But a 90 minute lunch break for the retail counter is absurd and can be very inconvenient at times. Not sure if other small towns in the area have the same issue. Not something you'd have to deal with in the bigger towns and cities. People can still access their mailboxes though. After the postal service did cutbacks a couple years ago, our mail sorting and delivery no longer goes through the Danville PO, but rather Hampstead which is a couple towns west, so when we have a delivery issue, that's who we have to call. At least they didn't close our PO outright, which had been threatened.

I told him I was shipping a letter via two day priority mail and he went out of his way to get the appropriate envelope behind the counter and put my letter into it himself! Usually at post offices, they'll just point you over in the general direction of all the assorted envelopes and have you do it yourself. Because of him assisting with this, I was in and out very quickly! A huge plus with my two kids in tow. Another patron entered as I was finishing up and the other employee who was working jumped right up to help him too. Great service! And the establishment was kept very clean as well.

Yesterday, while standing in line during the holiday crunch I had the big pleasure of witnessing a genuine smile on the postal worker as he helped the person in front of me. When it came to my turn I asked if I could post his photo on a view. He was delighted and appreciative and gave me his name. One stop shopping at this very tiny office. There are no mail carriers out of the office. Also,…read morethere is no post master at this location; just one woman who works hard behind the counter. Private and shared parking lot, plus on street parking. The rating is 4 because it is a one person shop and 1 staff person to handle during the rush is crazy. You can stand in line for quite a bit just to get stamps. You are better off buying the stamps online. The rating is also 4 because it is such a small office which means very few P.O. boxes to lease. There is usually a waiting list for the P.O. boxes. Otherwise, the woman staff member works hard and handles all the mail all day long every day of the week and on Saturday. I don't know how she does it. I do remember when there were a couple staff working the office.

However my experience there this morning wasn't good. Not familiar with the location I wasn't sure if they prefer prepaid/ labeled packages given to them directly at the windows....or if they have a bin to drop them in. So I decided to ask and got in line. The 2 clerks who were obviously having some type of amusing conversation among themselves at the time both shot me looks from....well, you know where. The way they answered me was beyond condescending... very uncomfortable to say the least. So much so that I just pushed my packages thru the plexiglass and walked out. There is absolutely no need to treat a customer this way! And I hope these juveniles don't decide to drop the packages in a circular file....so I WILL be tracking them.... This is the second time that we are expecting important packages for a business and we got a notice from Amazon saying that you said we were closed when we open every Saturday from 7 to 5 PM. Get your lazy ass out of that delivery truck and do your job. You didn't even come around here today. We have been literally waiting for you to show up because those packages were extremely important. For once, I can't wait for Monday morning to come so I can be at your door. Better get ready. For the second time in a row you made us lose clients. Expecting something like this, this morning at 6:30 AM, we even put a note in the mailbox that said to deliver the packages. That we are open. Needless to say, you can just raise your eyes and look at our freaking front door. We are open on Saturdays idiot. Is this happening to any other business in town?
