I always feel dumb-founded at times when trying to figure out the best way to send out domestic packages or online shopping returns with pre-packaged labels. The individuals at the counter are always helpful, the store is always well stocked with needed supplies, and it is always clean and welcoming no matter the time of day. Be warned-this place can get crazy around lunch time! And pulling out of the parking lot can feel maze-like!

For a postage stamp sized post office, the Seaside Park branch takes care of business. From the…read moretiny lobby with classic post boxes with copper hinged covers, to the even smaller counter service area inside, the folks here get everything postal done with efficiency and a smile. Here, "going postal," is still a good thing. So, I was there after an appointment on the nearly deserted Island Beach, and needing to get something mailed immediately with today's postmark. I couldn't just put the letter through the slot and hope for the best. I requested that the stamped envelop be posted with the current date in bold ink. No problem. The acting postmaster himself took the letter and with precision and fury, dropped the handheld stamp canceller down on the upper right corner of the envelop. Wham! With printing as clear as a bell and black ink, the mission was accomplished. No fuss. No muss.

Easy in, easy out. 4 Stars instead of 5 because they do not have an automat at this location, and their hours are still very limited. I know that it is not the fault of the individual location, but these decisions are made by the central management.
