I told him I was shipping a letter via two day priority mail and he went out of his way to get the appropriate envelope behind the counter and put my letter into it himself! Usually at post offices, they'll just point you over in the general direction of all the assorted envelopes and have you do it yourself. Because of him assisting with this, I was in and out very quickly! A huge plus with my two kids in tow. Another patron entered as I was finishing up and the other employee who was working jumped right up to help him too. Great service! And the establishment was kept very clean as well.

Let's face it, you're rarely going to see a positive review of USPS. This particular branch,…read morethough, has small town problems. They realize they're the only game in town and they treat customers that way. The shrew who seems to be in charge is a good one for spouting "policy" answers to humane problems. Case in point: a delivery in the holiday season was left in my mailbox by a 3rd-party shipper. That's illegal, they can't do it. When they did so, they raised the 'outgoing mail' flag on my mailbox. USPS took the package and left me a slip for it the next day saying I owed $11.75. I went to retrieve the package, showing the photo that had been taken by the shipper, explaining what had gone wrong (they did what they were supposed to, but it was a reasonable mistake - I just wanted my package that I had already paid to ship. I was told I still needed to pay the $11.75 for the package that had been delivered, then removed by USPS, and was given a mini-lecture about the illegality of what the shipper had done. I explained that I knew that but that it was their error, not mine. Charging me for a package I've already paid to have delivered is extortion. The shrew then TRIPLES down lecturing me further that only myself and USPS are allowed to touch my mailbox for that reason. Sound ridiculous, yet? Just give me my damned package! It is worth noting that prior issues with this USPS office have included damaged mail from being crammed into the box (so much so that I replaced the box with an oversized mailbox), mail arriving opened, and mail frequently delivered that goes to another, nearby address (they have also received our mail). Those issues allegedly led to the dismissal of an employee (though our two drivers have been the same for most of the 10 years we've lived here), and the Post Master General dealing directly with my wife. Amid a political climate where USPS is basically fighting for its life, the woman that seems to run this office treats customers like incarcerated children who need to be lectured. It's disgusting and has not shown any improvement over the last ten years. But what is the recourse? There is none, so I Yelp. It'd be nice if businesses, even soft monopolies like USPS, paid attention to this feedback and addressed the issues.

When I pay extra for Saturday delivery and they don't even attempt to load the truck with my packages and makes you wonder??? Do yourself a favor use FedEx and UPS whenever possible!

Who wants to go outside at night and get their mail? Does this guy get lost for four hours frequently? This is Hampstead for goodness sakes! Why is he delivering my Saturday mail at 6:00pm? And why do I see him speeding down my road on Sundays? I'm suspicious that he's so disorganized that he has to make return trips to deliver mail he found sitting under his donut at the end of the day.

The staff has always been pleasant, professional and thorough in my opinion. Shipping does cost a little more than some other places, but (for me) it was well worth it to ensure that my packages were packed and delivered on time and undamaged. I have used their services back in 2013 for picking up and shredding documents. I had decided to…read moredrive up recently (within about 7days of the new year) and save some time and money. Here's the thing about old documents,like maybe some of you out there, I still had a lot left going back some 16 to 17 years. Now like a lot of people out there I have a shredder. Let's be honest though,how many of us (10 pages at a time) will actually shred such a big amount in a relatively short time? Raise your hand. (Pause). Yeah me neither. This is where neighborhood parcel comes into the picture. They are quick and efficient. If you take the drive up there my advice is to look for parking space 999( no not even making this up) as that is right in front of the building. They remembered me from a few years ago (hey I had a ton of old papers then). They are friendly as well and weigh each loose bag by the pound. Ironically I filled out and had them mail out the notarized certificate of document destruction. They will also email it to you only if you prefer. I can't tell you how much time they saved me (as I am getting to that stage in life of weighing time vs. money vs. the fact I won't do it all myself in this case). The relief of knowing that these old documents I was never going to look at again were all gone is priceless.
