He was professional, courteous, thorough, proactive, efficient and kept the line moving and everyone in the loop as he multitasked and answered questions while he checked my e mail to print my return label all while helping a young mother( baby in tow) move her boxes to the scale. A thoughtful and thorough gentleman! I had to return some shoes that I had purchased online. This UPS store made this process simple and quick. I love the great location in the Delco Plaza on the NE corner of Old Country Rd and Broadway with easy access from both. Returned an Amazon purchase which required no packing. They wanted to charge me $3.25 to put it into a return bag! THE WORST!!

Dropped off a box for post office pickup, i had them print the label and they charged $3.00 and then charged ANOTHER $3.00 for the post office to pickup the package!!! NEVER heard of this anywhere!!! Will not be back, you lost a customer! If I wasn't in a hurry, I would've left. read more

Absolutely terrible. I had my friend express my package and was charged almost $18 and was told by one of the workers that it will arrive tomorrow. So due to so call weather issue it didn't arrive the next day so if that was the case the worker could've said it might not make it in time and then I would send it through priority mail which was told it arrives Tues so today is Mon if this was the case I would've never pay that amount to express it if this service wasn't competent of making the deliveries in time and on top of that were charged almost $20 for something that can't be delivered in time. This is very unprofessional and it seems that UPS has a very bad track record of charging people for express service when it rarely arrives in time. I'm so frustrated cause I had my friend pay that amount for express service and was told it would arrive the next day. I can only imagine how many people are getting scammed like this and it's unbelievable. They need to hire people who is more professional and knows how to do their research on climate changes before charging people this much for a service that won't arrive in time. On top of all this the package was coming from Long Island NY to New York City so it's not like it's coming from another country or state so this is absolutely ridiculous on their behalf. People don't waste your money sending express if it doesn't get to you in time for all of that just stick to priority mail cause they obviously aren't confident of making the deliveries in time read more

Note hours posted on door ( see pix) I left with package in hand as I can not understand the young lady who works there with her soft voice and tight mask on her face. I ll have to try another day with a different worker who doesn't mind speaking up when I am not able to hear well. Very frustrating. read more

I went into my local ups store to return multiple items back to Amazon. When I walked in I had some items that needed to be scanned and others that needed labels and boxes, one needed to go to another drop off location. Sohil (the manager) at the hicksville location went above and beyond to help me with all the steps that had to be done. He had some emailed and helped me box up all the returns. Beware is this UPS store at 17B East Old Country Road! I had to drop off two Amazon return packages. It was in their brown original package (how it was sent to me) but guess what? I get there, this young dark hair male, told me that I needed to either put it in a bigger box or pay $15 each for shipping. I said they're in their original brown boxes already. He said no, can't do. He has to ship them both together. I thought it was odd and he said I'll just charge you the $15 for two instead. Since there was a line behind me, I didn't want to take too long but it didn't sit right with me so I called Amazon and Amazon was very upset and shocked. Remember, any packages sold by Amazon, it's FREE shipping back to them. We have filed a complaint against this UPS location. It's very sad and upsetting. A legitimate UPS store (not a UPS drop off), would scam people. It's not right at all. The manager at this location can check their security cameras. This incident happened yesterday Monday, 6/18 at 6:29pm. No staff should make the customers feel so intimated and being forced to pay when they didn't have to. ------------------------------------ Replying to your response, if that's the case, your staff NEVER mentioned that I should call Amazon for a second return label. My two options that he gave me was pay $15 for a box or $15 shipping for two items and he said that was a discount! That's so wrong! It's not right. Anything sold by Amazon is free shipping. The "business owner" of this UPS just recently responded to a review that I left on Yelp 1 year ago and unfortunately Yelp does not have the capacity to allow me to respond directly to the again "business owner" so I will be doing the following below. I am unsure of the owner's recollection of events as this is very much not how I remember such a disrespectful, highly unprofessional encounter. I didn't feel it necessary to post the course of events in my initial review as this is a a platform to rate customer service and not a platform to document my journey at a particular UPS. This was the following course of events. My father received a shipment of glass that was completely broken on arrival. After calling the company they sent him a UPS label and asked that he ship it back in order to receive a refund. I along with my father entered this UPS. I was not sitting in the car as the "business owner" states, because it was a fairly large package and I assisted my father in getting it through the door. Upon getting to the front desk, the woman who was servicing the counters demeanor completely changed. She was incredibly terse with us. As my father went to lift the package off the ground we realized there was a trail of broken glass leading up to us. My father immediately began apologizing and the woman began to scoff and rolled her eyes and said, "What am I supposed to do with this?" This was the point when I stepped in. My father again, an elderly immigrant man, was being incredibly accommodating and I along with him began to apologize and asked what we should do with the package as we were advised by the company to return it. She then proceeded to call to her manager who came out and saw the situation and immediately started berating both me and my elderly father. And again these were two white middle aged individuals berating me and my elderly immigrant father who were just looking to resolve the situation. I then offered to clean up the glass, because I recognize that it was completely our fault, and yes did put the safety of other customers and the staff in danger. I asked for some sort of broom and dustpan or anything they had to clean with so I could resolve the issue that we had inadvertently created. Instead of looking to resolve the issue or come to any sort of compromise the manager then shouted at me, "No, I don't need you filing any sort of lawsuit against me." I have much better things to do with my time than file a lawsuit against a UPS in Hicksville. I still remember every detail of this encounter because it was the most bizarre, unprofessional experience I have ever had. I honestly would not have created a follow-up review on the matter, but the "business owners" odd and very inaccurate reply left me astounded. It seems that this is a pattern for the "business owner" to rewrite his narrative in a way that is damaging to the customer's experience and in a time when accountability is so important I just wanted to clarify my end. read more

I have been going to this ups for years, all of the guys have always been super nice and helpful. Today I encountered the blonde older woman who I am assuming hasn't been working there no more than a year. This is my second interaction with her and I honestly have to say she is super unwelcoming, cold, and unfriendly. I thought that the first time I interacted with her but after this time it was confirmed. However I had 4 things to return to Amazon- she almost looked annoyed that I had more than just one thing to return and you can feel her negative vibe as I quickly looked for each code for her to scan, It also wasn't busy and I was pretty quick in pulling up the code. I guess in an effort to make small talk to fill the awkward vibe I stated that the shoes Amazon sent me didn't come in an actual shoe box just a cardboard box; she then tried to charge me for a bigger box to put them in lol when it is indeed an actual shipping cardboard box. It should've been quite simple and easy to print out the label and place on the box as ups always does. I said no that's okay, said if it was taped it should be no big deal, the guys have never given me a hard time about taping Amazon returns. She looked annoyed for a moment and said okay, I hope they arrive in good condition or something to that extent which frankly was extremely passive aggressive as well as condescending. After that comment I quickly felt uncomfortable and didn't trust to even leave the package with her; she tried to state that she cared about the condition in which they were being sent in? Not sure why because that is how they were shipped to me and let's be real why would she genuinely care? She wouldn't. She really lacks customer service as far as making a customer feel welcomed and being helpful. I then took the same package in its same condition lol and brought it to the plainview ups, the man happily took it and also taped it with no questions asked, and told me to have a nice day. I use UPS quite often. First time at this store and gonna be last time too. They guy working here made such a fuss for a TAPE. I asked him if he could tape the tiny box for me. He says I should consider buying TAPE and that he thinks no one in hicksville has TAPE. Couldn't take it anymore so I said I will buy the freaking TAPE. I'm not one to write bad reviews. But, this business is a bottom of barrel. Not doing right by you and will try to nickel and dime and sneak one in to get an extra buck. This was around weekday April 2016 early evening. So, I had two textbooks that I had rented from online the envelopes they shipped to me are also made to be shipped to return with. When you are done with the book, you print out the prepaid label put the books back in the and slap the label and you drop it of at a UPS store. Easy peasy right? So, I do all that. I go to this store and desk and I'm putting the label At the end of it, the sales person rings me up for ~$2. I was caught up in packaging the textbooks that I didn't think about it and wasn't aware. I was like for what? He was like its for the envelope for the first book. I wasn't thinking. I wasn't aware. I'm like whatever. Then, when I was fumbling for change, the person made some random comment about me doing that. As I went back to the car, I remembered the envelope that first textbook came in. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with it. It was more than capable of being sealed and having the new label placed on it. The textbook was placed into a new envelope for an extra two dollar charge! And, even if it was for an extra envelope was needed for that first textbook cause the original envelop was soo bad, this the real offense / charge / gripe: He didn't tell me that this envelope isn't good and i am going to need to put this in another envelope which will cost you $2 (LACK OF NOTICE) and then give me the opportunity to accept/decline the charge for the new envelope before packaging (OPPORTUNITY TO ACCEPT/REJECT THE CHARGE). He just rang it up at the end as if it was something that is to be charged. It's a very small thing - only $2. But, it's a very sneaky underhanded practice designed to take advantage of the unwary. Then to make an offensive comment as I'm fumbling for change. I didn't give them a piece of mind or flip out at them for two bucks. In hindsight, I probably should have in learning to make myself a more assertive person who stands his ground and is aware. But, lesson learned I see now these prior bad reviews are not coming from nowhere. So, a heads up to future shoppers. Buyer be wary. Caveat emptor. read more

I see why this location has such bad reviews. I wish I had looked at the reviews 1st. the manager is horrible. I came in here with 2 items to be returned to Amazon. one was a pair of sneakers that needed to be re boxed because they didn't like the sneaker Box. stupid me should have waited for them to Box it, label it and scan it, or just take it home and read it myself because amazon never received my sneakers. I went to UPS to talk about it because it's showing it was never scanned and I have all other kind of proof for the manager but he doesn't care. Too much work i guess. I told the manager want him to look at the cameras and see what happened to that Box, he says I don't wanna go back that far . it's only a month. if he really cared about his customers and really cared if somebody was stealing at the store he would go back and look at those cameras. terrible location.
