On April 18, 2026, at around 10:00 a.m., I experienced serious issues at the Hallandale USPS post office located at 500 S Federal Hwy, Hallandale Beach. I received rude and unprofessional service from the post office manager, Fernando, and a clerk named Nicolette. They refused to assist me or explain my options, declined to provide service, and refused to show their name tags when asked. As a result of their behavior, I became upset and expressed my frustration. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, they asked police officers to remove me from the premises. Apparently the carriers in this location feel it's ok to sign for all packages themselves, even when the customer pays extra money for a restricted delivery. This is not a one time issue, they have done this twice to me, even after speaking with someone at the office. read more

I don't know how it is on a regular day but I came here all the way from homestead fl for the passport fair. It was a complete circus. They were completely unprepared for this event and should never have one again. First they tried to separate over 100 people into 3 lines only to bottle neck into one line. There was nothing to distinguish where the line started or where it ended. Just a mob of people. It looked like the front of a night club. Just terrible. The people working here, actually the 3 to 4 gargoyles that work at the front are absolutely horrendous. This post office is well known for the attitude and disrespect that the employees spew over onto the customers. I have known this from the very beginning and I've witnessed nastiness multiple times. I used to go there and be prepared to fake a smile just to avoid any kind of issues. If I ever asked a question it was met with a defensive attitude and snappy language. That being said, I had one of the worst experiences there not too long ago. I recorded an audio of it. I stood there for 40 minutes trying to send a couple of letters and the staff REFUSED to provide service. This was at the time when masks were no longer required anywhere yet they refused to send my letters because I was not wearing a mask. I told them that there is no federal mandate and even looked it up on my phone to show it to them however they literally were talking nasty about me to each other and two other customers and picking up my packages and throwing them from counter to counter. The crazy thing is it doesn't make any sense, I told them that they literally are breathing the same air as me while they are making me wait. I asked for a supervisor the supervisor came and started whispering to them that they cannot refuse service to me or anyone else that is not wearing a mask. She told them that they cannot discriminate against me yet they kept huffing and puffing pretending like there's a big bad wolf. They told me that it is "their house and it is their rules" inside that post office. What's worse is that there are many customers there that didn't have a mask on properly or brought them down under their chin to talk to the employees and the employees themselves were not wearing masks properly yet they latched onto me and refused to provide service and were absolutely nasty to me. The ignorance in that building was incredible. They kept pretending like they were going to sign off and go home because they didn't want to continue working with someone like me, yet all they did was go to the back for a minute and then they ended up coming back signing back on and taking my letters. All of this after 40 minutes with a supervisor telling the two employees that they CANNOT REFUSE SERVICE. There are times that I am so shocked that humanity can be so obtuse. I'm looking for a post office with a self-service kiosk so I researched on the US post office website and found this location. Supposedly it's available until 12 AM. It's currently 8:45 PM and some lazy, under paid employee already closed the entrance to the self-service kiosk area. Negative 5 stars! I wish I got her name, but she was very rude, unprofessional, talking back to an older man (senior citizen) she was going back and forth with him. Even when the older guy stopped talking she kept egging on... and was talking about him to the people she was attending too about him. She did not have to keep talking back to him, and definitely didn't need to talk about him to the people she was attending too right infront of him and myself. she could've approached and handle the situation way better. this is the post office near my new home I moved to and this post office location is horrible. i packed items in a few boxes that were light not heavy and packed very well with care and some fraglie items were cracked damaged and also post office held my packages hostage until i paid fees on each box they held when they arrived in FL this is not Canada or Europe. I had to pay fees to get my boxes since my items were valuable to me and family but a total ripoff and stealing of peoples money also very nasty people low life waste of life's i spoke with. avoid this s-hole and drive to another location or a ups store there are a lot of them around Hallandale you may pay a bit more but you will avoid stress and lost $. read more

These are obviously employees who make half of what a real employee makes so they get ghetto expecting the world to be handed to them. I know how these people work. The benefit to this post office, is that they have a do-it-yourself stamping machine. The con of this place is that its always broken. or... they decide to do maintenance on the only machine during lunch hours. So if the machines is out of comission, you can always take the rest of the day off to queue up to post a simple letter. I've have gone there 3 times last month, and turned around and went to another post office. arg! I still give this office 3 stars cause they do have the machine. The employees are not held accountable at any level. The treatment to the general public is amazingly poor. Hopefully they will realize how good they had it once the whole thing is privatized and need to have some level of performance and customer satisfaction, the system will then vastly improve. This is one of the worst post office I have ever been to. They do not pick up the phone when you call. The mail service out of this post office is upholding, I work in a condominium association and they have lost mail going out and coming in a few times and they never can find it or trace it. Some time the mail is not delivered because the regular carrier called in sick and there was no one to replaced him. They do not care about their customers at all. I took the necessary information to renew passports for my kids at my appointment time. The postal worker, Janie, did not know the requirements for proof of citizenship. I had the certified birth certificates as required by law and the application directions. The supervisors know nothing either. I had to go to a different post office. DON'T GO TO THIS POST OFFICE. This post office is under staffed like many others, but what sets it apart from the rest is their inability to cope with the giant crowd of people in the seemingly never ending line. Plenty of parking, plenty of room to wait in line, and only 2 cashiers to help. Some of them spend an inordinate amount of time chit chatting with clients when there is people waiting on line, taking their own sweet time while talking stuff unrelated to transaction. I tried to buy stamps outside and automated machine was not working so i had to go inside to buy them, alerted the clerk about issue and instead of calling a manger, started saying that i was the onlu one that had a problem with it as if it was my fault. read more

OK, I have never been a fan of the Post Office. This time I can't begin to inform you how extremely helpful LaVerne (Clerk #20) and the other lady were. I am sorry that I don't remember the second ladies name. I had packaged up some pillows and had to piece together two boxes to get everything to fit. Shirley informed me that they could not accept my package as it was, because I had combined to Regional Box B. Under normal conditions at a Post Office, this would have been the point where they showed me the door. NOT TODAY! Between the two ladies they found me an acceptable box, provided me with packing tape, loaned me their scissors, let me use their pen for the shipping label she provided and even helped me to tape the box. You can't get better service than this and they smiled the whole time they were helping me. Thank you for the excellent service!! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I'm a wedding planner and my clients count on me to send out invitations. In August I went in to have her weight and measure an envelope to tell me what size stamps I would need. She told me, I bought them, went home put them on 300 invitations and came back two days later to ship them out. It was another woman who told me that I had the wrong stamp and would need 3 more!!!!! 3 more stamps PER invite!!! It completely ruined the look of the invitation! Her excuse was that the woman held the envelope the wrong way when she measured. Which makes absolutely no sense because the envelope had writing all over it so I don't understand how you missed that but whatever mistakes happen and I got over it. Fast forward to last week. I had to send out save the dates and refused to make the same mistake - I go back to the post office and again I have her measure and weight it. She tells me I need 71 cent stamps I asked her 5 times are you sure? Yup! 71 cents! Great I get custom 71 cent stamps put them all on and decide to go to a post office by my office to send it out. The woman takes the envelopes measures it and goes "oh you need $1 stamps" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! She shows me how she measures it and it was off by a quarter of an inch. Now what I don't understand is all the post offices have the same thing to measure so how in the world does the one in Hallandale get it wrong every single time. Seriously... I'm in shock! So here I go buying more 50 cent stamps to put on my already sealed envelopes. COMPLETELY RUINED. Just save your time and go to another post office they have no idea what they're doing. read more

Supervisor Sandy was extremely rude to me. I was at this post office today to get assistance with lost package. My package supposed to be delivered one week ago. She looked it up in a system and said that 2 days priority mail is not guaranteed. She can see it never was sent out for delivery from Texas. She said that she does not know when it will be delivered. She said I can not get my money back. I can only get my money back when package delivered... I asked her to give me her ID number. Her self along with her fellow co worker made fun of my mother, because she had the wrong tape on the box. To put the cherry on the fucking Sunday, she deliberately threw the box aside and told my mother to speak English, or else she would not send her package out. I'm appalled by the way the postal worker treated my mother at this location on Thursday. My mother went in with 50 prepaid small light weight boxes. The employee yelled at her and said this is the first time and the last time I'm doing this and go down there and throw the boxes in the bin behind the counter. Excuse me since when do we treat customers like this? She's getting paid by the us tax dollars and if she doesn't want the job I know plenty of people who would love it. Since when is there a maximum Of how many items a customer can mail at once? Where does it even say that? How are customers supposed to know this. Meanwhile I always see people with bins of letters etc sending them out. If the employee doesn't want to do her job, no worries the self service machine can do it and she won't have a job. She didnt for one need to be rude. Second if there are rules on how many items someone can ship she can explain that and give an alternate option. I went to a different location and mailed the same number of packages and they said although they are a smaller post office it's no problem. In fact them gave me large postal bags to place the boxes in and told me I could drop them off around the back. Leave your attitude at home when you work in the public sector. This is how a post office should operate. Everyone I have come into contact with at this location has been helpful and or friendly and have gotten me out of there as quickly as possible.
