Unlike many post offices, this one is no-frills at its best. The clerks don't push stuffed bunnies, lapel pins, or framed stamp artwork while you're trying to conduct business (unlike the Hazelwood branch). They do have a small stand of shipping materials to buy, but they also have plenty of their own packaging for free. Also a huge plus for this location is that there is no mail pick-up here (hold mail, packages, etc.). They do, though, have post office boxes at this location. The clerks seem up-to-date with their training, so they can answer most questions right away - no disappearing behind a wall for 15 minutes to tell you they can't help! This is by far the worst post office I've been to. The woman at the front desk has a bad attitude every time I come in. If you dislike your job that much, maybe customer service isn't the right fit. There's no reason to take your frustration out on customers who are simply trying to get help. What's frustrating is that when I go to other post office locations, the employees are friendly and professional. there is an older black women that works here that is very mean to white people. she yelled at me because my foot was over the line where it says stand behind line here and I am 65 years old when I finally got up to the counter she had a melt down about how my labels read the to and from but actually its the was I had been using labels for 35 years and because the employee was so ugly and disrespectful I went to the USPS on Lindbergh and sent it with the same label they had no problem with my label. USPS has some bad bad employees and they do nothing to them. they let them treat people like crap. read more

The lady that works at the post office on Shackelford in Florissant, is very rude, especially to white people. She is super picky about how things are packaged and almost always has a comment. You can bring the same package to the PO on Lindbergh, and they won't say a thing. There are also numerous restrictive rules that make the visit unpleasant and inefficient. Only two customers are allowed in the lobby at a time, despite the space being large enough to accommodate many more. Customers are reprimanded for stepping slightly ahead of the rope, and cell phone use is not permitted while waiting in line. You have to wait in line to drop of a package that is pre-labeled. A simple drop-off area at the end of the counter, like the one at the other Lindbergh location, could easily alleviate congestion. There is a drop box in the lobby that small boxes will fit in, but she doesn't want you to use it for that because she says it gets clogged up. If the post office didn't intend for small packages to be dropped in there, they would have just installed one with a letter slot instead. The sheer number of rules and the manner in which they are enforced creates an unwelcoming environment. Numerous reviews going back several years describe the exact same issues, yet nothing appears to have changed. The worst post office in all of St. Louis. I have been going here for over ten years and nine out of ten times I have an issue with mean ladies who work here. Today the lady was ordering me around and I asked her is she was getting a thrill out of it like she has some special power. I have never been treated so rudely in any establishment as I have been treated in this post office. I don't know if it is reserved to one particular employee, or if it is the office as a whole. Every time I go, it is the same woman. She speaks rudely to every customer For some reason, only two people can still go into the main area, despite the fact that Covid restrictions have ended. Every other office I have been, and no longer requires these, and employees I have spoken to at other post office says have been told they need to remove them. Regardless, instead of politely asking people to wait, the woman has actually yelled at people if they try to walk in when there two people in the area and has told them to get out. She even yelled at two elderly women, and rattled one of them so much she could hardly make sense to mail her package. It was painful to watch. The last time I was there and asked her a question, I tried to clarify, and she stopped me and told me that she was still talking, which she had finished her sentence, and I was not interrupting her. She scolded me like I was a child. She has also refused to mail my packages on two separate occasions, telling me they were too small. I have taken them to two other post office is now, and they have both told me that there was nothing wrong with the sizes and have measured them, and said they were perfectly fine to ship. This woman seems to make her own rules. Honestly, she should be reported to someone since this is a government office. I will never step foot in there again, unless I find out she no longer is employed there. No one has the right to treat people as disrespectfully as she does. I really hope someone from the office reads this and takes some kind of action to correct her customer service and rude behavior. read more
