After asking me the same question multiple times, she then accused me of speaking to her disrespectfully when I simply answered her question. I felt unfairly spoken to throughout the entire exchange. Customer service should include basic courtesy and professionalism, and sadly, neither was shown during this interaction. I came to this U.S. Post Office on behalf of my client, who is serving in the Army, because I needed to understand what documents I would need in order to handle a mail-related matter for him at another location. The clerk was rude, dismissive, and very difficult to communicate with. I was trying my best to understand the information she was giving me, but because of my accent and the way she was explaining things, I asked her several times if she could please repeat herself. I also asked if she could write the information down for me so I could make sure I understood exactly what documents I needed to bring. After I asked for the third time, she rolled her eyes, grabbed a piece of paper, and wrote something down so poorly that I still could not understand it. I then asked if there was any information online that I could read so I could make sure I had everything correct. She told me that she was the person trained and authorized to give me the information and that there was no information online. The problem was that I still could not clearly understand what she was telling me, and instead of patiently helping me, she made me feel like I was bothering her for asking questions. I became so uncomfortable and frustrated that I had to call my husband for help. I should not have to call someone else just to receive basic information at a U.S. Post Office. People who clearly dislike working with the public should not be in customer-facing positions at the U.S. Postal Service. A post office is a public service, and employees should be there to help people, answer questions, and treat every customer with basic respect and patience. No one should walk into a U.S. Post Office asking for help and leave feeling humiliated, dismissed, or afraid to ask another question. This was a very disappointing experience.

There was a woman at one window who was chatting it up with the employee as she was browsing for stamps she might want in a large plastic bin, the kind you use to store stuff. By this time the line was literally out to the front doors. Several people in line suggested letting her browse stamps off to the side and let the line move and the employee said no, she can hold us all up as long as she wants. She bought $2.80 worth of stamps after all that. The upside of my wasted hour was that I tried Pirate Ship when I got home. Not only was it easy to use but I saved several dollars and was able to print a return label which does not get charged until the person on the other end actually uses it. And the charge is $5...I can go to the store and buy an entire roll of tape for cheaper, but since Kohl's for Amazon does not require a box or tape, if I have to use UPS, I'll drive a mile farther and use a UPS store that is not so greedy and charge happy. They fax, make copies, make keys and even a Notary. Bill, the owner and worker and his newest employee J are trustworthy, very helpful and absolutely knows what the heck they are doing when it comes to any mail and any personal packages. They greet you kindly and are very patient with people. This place is complete just like the big name brand shops. They have all different size boxes, envelopes, packing materials, special occasion cards etc... The Post Office has what they call Informed Delivery you can sign up for so you know what you'll be receiving for the day's mail, Bill does the same thing with an email. Bill lets people sell their unique items for purchase too, cute things with personal touches. He and his customers also help out with donations for animal's in need. His pricing is comparable for a small business owner and I'd rather go to his shop than wait in a super long line at the post office or the bigger impersonal name brand shops. Bill's small business is just as good in all aspects and more personable in my opinion. The busiest months start in the month of October to Mid December. The best time to go there is when they open or before 10:30 am or after 2pm, but better after 4pm to closing. You'll eventually know the delivery times from all the Logistic Companies including the Regular Post Office mail so you can better time your pickups and deliveries.
