Very slow and un-organized. Every time I go there the line is out the door and there are on 2 workers at the stations yet they have like 7 windows. People are waiting on line for passport review yet they are given wrong information where to go. They tell you to take pre-paid packages to a slot yet the slot drawer is locked. Very rude attitude employees, went to renew passport with the docuements that was needed which was something i double checked with the employee. Came back on the appointment date with docuements and got turned down. They say the person i spoke with wasnt properly trained and says i need to come back i said since it was your office mistake, let me come back with the additional document and was told i cannot comeback because it is all booked. They should put me on the schedule since it was there mistake of misinformation and they were giving me attitidue. I will never ever go back to this horrible post office ever again. I'm going to update this since the people that work here have changed. In particular the 2 extremely rude workers that were giving out completely false information no longer appear to work at this location and the one's still here will help if you run into issues. With that said, be aware that parking is hit or miss. Their parking lot is still too small so a small tip is you can park across the street in the residential streets and walk across. During tax time the line can be HUGE with every register open. I've seen it span out the 2 sets of doors into the parking one time with every register open. Regarding the package drop kiosks, it needs to be updated. They fill up way too fast for this location and lock themselves. The alternate is the Bethpage location, but you need to have a PO box to get access to the lobby since it's not always unlocked. read more

WORST post office ever. The line is incredibly long; I understand around the holidays things get a bit crazy but there are only 2-3 people working and a line of literally 30 people out the door. The woman who does not work behind the counter but comes out scanning packages and taking prepaid packages is by far the worst and most rude employee i've ever come into contact with. she told me to drop my package in the package drop on the wall, never gave me a receipt. never scanned it. I came back over 24 hours of dropping my package after not receiving an email or notification that it has been shipped and updated tracking info - and she proceeded to ignore me, got very nasty, and after i explained to her for the 5th time exactly what happened when she "helped" me with my package and she responds "well if I tell you to jump, are you going to jump?" If i'm going to a post office and the worker there tells me to do something regarding my package, I would assume listening to them would be logical? I guess not. USPS needs to hire some new workers because this woman is by far a disgrace. read more

I agree with all the reviews the clerks forgot they are civil servants and do not accept the public answers and treat people poorly. I went to asked a question and wait for 10 minutes on the line waiting for the clerk to finished with the client and the clerk pretend me to wait in line for a simple question. Rude, no customer service. I m sorry but I have to say it are not the clerks born in USA are to foreigners. I'm an immigrant too but I think I blend my culture with USA culture. I have a P.O. box at this Post Office and I like it because the box access with a key(as opposed to my old one which was coded with multiple letters) and is 24 hours, which works better for my schedule. You can even access your PO box on Sundays & on holidays, even when the regular part of the post office is closed. As well as the self-service kiosk where you can buy stamps as well as other services(excluding certified). The regular part of the post office is open later than most others, in this area at least(9pm during the week). The location of the post office is so convenient. It is only a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Broadway Mall. read more

I LOVE this post office. Why? The self-service machine is always empty. I can get in and out with ease. Everything else here... not so good. The parking is an issue, there are constant lines and every once in a while, someone drives into the place (no joke, has happened multiple times). My parents were deliberately embarrassed by Clerk#9. They were simply trying to figure out how to send a money order to their nephew (they have no experience with this) in Chicago when the person who was supposed to be helping them was talking down to them like a child. She was very sarcastic and obnoxious. When my dad returned to her for a follow-up question she yelled at him to make him an example for all the awaiting customers. What was salt in the wound was as he was walking away in embarrassment, my mom saw her with a giant satisfactory smirk as if she took pleasure in belittling others. When I proceeded to move to the side to fill out a label, he quite rudely asked me to step to the back of the room. He then proceeded to allow another woman to work in the area he insisted I could not work in. UPDATE: My package came TO MY HOUSE the next day with the package destroyed and written on it that the postal worker didn't charge me enough! although it was a flat rate box at the normal price. Two nationalities that should know the struggles of discrimination and oppression of our society well. I have to use race in their discriminations in this review as they never identified themselves, weren't wearing a uniform or walked away before service. Otherwise they would have been used by name. They will be used much like police profiling for this review. Lunch time at any post-office you expect a wait and this location is no different. While waiting in line on my phone dealing with business matters I was approached by an African American female after about 10 mins who asked me 'Are you okay?' and proceeded to take my package out my hands without identifying herself or asking. She was also not in a postal uniform and on the civilian side of the room. In question, I asked her if she worked here and she decided to answer that question by yelling over the counter to an employee who looked like they were breaking down their cash till 'If they would ship this?'. Well, I now know you work here. The women said 'Its a flat rate box? Yeah, I would ship that no problem, whats wrong with it?'. This box was shipped to me in great condition by something I purchased myself online earlier in the week. I resealed the area it was open with packaging type MORE than secure and it was more than fine to endure shipping. Trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible and to even quote USPS on the box here 'PLEASE REUSE AND RECYCLE IF YOU CAN'. I have done this for 10 years and NEVER ONCE have had a problem at any post office. The package was not bulging and besides the tape in great condition. She gave me by box back in a snarky manner and walked off into a room that lead to the back. In a WOW state, I laughed and returned to wait. I hear a 'NEXT PLEASE' and approach a female Asian attendant. She thought this time would be best to take her sweet time after I approached to take off her sweater slowly then LAUGH in my face. Never once was I greeted or any formal customer service used or presented. I asked her what was so funny and she said 'I saw before, me no ship this'. The other associate who was breaking down her till and already closed from across the way said 'I told them I would ship it no problems, what is wrong with that box? I am sorry sir but my till is already offline or I would help you'. The Asian women said 'Get off line, get a new box and MAYBE I will ship it'. MAYBE? at that point I was kind of annoyed and said 'I have a job to get back to and have already been waiting 15 mins. There is nothing wrong with my package as noted by your fellow co-worker. The box was resealed with packaging tape and in environmentally friendly fashion can be reused... Do your job'. She decided to throw my box down on the table... How did she know what was in it? Walk away and yell 'SUPERVISOR' heading towards a backroom. I laughed and said 'What amazing service this place has!'. The one sane and respectable employee who was already off her shift breaking down her till asked two of her other co-workers to help me... Both who had NO ISSUES SHIPPING MY PACKAGE AND DID SO WITH GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I don't like to use bad reviews ever but when I feel violated as a human for NO REASON, there is reason to do so. I would avoid this particular office at all costs, while there are some REALLY nice people who work here... you don't know who you will get. Bring your business elsewhere. Often crowded, this branch is a busy one. I run a business and need the post office several times a week. I've used most of the branches within 4 miles of Hicksville but now only go to the Hicksville branch. I use this branch 2 or 3 times a week and have nearly always been greeted with a smile. The postal workers are efficient, professional, and seem to enjoy engaging in friendly small talk while doing what needs to be done. This post office is large but the attitude of the postal workers leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately, I have to use this post office often since it's the closest to me. I am hopeful with every visit that perhaps the staff may have received a much needed customer service training, only to be let down time and time again. Most of them are extremely rude, discourteous and have blatant disrespect for their customers. If you even ask for any help, they hurriedly dismiss you and make you feel like you are a causing them a major inconvenience. On my most recent visit, I had a flat rate package that was stamped and ready to go but did not fit in the bins. I approached an employee that was standing behind the counter to ask if I can leave the package with him. I told him that I did not need a receipt since I have the pre printed label. Not only did he not even look up and make any eye contact, he merely grunted "Get in Line". He did however make the effort to point to the barely moving line, which had at least 12 people standing there with 2 slow moving staff. I ended up standing in line for 20 mins for a transaction that literally took 2 secs to complete. There staff has no sense of urgency nor regard for anyone else time. Go to a smaller post office. There COULD NOT BE MORE MISERABLE EMPLOYEES than at this location. Every time is a hassle; workers act as they are doing you a huge favor...wish there were no stars rating option. Spoke to the supervisor "Tommy" who proceeded to take employee's side when I politely suggested they were wrong about not accepting my box. Turns out they should have accepted my shipment/label and provided a receipt as there was nothing wrong with the box - I went back to show them how my company works with usps and when in fact I was right, and with documents in hand, supervisor took over half an hour coming out to talk to me, and they didn't try at all to make anything right/better. This is the most efficient post office as far as getting mail out quickly. Some of them seem to care about the customers and try to make them happy. Some don't seem to care very mush. I would give them a B for customer service and A for getting the mail out fast and knowing their stuff. Overall whenever I mail anything there it gets there the next day. simply put, you go here for the hours. you can't beat it, especially when you work till 8pm some night. convenience isn't always linked to the best quality customer service, but as long as the job is done i'll live. parking does suck...the lot is way too small for how busy it is, and cars are always parallel parked behind the row making it really difficult to back out as a line of cars are fighting to get in and take your spot. are the postal workers the friendliest? not always, i'll admit...but i can understand that they see hundreds of people a day and I'm sure they endure their fair share of verbal abuse from angry patrons for mailing problems so i can deal with the cold demeanor for the simple fact that this post office is the most convenient. lines can be long at various peak hours throughout the day, but life is a series of line so i can't fault them for that. i give em a 3 because you go in and do what you need to at hours most other post office have long since been closed. handle your business, and get on with your day. i always stay positive when dealing with the clerks here bc 1 friendly customer in a slew of potential irate ones can go a long way in someone's day. read more

Hello, I am a student. My EAD card was delivered by USCIS and gave me the tracking no- 9205590153708472380998. when i track that it was showing, delivered in/at mailbox on july 22nd, at 12:56pmAfter getting an alert to my mobile, i have checked my mailbox. But nothing was there. I have contacted the usps customer service and told the same. they have provided me the local supervisor number 516 933 2470 and gave me a case no # CA129250003 I have contacted the supervisor on july 22 friday itself and explained the situation. he is telling "Its delivered to your mailbox, i have a gps location" and he said "some times the delivery person might update first and deliver in a short time" so i have waited for the whole day but no use. I have contacted the suprvisor on july 23rd(sat) but he is saying the same thing. I am sure it is not delivered to my mail box, because i myself checked the mailbox after receiving the delivery alert. I am not able to work without that EAD card. and if i need to reapply, i need to spend again $380, and should wait for 3 months. I ll be out of STATUS if i wait for 3 more months. I have so many people suffering from the same situation, "delivered to the mail box but not received the card." Its an very important document for a student. and I am not able to pay again $380 and 3 months of wait period to get a new card. read more

I have been going to this POST OFFICE for over 3 years not because I like to but I have to. Hours of Operation is the only reason I go here. They are open 9AM-9PM Monday to Friday and they close late at 3PM on Saturdays. You have to have patience and strong stomach to take the unfriendly attitude of these clerks at the counter. I have seen and familiarized myself with the staffs almost all 8 or 10 and only one of them pass the sense of being a good employee with good customer service attitude- He works in the morning, yes he is a he. I don't understand why the Federal Agency of the government like USPS hires and continue to employ people who suppose to serve the public with customer service excellence (as the US is an excellent nation) act like the public is a disturbance to what they are doing in the front desk. Most clerks here are rude, unfriendly and are not willing to work with smile. As I have been going to this place for 3 years, I have never been greeted with "Hello" "How are you" "How's it going"" or "Hi" I even know their names and behavior but never one of them seems to act like they know me as a loyal customer who at the least contribute to their salaries. I have mailed probably at least thousand packages already. You will also notice that whenever a clerk brings a Priority Mail or package at the back, expect a delay of comeback. Never talk to these clerks while they are taking care a customer, no, not even say " excuse me, can I ..." you will be immediately rejected and embarrassed by how they say their words. They don't try to help you if you make a mistake in your package. One customer I saw used a Priority Mail sticker on his package for a standard mail got embarrassed. He has no idea anything about mail or USPS services so he probably just used it thinking because it says USPS that he can use the sticker as a tape but was riddled with embarrassing tone from this clerk. So if you are looking to mail a package or anything that has to go through the USPS after office hours, this is the only place I know in Long Island that you can go to until 9PM M-F. I always go to my local post office whenever possible or to Garden City Western Nassau Post Office. Their clerks are the Best in the country in my experience. Hicksville Post Office in John street is the worst retail customer service experience you can ever have in your life as USPS loyal user. 99% of the time, people in line are complaining of the clerks attitude and work ethics. read more

I came to the Hicksville post office to pick up a package. I called ahead to confirm that the package was there (spoke to a nice, helpful gentleman named Mike). When I arrived, a lady by the name of Kit (short, colorful hair, Asian) took my package number and didn't show up for 15mins. When she finally came out, she told me the package wasn't there and I should go to the Jericho office. When I tried to explain that I had called ahead and was assured that the package was here, she ignored me and headed back into her office. She was absurdly rude. She dismissed me entirely. I have never been treated like that. Outcome? The package was there. I got it after calling Mike again. Worst service today! All I need to do is send an item of clothing back international mail. I went online filled out and printed the necessary forms and went to the Post Office. What happened to an employee trying to help you? After waiting online, the first Postal employee stated I needed to fill out another form and put it on the packaging. I asked if the forms I printed would be sufficient and was told no. I asked what forms I needed and was just waived over to the counter where the forms were. NO HELP HERE. I affixed a To - From form and filled out the info again. Waited online for another 15 minutes. The next employee asked why I put the TO- FROM form on the package when I had the printed labels,,, What??? because the first employee told me to. ok, so the printed forms I have is what is needed, all that needs to be done is affix to my package. I asked, Please, just help me send this out but wait, the Postal Employee has no tape.... Absolutely no respect for US Armed forces. This is now the SECOND time this exact post office gave me an issue sending a package to either an army base or a marine training camp in the US. How a US postal service has no idea how to send mail to a US address is beyond me. First time I went, they had no idea what an APO address was. Nasty rude women behind the counter have dirty looks acting like they knew everything. The one guy knew what an apo was and told me to fill out a customs form. Third time I went up that guy was helping someone else so when I went to another woman she had no idea what the customs form Was. I explained it was going to an apo address and she still said she didn't know how to input it. She just didn't put it in at all and said she would try later. Awesome. Second time I went to this location I was sending to a marine base training camp in North Carolina. I had the state and zip code and specific address the marine base posted to the website to receive mail. It is very specific on what information needs to be on there. It's a psc box on the base which is the same as a po box. The woman made me fill out a customs form. Then I went up a second time and she said I didn't need one. So I told her to throw it out. She said she couldn't send the package without a street. I said it's a marine base, there are no streets it's a box. She said she can't put the address in that I was giving and that she didn't know if it would get there. She was so rude so I got annoyed and she told me to calm down. I asked for a manager, she took my package left with it and returned with no manager. She continued complaining to another woman of her nationality, speaking to her not in English so I didn't understand what they were saying. She put the postage on there and said under her breath that she couldn't say it would ever get there with that address. I said why am I going to pay you 18 dollars to ship something when you're standing there telling me it might never get there. I said give me my package back and I left. The nasty people that work here are so miserable with their jobs and lives they do anything possible to pass that on to the customers. USPS is the ONLY way to send APO packages... How does the post office have no idea how to do this? Another time I had set up a PO box because I was displaced after hurricane sandy. My mail was getting lost and re routed bc of the hicksville PO box I closed it. When I went to them to track down a package they kept trying to sell me a PO box and I kept explaining to them that I already had one and that's the reason all my stuff Kept getting lost. I had to renew passports for my entire family including my son whos hours did not work for my massapequa post office so I had to travel to hicksville bc they have later hours I spoke with an extemely helpful person to make an appointment. He said he would help with the minors passport and would make sure the adults had everything in order. When i showed up for my appointment, i was 10 min early. I guess being promt or early seemed to tick them off. the staff made me wait on line, but there was no line...the office was empty???? The clerks were just looking at me and left to go in the back for a few minutes. after waiting patiently, a clerk called my family to her station. She was unfriendly ,did not even look at us, and pointed to a few spots where i needed to fill out info and quickly sent me away. I filled out what i needed and then a second clerk, who was a bit more informative called us up. He was a bit more helpful but in the most condescending way! He would only take care of my sons passport which by the way, u pay 25.00 for this service and not even glance at ours to make sure i had correct info. I felt so sickened by the way some people treat others that I teared up in the car home. I never gave anyone reason to treat us this way. I left with the other passports, and will go to my friendly passport office in Massapequa to send those out. read more
