We stopped in a couple of times and nobody could be sure why they were not ready to give to us yet. Today we stopped in and Kim took my number, then proceeded to call me and tell me that the reason nobody could figure out what was going on was that the owner of the building already had our keys!! It just made my day to have a postal service employee take the time and interest to get this resolved and then follow thru with us. Thank you Kim!!

I have a huge suspicion somebody delivering the mail is stealing packages and opening mail/taking…read more$/cards. I have not recieved many packages. I just had a card sent, it was opened, the items taken, then taped back up. They weren't even smart crooks, I would have disposed of the mail all together then send something empty. Not great service at all.

I got my passport photos here…read moreand they were not only unable to provide me with a digital photo that was acceptable to the online renewal service, but they eventually refused to respond to my requests for an acceptable photo. And that was the manager. The photos they sent were not the correct size and both of the employees I dealt with did not know how to resize them correctly. This store seems to do a good job on everything except the digital photos. You pay your money you take your chances.

They don't answer their phones during business hours, they don't have a way to leave voice mail, and they like to return your packages without notice and with a useless error code ("wrong address"). Horrible, bad, awful, terrible, useless. I'm so furious right now I'd vote for whichever candidate offers to defund USPS. --- BUT, after going inside I met Terry (90% sure that was his name). And Terry gets 5 stars all to himself. USPS was returning my packages left and right and every person at USPS - this store and the main office - told me 500 different reasons for why it was happening, but no one had a clue how to fix it and most said it couldn't be done and I was just screwed. Terry the savior gave me a form the size of half-sheet of paper, told me to write down 3 things (name, address, and signature) and he'd fix it all. AND HE CAME THROUGH. Packages arrive, mail arrives, all is well. Terry gets 5 stars, the phone services and rest of the office gets -1, so it averages out to 2 stars. They should give Terry control of the office and fire anyone who answers the phone. Or maybe I'll hire him.

Greater Genoa citizens don't receive direct mail service at their residences and businesses…read more Instead, most everyone has a box at the Genoa Post Office. So depending on the time of day, the Genoa Post Office is a happening place. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be an adventure in itself, and with COVID, it's sometimes hard to recognize your neighbors. Now that Gayle and I live just outside of Genoa Proper, I enjoy the experience. When Gayle first registered for our PO Box, the postal employee immediately noted that Vassar was a Genoa Proper name. That's true as her Dad's family arrived here around the 1940s. So that makes only me as the California invader (via Iowa) in our house. :) If there's too much mail to fit inside the box, I'll either see a key inside the slot, directing me to a larger "locker" space to retrieve my package. Otherwise, I'll see a yellow or green slip, directing me to the desk. The folks working at the post office are nice and with a local flair that I relish. They'll even collect my MIL's mail for me to deliver, no questions asked.

The Post Office's sign is quite small and unfortunately, the sign's location is not directly standing via Foothill Road! Apparently, there seems to be one USPS employee working upon my arrival so, you must hail for service. Anyway, just after the Post Office's location is the antique store . . . FYI~A blatant landmark searching for the antique store signage in order, looking for the Post Office, I guess? I didn't see a US Flag flying so, I just don't understand why as a government office, there's no flag~Waaaah . . . Well~My suggestion is drive super s-l-o-w so you won't miss the USPS' driveway!

Ambiance - Huge location, including the parking lot. Service - Okay. Mostly self service. Well today the line was crazy long?!?! See pictures. Open 5.5 days. Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm; and on Saturday from 10am to 1pm. They are closed on Sundays. Services available at this location - Financial services (money orders, etc), passport, pickup services (mail hold, etc), business services, biometric services (fingerprint, in person proofing), etc. Price - Affordable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1971 (formed in Washington DC) with your $80B in revenue. Much controversy about your profitability or lack of it. This is an "independent" agency of the executive branch of our US government. You have an amazing history dating back to 1775, but I will not go into that here.

The worst post office ever. Here 20 minutes before they open, 3rd in line. They open 3 minutes…read morelate. They start with 1 clerk to help people and another at the desk but weighing mail. Maybe they should do that in the back when there are 20 people waiting in line. Finally another person comes to help. Both clerks in the back for 10+ minutes. Apparently they can't find what customers need. I've lived in Carson City for 5 years and EVERY time it's a similar experience.
