I've been living here two and a half years and there's lovely people that work at this post office…read more But today my experience with a man called "Kevin" was unbelievable. He was totally rude did not want to help me told me to go home and get on my computer and look it up. I've never seen him at this post office. I think he's filling in but maybe he works at the Lakehurst post office. Actually he shouldn't even be working at all. He doesn't know how to deal with the public and is rude. On his phone chatting laughing at me making a fool out of me. Then a lovely lady called Gloria helped me out ( hope I got her name right) she was a breath of fresh air. Help me out in every way possible did everything for me with no problem. She has helped me in the past at the Lakehurst post office. And I just want to say she's great and helpful and always been very kind to me when I needed her help. So Kevin... you need to go. People don't need arrogance and that's what you are full of arrogance. They need to get rid of you. You're no asset to the Post office.. Gloria again you are the best stay there forever!!

Here, "going postal," is still a good thing. So, I was there after an appointment on the nearly deserted Island Beach, and needing to get something mailed immediately with today's postmark. I couldn't just put the letter through the slot and hope for the best. I requested that the stamped envelop be posted with the current date in bold ink. No problem. The acting postmaster himself took the letter and with precision and fury, dropped the handheld stamp canceller down on the upper right corner of the envelop. Wham! With printing as clear as a bell and black ink, the mission was accomplished. No fuss. No muss.

Easy in, easy out. 4 Stars instead of 5 because they do not have an automat at this location, and their hours are still very limited. I know that it is not the fault of the individual location, but these decisions are made by the central management.

He was also thoughtful to delay shipment while there was heavy rain in Tom's River, New Jersey to avoid cardboard damage. See attached photo for the internal-most bubble wrap protection. There is almost never a line and when there is a line it is typically just one person in front of you. The staff is super awesome - always friendly and helpful and even remembers your name if you show up regularly.
