Lost my Priority Envelope!! (?) Then they're telling me the case is resolved!! WTF?? ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHERES THE PRIORITY MAIL I SENT?????? Do NOT send anything important through this post office. They did try to call me but not on the phone number I left with-and have been texting them on. We've had to report to the manager about the delivery person speeding up and down our country driveway which consists of rocks. I spoke to the manager and he has finally slowed down The next complaint is that no one answers the phone. I had a certified letter to be delivered today and the route person drove up our driveway and placed a package in our box, but never came to the door asking for a signature. There were three adults here that could of signed for it. Hee never went to thedoor. I looked at the ring camera and you can see he wass on his cell phone and just dropped off the package. He left the notice of no signature available. That was and is a lie. I don't think cutting the Postal Service will hurt our deliveries any worse than they already are. While typing this i have tried 6 times to talk to the office, but no one answers and after some many rings automatically disconnects. read more

On Sundays when the Madera post office delivers my packages in the eastern Madera county foothills, they never leave it at my front door (I am at the back of an acre lot), they leave 10 feet from the road, in the sun, noting it was deliver to my garage. All other delivery companies, drive up my straight driveway, and deliver to my door. I have valuable and perishable items purchased and some have melted being left out in the sun simply because the drivers are too lazy to drive up my drive. The Coarsegold PO is great but everyone thinks they are responsible for Madera's lack of service. read more

our post office sucks! Yes, it was delivered to my old address and I was alerted. So I immediately go to my local post office and let them know of the change of address . My postman was still out in the field. They assured me that they will have it pulled to the side and I could pick it up next day. When I arrived I was informed my package was in Bakersfield. I thought you was gonna hold it. No such luck our post office is not dependable, but that's all we have.. I now understand why it's rating is so low! Since last year December 2023 we started to received the letters and all our correspondence opened and damaged, like for example they deliver to wrong address, the publicity we received like a check, was open it from the sides. some w-2 form was ripped and complete opened from the tiers. And we have a community mail box with key, supposedly for safety. Please if somebody has the same problem report it. read more

My packages routinely sit in their office less than 2 miles from my house for 3-4 business days before anyone can be bothered to throw them on a truck to be delivered. It makes me sick. I'm paying a premium to have expedited shipping, and yet my packages sit for days. If I were this bad at my job I'd be fired instantly, but there y'all are, collecting those fat federal checks to do absolutely no work what so ever. I hope they dissolve the postal service. Went to the Madera post office on 9/5/17 a day after Labor Day during my lunch break at noon. I was greeted by a woman who was like the concierge of the post office. She inquired my needs and helped me pick the best option for my situation. There was only a hand full of people in the post office. Once I filled out my information I waited in line for like 30 seconds and a postal office employee was quick and efficient. I was only here at the post office in under 5 minutes! Which if I went to Fresno I would have been standing in line my whole lunch break. I was surprised they had 3 people working the registers while Fresno only had one or two. I will definitely be conducting all my postal needs in Madera! The staff is very friendly and helpful beats waiting 45 minutes in line! I highly recommend to come to this postal office. read more

Went in today expecting to be in and out and unfortunately there was a power outage. Despite the power outage I was so pleased with my experience. All the ladies were so helpful and presenting the best customer service I have ever seen. Customers were in and out, and they made sure every customer was aware of the power outage coming in. I was very pleased with one employee who's name I did not get, she went out of her way to help customers who needed help filing documents that needed translating and she reassured them she would help them. I am awaiting a supervisor's call, after having a conversation with "Chris" regarding the non-delivery of a package. My tracking says that the package was left with an individual. Chris said that there tracking shows that it was "in my driveway" and that "maybe/probably left at the doorstep." When I reminded him that my document states that it was left with an individual, he say, "Well, maybe they made a mistake on the form." The point is, that the package was neither left with an individual (we are both teaching from home, so we were here), nor was it left on the doorstep. read more

I go here all the time whenever I need to ship a package to somebody or pick up a package, etc., Contrary to what most reviews left here say the workers are so nice! Any time I've had an issue regarding packages they help me, Any time i've needed to ship a package out they told me exactly how and were extremely helpful! Always used to find all my mail tampered with, corner of the top of envelopes someone tried to look at my checks and legal mail. I had a Po box thought it would be safer, but not. Employees there can't be trusted, becareful. read more

Have had several issues with this post office! Packages are stuffed so tight in our box that you have to literally tear them apart to get them out - all these even though the parcel lockers in our community box are available! Today, I was to receive mail that had been held for 2 weeks. Mail was delivered to other boxes, but not ours. I called the number for the local post office and, as usual, the phone just rang and rang and rang. Currently, I am on my phone, on a looooong hold, waiting to talk to a customer service representative. The most frustrating thing about this is that, no matter how much you communicate your dissatisfaction, nothing changes! I sincerely wish we had other options!!! read more

If I could give the postal service here NO stars, I would! They care so little about the people they serve, it's sad. Constantly getting other people's mail, wondering who's getting mine and if they'll be kind enough not to just toss it away... Packages stuffed in the mailbox so tightly that you can barely tear them out. Delivery notices left at the door for a signature and they DON'T EVEN RING THE DOORBELL!!! So you might not see the notice for days, and when you do, and sign it marked for redelivery, the carrier ignores it because your package is now across the street in a warehouse, and apparently they can't be bothered to get it unless you call their supervisor. Worst mail service ever out here. And now I'll probably pay for writing this with worse delivery service, because that's the kind of people we have to deal with out here. read more

This place is a complete joke. I have never seen a USPS location that is so ignorant and downright rude. I have had to utilize this location several times while visiting family and every visit has been a head-shaking question of "What the heck is going on?!" There is one employee in particular, an older woman, that is far from being as helpful as she may think she is. There is a real superiority complex with her as she orders other employees around and is beyond rude to customers. The simplest of questions will result in her snappy attitude. Seriously, if you are that unhappy of a person-- perhaps you should not be working in a job that is known to not exactly be full of joy. She is a nightmare to deal with. There are times she will do exactly the opposite of what you ask her to do. At one time, perhaps because she was simply too lazy to push an extra button, or simply likes to mess with customers, she tried to tell me that tracking was not available on my item because the shipping total itself was less that the mandated $5 that allots such. On another occasion, I needed a proof of drop-off for a cell phone I needed to send to AT&T with a prepaid shipping label. Simply, all she had to do was scan the item into the system and print out the acceptance receipt for me. However she made a fuss, telling me that I would need to purchase additional shipping in order for the system to be able to issue such receipt. I knew this was far from true, as I have gone through the process of obtaining proof of drop-off receipts before. In trying to correct her, she rudely tries to silence you. I was not having it and after several minutes, sure enough, she was able to very easily issue the requested information. The area this USPS serves has a high latin population. Many speak spanish. I have stood in line numerous times to see the language barriers show their ugly head. We have paying customers, simply needing to obtain their mail or ship items and the employees are beyond unhelpful. I have witnessed some, including the woman mentioned previously, act very rudely to these people by ordering them around and speaking "above them"... even laughing in their faces resulting in frustration from the customer. Many of the employees really need some general entry-level etiquette classes. Who in their right mind, bosses around a customer and mocks them as they walk away? The actual delivery system is no better. I have ordered packages from mass retailers such as Amazon and followed tracking. On days it is to arrive, it does not. I have received notices in my mailbox of attempted delivery, when no attempt was made. There are even times where I have been in my front door, watched the mail lady drive up and delivery mail, and in such case receive an "attempt of delivery". I was standing right there!!! This current case has me waiting over a week now for a delivery from Ebay. Tracking shows it is at the local Madera USPS. But, it has not been delivered. I have called the national 1-800 number for USPS and filed complaints. I am even told on that end that the package is indeed in the hands of the local office. However, it has yet to be delivered. In calling the local office, I was told that the mail lady simply did not have any room in her vehicle for the delivery. On another instance, I was told it was too heavy. This is where is becomes highly amusing. For the delivery is simply bag of dog food. If your employee can not lift a bag of dog food, perhaps she should go to flipping burgers down the street instead. Oh wait-- those boxes of meat get heavy too! So, in all sense, here I am over a week later, still without delivery despite numerous phone calls to the local office and filing complaints with corporate office. I have even told them I would come to the delivery car and carry the item myself if they would just bring it. However they have not. This is sheer laziness on their part! So much mail has simply gone undelivered on time or simply lost after repeat follow-ups. It is quite evident on so many levels that this USPS branch does not meet general standards. There is nothing professional about it. On another occasion, I was mailing a small box padded envelope to Los Angeles. Its contents were a T-Shirt a friend had left behind on a visit, along with a card. This USPS tried to tell me that the cost to mail such, cheapest way possible, was $13.95. Excuse me? Again, I said cheapest way possible, not overnight priority or anything else inflated. Now, how is it, a t-shirt costs $13.95 to mail? A 7 oz package would be equivalent to about $2.50 (to be generous) based on the USPS Mail Calculator found on their website. To be exact, it reports First Class Mail being just $2.21. It also reports I could have sent this item with Priority 2 Day Mail for just $6.70. So, please tell me-- why was the employee trying to charge me $13.95? Corruption at its best!!! read more

Tried to mail a large package. Went on line to USPS and followed the prompts as I put in the length, width and height, along with approx. weight (20lbs) of my package. The estimate was $132.00 (that's not my complaint!). The site states that as long as your package is not over 108 in. in total measurement (mine was approx. 80), then it can be mailed within the U.S. I packed my box and headed to the post office in Madera. The workers immediately frowned when they saw my box. One man came from behind the counter, and began to measure my package clear around the top and added in the height. He exclaimed "Too big!!" The frowning ladies behind the counter said "Too big!!" I tried explaining that I'd just measured HxWxL as their site instructs, but they refused to listen, saying they are supposed to measure the "girth" of the box. Later on, after being sent away from the post office, I headed for our local UPS Store. They measured and weighed my box, using the standard HxWxL calculations and a scale, then charged me $107.00! When told of my "measurements from the Twilight Zone" experience at the post office, the young man helping me almost fell on the floor laughing. This experience explains why our USPS is bankrupt. They will not listen to reason, are rude to customers, and lose money in the process. read more

Incompetent employees. If I could leave zero stars I would. Constantly receive other people's mail. I know for sure I'm not receiving all of mine, have not received letters I was expecting. I traveled out of the country this summer so I set a travel notice. As soon as I returned to town before even heading home my wife and I headed straight to the post office to pick up our mail and they told me they did not have it even after showing them an email confirmation of the mail hold. The post office employee suggested I check my mailbox at home, sure enough my mailbox was stuffed. That day (July 25th) I left my phone number with a post office employee asking to speak to his boss regarding a complaint and I have yet to receive a call back. Today I was expecting a package and after receiving a notification via email that the package was not able to be delivered I checked our mailbox and there was a notice saying they missed us yet our doorbell or door was never approached. We have a SkyBell and have a camera in our driveway. The post office third party employee never even bothered to check if we were home. I've lost my patience with this post office! If I had the option of choosing a more responsible mail carrier I would. I understand they get away with things like this due to the community they serve. I will be attending the next city council meeting and voicing my and our neighbors concerns. read more

This post office is absolutely inept. Talk to anyone in madera will tell you that this postal service is really bad. I have had birthday cards delivered to the wrong address, then come back to me opened and missing the gift card. That happened twice. My dad has recived unable to deliver package notices in his mail box, when he goes down to pick up his package they can't find it. It will show up at his door a month later. My latest issue is with my business. When I bill my customers I include a return envelope preprinted with my address to make it easier for the post office to sort and speed delivery. This month the fill-in mail person on my route could not find my address, or so it said on at least six payments returned to my customers. I think what happened is the mail person couldn't keep up and just said he couldn't find my address. This is a monopoly at it's worst. US mail used to be a service to be proud of, now it's just a bunch of overpaid employees there to draw an undeserved pay check. read more
