read more

They have lost all my packages. I had to go investigating to find them but that's not my job, it's theirs. Once they threw my package over my neighbors fence, then delivered it (despite the residential address on the box) 40 minutes south of me to a convenience store. They regularly misplace my mail and tell me that now I'm the last mail to be delivered in the evening. Then when I voice my displeasure they then stuff my package in my mailbox when sometimes it can't fit (so they know where my address is). What is going on? read more

There isnt much to say about a post office. But... The post office here is very clean and spacious inside. The staff is very Friendly and helpful. I've personally never had a long time or listen to others complain about long lines. I would recommend this post office to others even if you had to drive a little out of your way to get here! read more

Once a week a different neighbor is bringing me my mail and packages because they are put into the wrong parcel locker. this has happened over 7 times now. Whenever I call they say they are training new people and nothing is ever done. Today again I am missing 2 packages that are suppose to be for my sons bday and my husbands package is missing. I am hoping who ever gets his bday gifts will return them to us being a few hundred dollars just gone. We also have someone else's package that that looks like someones shoes from what is looks like. These lazy people sent my insurance payment to the dead letter division in ..... where ever that is! I had just gotten out of the hospital from multiple heart failures. I addressed a US Postal Money order for my payment to Pony Village because that is where State Farm used to be. Then I forgot to put my return address on the stamped US Post Office envelope. I was assured they would open it in .... where ever dead mail goes because they are the only one who can open US Mail without a warrant. See my return address on the money order and send it to me. This was June-July of 2014. This is April 2015 now. Now reply. No nothing! It is my fault that I got sick and had those heart attacks and got my mind. But State Farm that used to be @ Pony Village was only 3 blocks directly up the street from this Post Office. THREE STINKING BLOCKS! The carrier should have noticed and just delivered it or when it came back - any idiot would have just sent it over to them addressed wrong or not. There is only 1 John Gibson State Farm in North Bend, OR 97459. These people are just plain lazy and/or vindictive to send that back and I'm out $50. Plus I didn't have insurance for a while until I could find another $50 to pay it! Plus penalty! DON''T USE THESE LAZY UNETHICAL PEOPLE AT THIS POST OFFICE!
