I go there only if I really have to because whenever I went in, there is one person, or maybe 2 people to help you. I wait for 20 - 25 minutes. I hit 1 star but I really wanted to give it a zero. On August 24, 2021, I'm waiting for a delivery and I get notifications that it was delivered. I check immediately, NOTHING! I go to all apts as mine and no one has my package. I check with several neighbors that has the RING device and the delivery man never came to my side. I check my brother's device and the delivery guy is looking around very confused. Come to find out, a lot of customers didn't get their deliveries that day and a couple of HONEST neighbots took packages to correct doors. This post office is the worst. I have been dealing with delivery issues for over a year. I have a huge sign on my front door telling them where the mail box is but they still dump it on my front steps. I have to go and collect my mail from the garden, steps, neighbors lawn. The blind could see the sign I got the biggest one available yet they still do it. I complain and nothing is done. Today it was my stuff from the IRS that I had to collect from all over the yard. I am so tired of these lazy people. They need to get fired and start with someone who wants a job and is willing to work for their pay. I have been here 18 years and this is the worst that it has been. It is unreal. Maybe they should go private because they are really now worth what they are being paid as a Federal agency. Furthermore, they say that they deliver packages which they do not (Amazon) and then they lie when Amazon follows up with them. I offer to send in my video clips because they don't even come to my house let alone the yard to drop off the packages yet in the system they say delivered. What is up with that? They lie. Steal. In less than 2 weeks i have had 2 packages that said "DELIVERED, FRONT DOOR/PORCH and have not received neither. I have known of this office since the late 70's as a child, now what this Post Office is and what its level of customer service has morphed into today is horrible. There are probably 1 or 2 people there that are proficient and give excellent service. I addressed a problem of not receiving my mail on time when tracking shows items sitting in that location for days and I get a "shrug' and "it's like that sometimes". Some etiquette classes would be an investment to consider but I doubt that would ever happen. No wonder the U.S. Post office is losing $$$ and almost in the toilet. read more

They deliver packages to the wrong addresses. Many of my orders were delivered to someone who lives 2 blocks away. She was kind enough to bring them over. But usps had lied to amazon and said the packages hadn't been delivered yet. Also: Most of the things you order that are fragile will arrive cracked or broken and banged up everything that has been delivered via usps since we moved here has been cracked broken opened! Etc. In additionto your mail being opened. They are government ran so your chances of customer service being helpful when you call to complain is pretty much 0%. I love amazon but they often use usps probably due to the low shipping costs and since amazons customer service is so excellent they refund you for things lost via usps. There should be a law against inputting false information into the USPS delivery & tracking system. I got an email stating that a delivery was attempted but there was no secure location to leave package. Notice left. I was home at the time and no attempt was made & no notice was left. I requested thru the Postal website to have the package held for pickup. Went to post office & package was not there & was told by unidentified employee to go home, it will probably be delivered. Requested to speak to supervisor. He contacted carrier & had package returned to post office. This is by far the worst Post Office I have ever dealt with. This local post office is getting worst and more disappointing. Not only are they slow but they are also not that efficient and they lack customer service skills. I am not sure if they don't have the knowledge about the operations of USPS, but they sure act as if they have no idea about anything thing and refuses to provide you with necessary information when ask as if you are bothering them. Not to mention the attitude as if they are not happy to be at work. They don't know how to deal with the public. I wanted to tell one of them that she should have took the day off. Because of the attitude that she possessed. Maybe she was having a bad day. But it's not my fault. Leave that attitude at home. And they lost my package because they refused to put a building number in the system to the delivery address telling me that the building number was not necessary. And this package is worth $600. Unfortunately this was not that important to the person who assisted me. Even though I emphasized that I have very important things in my package. They don't take their job seriously and are very careless. So now I have to wait for weeks or even months until they do an investigation to find out where my package went before I can even get a reimbursement. I am so disgusted with these people at this post office.I have just had enough of this place. They need to either shut down this location or retrain them or just hire new people who really wants to work and know how to be professional and not have their phone sitting on the desk in front of them as if they are waiting for a phone call. We have been having numerous issues with our mail delivery and pickup at our apartment complex. We have contacted the local post master general, the 1-800-ASK-USPS and USPS consumer affairs with little real improvement. We have now been labeled "the people who complain". Here are some examples of how our mail has been mishandled: - Misdirected mail (usually to the wrong numbered address) - Mail never delivered (family/friends have mailed us wedding invitations and holiday cards that we never get ect, ect.) - Lost (then found weeks later) parcels - Unsecured (unlocked) apartment mail box - The outgoing mail box is FULL of mail (tax forms, juror forms, medication envelopes, Veterans Administration forms, numerous other items)!!! I am disgust with the bad service the post office on Far Rockaway is giving to its customers. It is like the workers are just there for the pay check, nothing more; especially, the ones that are delivering packages. They are liars. They are always putting attempts when they don't even try to do their jobs. I was home all day, waiting for my package to come, to get an attempt pop up on my e-mail. And when I call to talk to the supervisor, she hung up on me. I even had to go to the office personally, the workers behind the counter were very rude. One of them even threatened me by saying she would "Pop me" she knows how to "Pop off". I guess they are protected by the government, therefore; they don't have to give good service. That is why I hardly order anything off the internet, because I don't want to deal with the postal workers at Far Rockaway post office. To not have to deal with those rude people, I had to give my phone number to one of the worker, because I had to place a complain in the past, so every time, he would call me to come down and get my package. I am SO FRUSTRATED! Every package mailed to our home has been left on the sidewalk in front of our home and has been stolen. Instead of leaving notices in our mailbox so that the packages can be securely picked up, the literally leave it on the sidewalk in front of the door in plain sight. I happen to be home early today and caught the postwoman who LEFT THE PACKAGE ON THE SIDEWALK AGAIN TODAY! I asked her why and she immediately began to make excuses: "I'm not the regular person..." Not sure why do I have to pay for deliver if your not coming to My door as Ups ALWAYS do. I have been dealing with the service out of this Post Office since 2006. It was, and it is now back to being the worse in service I have dealt with in my 60 years. In 60 years I have lived in quite a few postal zones, and have had great to horrible service for which The Mott Avenue, Far Rockaway, NY 11691 office takes the price in HORRIBLE service. There was a short stent of a year or two where we had an OUTSTANDING carrier, but she is no longer our carrier. Really trying hard to give the new carrier a chance. But when said person refuses to delivery a 1 or 2 lb. package to the door for signature for what ever reason I find that totally unacceptable. This post office sucks! I missed a package delivery on January 11, 2016. I went online and scheduled a re-delivery for January 16, 2016, which was a Saturday and I knew I'd be home. No package delivery. I went online and scheduled another re-delivery for January 23, 2016, which was another Saturday, no package delivery. Today is January 27, 2016 and I still don't have my package. I live in an apartment building. Depending on who the carrier is on a particular day, I sometimes have packages waiting in front of my door when I get home or my intercom will ring asking me to come downstairs to get the package, neither has been done. As I'm writing this review, I've scheduled another redelivery for this coming Saturday and I am on hold with USPS where the automated agent told me my wait time will be between 45-50 minutes.
