As far behind as we are with universal health care and services in the community that are free/cheap and readily available, this place is a gem. They also give free condoms, exams and the Plan-B pill. During the day it's mostly dedicated to the aforementioned services. But at around 5 PM twice a week you will start to see people lining up to see a nurse practitioner for FREE. They also have free medication available, depending on what you're in need of. The only downside is that everyone in Hillsboro, along with their families, piles in here and you all receive a card with a number. They call numbers in order. I was lucky enough to somehow get number 5 the first time. People that don't need to be here are here taking up space sometimes. It also seems there are people here taking advantage of the free services provided. Also, the people here are volunteers and they are able to stay open largely because of donations. Let me just say in the nicest way possible that the people that should be donating (even $3 helps) don't seem to be donating at all. Overall, much needed services provided by informative, compassionate staff.

This was my first time ever seeing this employee. I ship out packages from here with fedex packaging never with any issues from the younger Asian gentleman who has helped me all the other times. Older Caucasian guy didn't bother to say "hello" when he first saw me, he also assumed I didn't want a receipt I had to ask him to print me one and he seemed unhappy about it. As I grabbed the receipt from him i looked at his name tag and thanked him saying his name. He seemed caught off guard I can't remember his name...I'm not a Karen I swear I just expect decent customer service and like to share my negative experiences...He also asked "what are you doing?" As I was taking photos of my packages to send to my customers.... I'd give this location 5 stars (I live nearby) if I was basing my review on location, cleanliness, and customer service from the younger Chinese guy. Thank you to him for always giving great customer service and very helpful! He deserves a raise, the other guy needs to take some notes from him.

I obtained a gym membership. (I get a discount through my health insurance and chose the Marquis Community over other gyms that offer more classes but do not have a salt-water pool). I was initially very excited about the salt-water pool and gym. However... The Marquis does not list their fitness classes or pool schedule on-line. I went to their website and looked for information. I filled out a "Contact Us" form. (It went no where. Perhaps a glitch but this has happened to me a few times.) The definition of a "senior" or "uniquely-abled person" is we may have limitations. How do I know which services, classes, gym schedule, pool schedule I wish to access if I cannot locate the information? I should not have to get a ride to the Marquis in order to obtain a schedule or program information in order to plan my day, week, month. On the positive side, the salt-water pool is amazing. The gym has some nice equipment and is clean. The locker room is accessible. The rest of the Marquis (fireplace, puzzle/books in the lobby, coffee bar, seated areas) is a pleasant place to spend time. I just wish I had a schedule! Please post on-line, create a link for up-to-date schedules, anything that would make your community more welcoming to those of us that do not live there.

Modern facility doubles as a tactical command center during emergency events and is even protected…read moreby bullet-proof glass. The police department does a great job at community outreach. I highly recommend their Citizen's Police Academy and CERT classes open to the public (with registration). The facility itself is very impressive with all-electronic-keyed doors throughout. It also houses YCOM the area's 911 dispatch service. The chief, officers and staff are always at lots of community events and the dedication of their volunteers rivals that of any non-profit in town.

First and foremost, I hope and pray to the peacock angel Lucifer (having a temporal personage in Dick Cheney) that we never get a new police station in Monmouth. Great for Highway 99, delightful to have a secure area to seize and hold evidence (cars , vans, even mobile homes like the one(s) where I currently reside in Yolk County. And I can't say I recall meeting any of them lately, and being a collegiate drug dealer in the Eugene Corvallis corridor, it's best to keep up appearances in one group of peeps, and overall send conflicting signals. Don't know anything about the VIlle, and aside from the times Monmouth local peeps bogarted my stash and snatch locally I still has Benevolent Tenancies Towards the fuzz. At the same time, I'm tired of the man keepin' me down! I'm H James Tharp, local Monmouth/Independence oddball sports personality, and I approve of this Yelp review. And you can put that in your pipe and smoke it , by golly.
