I like this post office there is never long lines I come here on my lunch brake sometimes I find parking right away sometimes I circle around once until I get a spot. I never have a issue with mailing a package out. The employees are always helpful. read more

I just heard an employee ask a family with a crying child to wait outside. She has no right to ask people to leave due to a crying child. A rude ignorant employee who should not be working there.Likely the family did not speak English. As a Great Neck resident, I am ashamed of her behavior. read more

I didn't get my overnight service on a package. 48 hours later I put in a claim. Apparently had to go back to original usps office which I did but missed the refund window. Do not use USPS for overnight. Expensive and bad service and I'm angry about the refund refusal read more

Absolute disaster zone. Avoid dealing with this if at all possible--long lines, slow service, bad attitudes all around.

The staff here was extremely nice, went on a Saturday morning. People at the counter were very prompt and the gentleman (John) who handled our passport applications was very kind to my kids (we had to get passports for the whole family, adults and children). The appointment was way shorter than expected, we were in and out within 20 minutes but we also had all the paperwork ready to be submitted + all supporting documents. This is one of the worst post offices in the entire US. Very nasty folks working there, and incidentally, as a US tax payer, you folks are working for me. I suggest dropping the attitude. Very slow service when you finally do get called up to a window. The mail service in Great Neck, NY is very challenged with basic things such as delivering normal mail, forwarding mail, and doing a mail hold. You would think that seeing as these are basic tasks, they would not be so challenged, but there you have it. Five stars for the passport agent Sue, extremely efficient (from taking the application to getting the payment receipt, it took only 4 minutes!) and make the entire application process painless. This passport acceptance facility also accepts Credit Card Payment which is a huge plus. I took one star off because the passport agent before her took forever to process passport, and was chatting with customers. I'm not saying worker cannot chat with customer, they surely could if that helps the process and create a positive atmosphere in the workplace. However, when that interferes with your work efficiency, simply stop chat and work. I waited almost an hour before it was my turn. Also, it would be a great idea for everyone to get everything prepared prior to passport appointment so the whole process could really speed up, after all, when it was my turn, the process is only 4 minutes (pretty sure the customer ahead of me didn't get their documents well-prepared or read the instructions from the state department, which undoubtedly caused other customers have to wait). Get your application filled using the online filler if possible, and make copies of citizenship and IDs, check online for how to properly write your check to the State Department. read more

Main Great Neck post office. Has only two or three windows. Often has very long lines because in central business district. Very few free parking spaces and street in front a constant pain due to heavy traffic and clientele for ShopDelight supermarket, NICE buses coming in to turn around,etc. Personnel friendly but can take awhile for service. read more

The worst part of this experience is that we have no choice but to have our mail delivered by these guys. The Great Neck Post office is your run of the mill textbook definition of the lazy government worker. They spend their time and effort trying to do as little as possible and when they have to actually do the job they get paid to do, they do it with the biggest attitudes and a mountain of excuses on why its not their fault. I am so damn tired of having to check my mail to see mail from other houses in my mailbox. Who knows if any of my mail is going to other houses? Most of all, I'm so sick and tired of my packages not getting delivered. If I order something and the tracking says that my item is delivered then, common sense, I should open my door to see my package waiting to be brought into the house. If you want to get a hold of anyone who works at this location, prepare for multiple instances where they don't pick up the phone, unreasonably long hold times, and a huge attitude. There have been MULTIPLE accounts where I have a missing package and I get yelled and cut off while they tell me "Nope its not here" "Check the other branch" "we're doing everything the way we're supposed to" and get hung up on. Also, Why do I have to call a bunch of times just to get someone to pick up the damn phone? USPS has to either get rid of these lazy arrogant workers or provide proper training and humanly manners in order for us to see some improvements. Why must we jump through hoops and go on a wild goose chase to get proper service or even be talked to with respect? read more

Had nasty attitudes. Gave me a hard time because I needed a little extra tape for my package. I went to the other post office in great neck and south middle neck road and they helped me and gave me some extra tape no problem. I know which post office I will be going to from now on read more

If I could give it no stars, I would. Every time I've gone in the employees are miserable and if you try to avoid that interaction by calling instead, good luck because no one ever answers the phone. Worst customer service ever. Heaven forbid you lost a package because you can't get anyone to help you track it down. read more

My in person experience with the US post office on Welwyn Rd. is OK. The Post Office workers are courteous & respectful. If you need to call the PO forget about it never answers. My problem is with the Mailman who delivers the mail on CuterMill Rd. This guy is weird, not pleasant, arrogant & nasty. What is up with this guy.? read more

I wish Yelp would allow zero stars! This post office is a sheer disgrace. I have been living in great neck for over 25 years and it's always the same story: the workers at the post office windows are rude, extremely slow and vindictive. They are completely unmotivated. Today however was beyond just disappointment, it was plane abuse. One of the window workers, Morty (!) was having a very long and load conversation with a customer about baseball. I was online for over 10 min and he was just holding a receipt and continued leisurely talking with a customer about baseball. There were only two windows open and the line quickly became very long. Customers at the other windows started to complain about two blabbers to be very loud because they couldn't even hear the other lady worker.. Then somebody in the line said: " why don't you guys just go out to dinner afterwords and talk about baseball then?" I supported the argument... Boy, was I shocked by the outcome !!! Morty started to yell back at everybody very loud and aggressive. His "conversation" partner just went straight to profanity towards everybody. Cheered by Morty he proceeded to plane threats of physical violence. Not surprising to me the other postal worker that was leisurely sitting at a "closed" window loudly said to Morty just keep doing what he was doing and not pay attention to the long line of customers... Expect nothing but being ignored and abused at this location. read more

very slow. Attitude seems to be completely impartial. Not impolite just indifferent to customers and how long the wait may be. Hate using USPS priority mail as roughly half of all packages are delayed by a day or two with what appears to me to be invented problems (undeliverable address, Block mail recepticles..etc). All of which have no basis in fact from what I can discern. To be fair most PO's I have been to seem to have the share the same glacial pace and disregard for customer service. Great Neck just seems to be better at it than most. read more
