Arrived with my family on Saturday, only to be told they had issued 25 tickets for the day, granted it was 1 pm and they closed at 6 pm. The associate said that tomorrow there would be 2 associates and they would issues 40-50 tickets. We arrived 20 minutes after opening to be told again, they had issues their 25 tickets, no second associate on duty, no exceptions. We drove 40 minutes each day with 2 kids. Seriously the worst customer service. Typical government entity. read more

Had my boyfriend go there at 3A to wait in line then I showed up later with our kids to get our passports and save the hassle of all of us being uncomfortable and cold in the car. There was a man already there who said he arrived at 1A so we would be second in line which I was hoping we would get first but it didn't matter it was only one person. Once it's getting close to opening people start going ahead of us and saying they had numbers from the day before which was really irritating because there was a huge line and they should've had just been told no the day before but she was doing overflows because of so many people needing their passports which if you think about it I mean it's a good idea in a sense but not so much for people that are in a way spending the night there outside trying to be first in line and not be stuck there all day. So we're there and CRYSTAL gives us the morning speech answers all questions thoroughly and starts helping people from the day before and doing the best that she can. I watched and overheard her do a good deed on her behalf for the person in front of us which I was happy to see for myself because you don't see it often and for it to have come from her after having to deal with people with attitudes walking in at midday trying to get their passports and raising their tone at her and being mad at the fact they don't helped when they walk in. This is a walk in facility BUT don't expect to just walk in at the hour you choose to and be helped, people spend hours before 5A or 4A sitting outside so they can get a number for the day and get their passports. We were done by 12P which I feel was ok for the amount of people she helped before us. Cut her some slack and think of how everything works out and don't get mad when you don't bring your required documents and wait and she has to turn you down because you couldn't get the things that are REQUIRED to process your passport. Hello viewers. My name is Bill and I just want to say thankyou to Roy behind the counter of the passport department. I was having difficulties getting my paperwork corrected and he recognized it was my 4th time into the office. It was near closing time, and he took it upon himself to sacrifice his personal time to help every last customer in the room, including me, which I am very thankful for. 5 stars to Roy, I thank you. We need more employees like Roy in the world, and we can all be just a little better at our jobs to make that happen. 4 Star rating due only to the influx of customers during the holiday season. With families showing up at all hours of the business day, the wait times become very long, average time about 8 minutes a person. The 4 times I have visited, I witnessed only a single employee working... non-stop... to get families on their way. "Thank you Roy!!!!" If you do plan on visiting, please bring something to occupy yourself and your kids, and remain patient. Grab lunch before you arrive, get your number at the counter, and eat in the car. Just relax and plan to make a day out of it. If you cannot arrive before 430 PM, chances are you will have to return another day. I am not going to lie You will need to be there early in order to get a ticket. If you get a ticket you will wait a long time due to sometimes there are big families doing the same process at the same time. But I have to tell you that pretty much all of agents are trying their very best to help us. I am writing this review because I really think is the best way to THANKS CRYSTAL who helped me today to fix a big issue I had with my kids passports. I will make my story short, I got there 5 minutes to close but Crystal told me she will be happy to help me and literally she fixed my problem. I have no words to express how thankful I am and feel to know there are still people that care for there jobs and for costumer service. I drove from Merced on Saturday, 3/10/18, to submit my application for a new passport. Walk-in passport hours posted online indicate 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., but agent was only taking 65 customers that day. The facility can not handle the volume of customers who require passport services. Fortunately, Crystal Hatch, supervisor on duty, was able to accommodate me so my trip was not a total waste of time. She has amazing people skills and goes above and beyond helping where she can. This is a note for USPS management (and I mean at the top), make sure facility has adequate personnel to handle the customer volume. And, add a note to the Paradise facility's passport hours, "arrive early" or "first come, first serve" or "only a limited number of customers will be accommodated on Saturdays." I give the facility a 3, but Crystal definitely a 5. read more

Roy & Om were very helpful. I got there at 1230 and was lucky to get the last 5 ticket numbers issued for the day (apparently you should get there right when they open to get a number). Roy told me to come back at 3:30. Brought everyone back at 3:30pm and they called us up about 4. It took about an hour to process our 5 applications including pictures. I'm was very nice to the kids, friendly, and worked quickly. Tips: - get there early to get a ticket - come with everything filled out in black ink & have your copies made - there are no bathrooms there - be kind & patient (it was sad to watch some lady get all angry yelling at Om because she didn't know she needed a number - even though there were 4 signs saying "no more numbers for today" read more

*HEADS UP! IF YOU ARE GOING TO GO ON A WEEKEND, ARRIVE BEFORE 4:00 AM IF YOU WANT A TICKET TO BE SEEN THAT DAY!! My fiance & I work M-F 8-5, so we could only turn our passport applications in on a weekend. I had called another post office on Friday, and they informed me this location would be open Sat&Sun at 10:30 AM but to arrive an hour or so early as it gets busy. We are from Stockton, and left our home at 7:30 to arrive by 8:30. We saw they were open(they open at 8:30 now on weekends due to immense need for passports at this time)only top be told there were no more appointments for the day and they already had overflow for tomorrow. A wonderful lady named Crystal gave us a heads up to arrive by 5 AM to get a ticket for tomorrow. We arrived by 3:00 AM on Sunday to already have a line of 12 people in front of us! We camped out until 8:30, made some great friends in line. However, once the doors opened, we were informed we may not receive a ticket because there was over 30 overflow customers from the previous day(who had waited in line since 4:00 the previous day) and they only accept 50 applications per day. THANKFULLY, we got a ticket. We did not get out of there until close to 4:30 PM due to the insane amount of people and the processing times for each application. HOWEVER, we were helped by the great employee from the day before, Crystal who made the whole process(our first time getting passports) very easy! Crystal is such an incredible employee!! She made the time fly by, kept us all laughing and in great spirits and gave us great advice on some issues we had with passport photos at CVS. She took some great passport pictures of us aswell, and highlighte don the receipt that she had to take our pictures so we got our money back from CVS due to their mistake. Worst customer service ever. Me and my family got there at 11 and we didn't get out till 4:15, closing time is 6 & he was still handing out tickets to see more customers. It said he only takes the first 25 people but he literally gave out around 40 tickets that day. Sent a girl back home because she forgot her school ID after they had already been there for 3 hours. His lunch break is at 2:30 and he took it at 2:00 right before he was going to attend me and my family, he said he would be back in 30 min, I kid you not he took an hour, not only that but he took another break after that. He is also very rude especially to Mexicans. He thinks he is all that and he asks so many questions acting like some kinda detective. There should at least be another worker there when he goes and takes all his breaks. OM was the worker there. no hablan español tampoco. This is a usual occurrence it says it's supposed to open at 10:30 weekdays but they take up to even 20 minutes to open doors opening at 10:50 maybe even later sometimes really sucks when you have to get things done and go to work this shouldn't be okay if the opening time is 10:30 then doors should open at 10:30 not almost 11 especially when lines are long and we have to wait outside in the hot sun people with their children in the sun but we can't get out of like to get water because we lose our spot this is ridiculous someone do something about this and their punctuality it's getting out of hand read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! Apparently they have a limit of 25 people for either passport renewal or first time applicant. Yes...25 person limit! Even though the website clearly states walk-in 10am-6pm. They point you in the direction of a homemade sign that states the 25 person limit. Complete BS. I called immigration to verify my concern about my passport and was informed that I require 6+ months on any passport in order to travel out of the country and the "Passport Expert/Manager" Crystal tried to convince me that I did not need to renew my passport. She then proceeded to raise her voice at us when we explained to her the frustration of their 25 person limit to which she said that she has emailed corporate for a website update. Also, the clerk that was working in the passport department stated "The longer it takes me to talk to people the longer the wait is" ...... just a horrible post office all around. Oakland post office handles passport applications and renewals in less than 10 min. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN! read more

This post office is amazing, the staff (crystal) was very nice and welcoming. She didn't make it feel like a dull post office instead brought positivity and light to it. The music they were playing was great also. If you get there early that's your best bet to not have to wait so long. But it is a post office so patience it key. read more

First off getting a passport can be a big pain. Yes they can only process so many passports in one day because of how long it takes so that's definitely frustrating but it takes time and it needs to be done right. Crystal made it very easy for me, I did have to wait 2+ hours to be helped but once I was at the counter Crystal was sure to help me out. Had the pleasure of meeting Crystal who processed our family of 3 passports. She was BOMBARDED the moment she opened the doors. This woman is a SAINT! She continued to smile throughout the very busy day she had. We arrived at 9:30 am to stand in line and didn't get out of there until 6:30pm. Though it says Paradise Road Modesto CA Passport services as this Post office is "walkins" but they only take first 25 applicants. I even called before going to confirm they take walkin for passport but they never mentioned that they take only first 25 applicants. May be they should post this information outside at the post office door and on the website. Because its not just walkin but it is first 25 applicants on first come first serve basis. It was disappointing to go all the way and come back. So if you are planning to go this post office please be there as early as possible. read more

I drove from Stockton to Modesto this morning to submit my passport application, they opened at 10:30am but there were people already lined up at 10am. Finally at 10:30am a lady named Crystal opened up and let us all in (about 20 people or a little more). She was working alone that day (co-worker called in sick) and had to take care of all these people on her own! But! She did an awesome job... I personally would have been very grumpy and kinda irritated to have to handle all this alone but her, she was smiling and cheerful the WHOLE time. She paid attention to every person who walked through that door and was very thorough with each person she helped. She was very efficient in helping the people in front of her and answering phone calls at the same time without neglecting anyone or being rude or annoyed. She has the kind of presence about her that changes the atmosphere in the room. Even though some people had to wait longer than others, I feel that her presence/personality kept everyone in that room calm and happy and she even made you chuckle here and there. I wish we had more people like her in customer service and not to sound cheesy, but she inspired me to want to be better around clients at my job. Definitely made my day a little happier today. But Crystal shines a ray of light and efficiency to keep the office going, even though it took a half an hour to get just my passport done, she could not have done it quicker! I went here to apply for a passport. I arrived here at 3.35 pm and I knew they were open till 6pm.. So I thought plenty of time. There were about 20 people waiting some were families. I waited and waited as people came in with numbers from earlier that day, who decided to leave and come back now(which I think is not a fair system, for those living far away)He helped every single one but me. I was the last one. There was a family of 4 ahead of me and it was 5.35pm. He looked at me and said sorry I can't help you today, I don't want to make you wait!! Really??? You don't want to make me wait? I waited over 2 hours now you don't want to make me wait? I was the last person in that room and waited for 2 hours with a crying baby just to be told after 2 hours of waiting that he can't help me. I will never use this facility again and will warn anybody else from using this place. I suggest people go to the main library of Modesto. Got my passport within 5 minuts and the lady was super friendly. Paradise rd post office is understaffed. The staff is undertrained and unfriendly. They actually seem like sadists who love to see people suffer.. Make them wait and tell them with a smile on their face that they can't help them! Horrible place!!!! read more

Let me just say that I am happy this process is finally over! I think it's great that this office provides this service 7 days a week because it's already a hassle for families to find places that do it. My only issue with this office is that after standing in line for hours, I am greeted with someone telling me that priority will be given to the 10 people from the day before because they weren't able to be seen and already had numbers. Ok no big deal because I was second in line so it shouldn't be too long. I go from standing in the cold with my 5 year old to get inside and have to sit through HOURS of listening to countless stories and chatter from the clerk. I understand you are only doing your job and you want to seem friendly but sometimes less is more. I don't think it's appropriate for the clerks to pull out their phones to show pictures of their own past trips or for them to sit there stuffing their face! This whole process could go a whole lot faster if people would do less talking and more moving! Other than that I'm grateful for this being offered on a Sunday but the process needs to be reconsidered! read more

The passport center is packed and there are very little number of seats. In order to apply for a child's passport the state department requires that the child and the parents be present during the application process, yet this place is not very welcoming of children; for crying out loud man they don't even have a freaking bathroom. To sum it up this is your quintessential government office. Feel the Bern! read more

I'm sorry but I had a crappy experience here with the passport services. The website says the open at 830. They don't they open at 1030 but you better be there early because they only see the first 25 people for passports. Then after that I'd assume it's all renewal and other things. We went here on a busy Friday afternoon. We are a little bit lost of how their procedure is for getting a new passport but employee named Roy was kind enough to take time and answer all our questions. For all of you that don't know, they only process 25 applications per day on a first come first serve basis. They are giving out numbers early in the morning as soon as they open. However, there is only one person in charge for processing everything (taking pictures/paperworks/etc.) They open early and close late so even that being said if there is only one worker, there is only much that they can do. So you really have to wait until you're number is called. If you hate waiting you can always set up an appointment at the Modesto Library. Just a little tip, fill out your application form ahead of time and ready all the requirements. Have your picture taken somewhere else coz they charge $15 (Costo's only $4.99). It would make everything easy for the employee and for the people who wait in line as well. Goodluck!!! read more
