This post office needs to be closed or else its entire staff should be replaced. Do not ever send out anything of value here. I suspect there is a lot of pilferage going on too as I have had a few packages lost or missing and never received. how is that possible. The parcels that went missing were always large packages and rather heavy. The return address was also one of the popular internet selling sites. So I'm sure they are being scrutinized for desirable contents with value. The manager should be aware of the conduct of the employees he is supervising. Yet the unprofessional and rude conduct persists. How does that get tolerated. Customers online can be seen constantly having issues with the clerks. So the pathetic service is in full view. It's impossible to telephone the actual facility because the number listed is not in service! I'm sure they are using the pandemic as an excuse but the service has been terrible for years, way before. AVOID this place at all costs. read more

After a failed delivery for a package, I was informed that I had to pick it up from this location. As I entered the building, I noticed that only 2 windows out of 5 were open. One of the employees behind the window was VERY UNACCOMMODATING and only asked for what it said on the tracking status for my package. After I told her that it was a failed delivery and that it stated "Ready for pickup", she told me rudely that it was out for delivery. She didn't ask for a tracking number or ANYTHING. JUST the status of the tracker for my package. However, I have waited the whole day for the package and nothing has arrived. My package contains items that I need for TOMORROW morning and now I am without it. Not only are they unaccommodating- but my time was wasted and there is no sense of hospitality for the customers. Also, the place could use some organization. There were mailers that were for sale and they were very unorganized. They had little holders for forms that were empty. What a disaster. read more

This place deserves minus stars. This location lost 4 packages in 1 month!!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous, this is why you are going out of business and UPS is so much better! Today one window is open, one!!! This line is intolerable and the workers are rude. A man came in asking for the manager because his mail keeps being delivered outside his building and the manager refused to talk to him. Um, yeah you are so busy just watching your one teller wait on a huge line and you aren't doing anything, and you can't help anyone either. He refused to speak to him unless he came back at closing time. Um, people have lives and jobs, oh and by the way, your job as the manager is to help customers. If this was a normal business like a store, restaurant, hotel, that manager would have been fired immediately! Not to mention the nasty attitude like we are beneath him. read more

I don't have to go to the post office often, but the few times I've been here was without much incident. The long wait times, I've found, was due more to the customer's inability to speak English, as this facility serves a fairly diverse area, including Elmhurst. More times than not, the rep I've dealt with is what I can only describe as an older, white, hippy woman. She always has a good, cheerful attitude. More recently, I was expecting an Amazon package on Saturday, 1/23/16 and it was marked as undeliverable due to a "blocked receptacle." This was before the snow really hit during the Jason blizzard. Puzzled (because there wasn't anything blocking anything, and parcels are routinely left in my lobby; I called the national USPS # who opened a complaint case (I didn't ask for one). On Monday, 1/25, I received a call from a private number, and the speaker, a male, with an Asian accent, apologized for the delay, and said re-delivery would be attempted on 1/26. No delivery. I called the Rego Park # and spoke to a gentleman who said they were swamped, and they were doing everything they could, to sort out the packages they were deluged with, but I was asked to PLEASE not come in, as it would be difficult to find the package. Looking at my tracking updates, there were none, despite scheduling a re-delivery (I even got a confirmation of it). As of yesterday, my tracking updates weren't updated on the USPS website, and when I attempted to schedule a re-delivery, a message popped up stating that re-delivery wasn't possible in my zip code, and to go pick up the package. I had the day off, so I walked over to the facility. While waiting in line, I saw a sign to the effect of, "If you were expecting a package between 1/23-1/25, delivery was delayed due to the blizzard. Sorting will be completed at the end of the day." Oh, shit, I thought. There was no date on the notice. Just by chance, I saw an Asian gentleman running around behind the reps, and he took over a window, as another rep went off somewhere. As soon as I heard him speak, I knew he was the guy who called me. I explained the situation to him, and after showing him my I.D, he came back with my package. He could have blown me off, being that he already seemed harried, and there's nothing like pissed off people to deal with all day. Get real people. 6 p.m. is like rush hour at the post office; think about how you're stuck at work as the day is winding down. Also, dealing with non-English speaking people all day, and reminding people all day long that they didn't fill out the right label, or the wrong field (when the instructions clearly state the instructions- I've been guilty of that myself). So, yeah, it's annoying to get a notice stating a delivery attempt was made, when in fact, none was made, is misleading, and annoying. I don't know if that's the norm, as I've gotten my Amazon packages delivered MOSTLY on time. I was mostly impatient that the headphones I ordered as a reward to my son had to wait. I got 'em today by personally picking it up. I'd like to think my attitude when I got to the window helped some. If I was pissed off and yelling, the guy may not even have made the effort. Whatever the real case, no lives were lost, and it wasn't as if I was expecting life saving medicine. While I've done my share of complaining on Yelp, I do try to find perspective in the situation. People are impatient, and often vent their anger at the first person who will listen, and that's often the person standing in front of them. Overall, I get my mail, and deliveries on time- for the most part. I'm not saying we should lower our expectations, but be realistic about them. read more

This is the worst post office known to man. Every time I step foot I'm here I instantly regret it. The incompetence and the attitude is ridiculous. Firstly they don't have anything ever. There's an Asian lady who insist on giving a hard time. She tells me I need to hand write my address on the package even though it's a pre-printed label with a barcode. She then charges me the wrong price to mail my passport after I told her I needed a tracking number she recharges me the correct price and I tell her I need the proper change so I'm not paying twice. She tells me to subtract it and tell her my balance. Like are you kidding me. And if I didn't say anything she would let me walk out paying for two shipments and I only shipped one. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!! I am so fed up with their bullshit. I work and go to class 6 days a week and the only day I am off is on Sundays. So seeing as how I am literally busy every minute of the day I didn't have any time to pick up the package myself if I were to miss it. So I had my grandmother stay home ALL Saturday for me to wait for the package. They never even attempted to deliver it I just saw a notice update saying "no secure location available" "Notice Left" which there was no notice left when I came back home, what a load of bull. Then on top of that I just let it go so I thought you know what maybe it's just a one time problem I'll just reschedule for Monday. THEN Monday arrived and It was still early in the morning before I was getting ready to go work and supposedly they "attempted" to ship my package during the time I was home and I was wondering why did they leave a notice again? I was home what is this? guess what? TO THE WRONG ADDRESS! The zip code isn't even CLOSE. It's like they were drunk when they were delivering people's packages. "Notice Left" yeah just at the WRONG ZIP CODE. What's worst now is they just have this customer service number up on the site for looks. It's always unavailable. I try so hard not to just walk in that post office and just curse up a storm. I wish I could give them 0 stars. 1 stars is just far too generous for such horrible service. read more

i am so fucking pissed. this usps deserves literally -11 stars. they have already lost two of my packages and in total its worth over $150!!! both times i would be tracking the damn package and they would indicate "delivered" and i would have someone at home go downstairs to check but nope. literally nothing is there. i even went to the restaurant to my right and deli to my left to ask if it was left there and nope! nothing! they don't leave you a damn pink slip and if they do they give you the wrong usps location. absolutely terrible. i would advise everyone to have their packages sent to other friends addresses bc id rather do that then let this usps lose my damn packages. also, now i have to file two claims and wait for their claims dept to reimburse the companies that i bought my stuff from and that will probably take forever knowing how inefficient they are. the worst. read more

This is another example of wasted tax dollars spent on paying government employees who practice mental flaggellation. I too can join the endless list of being lied to about delivery attempts and delivery notices. the carrier does not even bother to ring your bell and it's apparently too much of a strain to leave a delivery notice. After days go by and still no package, one is finally made privy to the fiasco of events only to be told that the package is being returned to the sender! Furthermore, no one picks up the phone at this postal office so you can let it ring off the hook. I don't understand how such work ethics are tolerated and people still have jobs working like this. You have to ask your self.... Would this be tolerated at a post office servicing Park Avenue? I think not! read more

By far the worst post office I have ever encountered. I go here often for the sole purpose because they are open until 7PM. The staff are the most rudest and unprofessional employees I have ever encountered in any business establishment. There is one particular employee an older Asian lady who is by far the most nastiest and unprofessional employee I have ever encountered. I go to the window to drop off my packages and have them scanned, and this women tells me in a very rude manner that she will not accept the packages because I need an additional form. I've been to over several dozen post offices over the years and dealt with about 100 different postal employees and never did I have an issue going to the window to drop off a package. I have already filed a complaint with USPS. If this post office wasn't open until 7PM I would never come here. read more

If only I can give 0 star! Poor quality of service, staff are very rude too. I was away for a month and a half, so requested to put my mail on hold for a month. I came back home only to an empty mailbox. I reported the problem but nobody bothered to help. Only after I complaint several times online, did the branch manager replied me with a very shitty explanation. Again, yesterday, they rerouted my package to a nearby post office without leaving a notice in my mailbox because "Customer not available or business closed " while I was home the whole day. Just like every other recent review of this horrible facility that they call a "post office" I WISH I can give this piece of crap 0 stars! Im going to start off by saying that I NEVER review places but this has forced me to do so! I have had numerous horrible experiences where the delivery guy left my package in front of my door, pretty much for just anybody to snatch up (mind you, I live in an apartment building with 18 floors where 100s of people walk in and out of) I've also experienced failed attempts with no slip notice left in my mail box, I've found my package lying in the mailbox room broken into without my product anywhere to be found. Man this list goes on and on but today takes the cake!! So once again I received via email that my package was attempted to be delivered but failed at 3:54pm. How is this when I was home all day, literally took off from work to wait for my product knowing how the postal service is! I took it upon myself to walk all the way to the post office at 6:00pm (since that's the time they finally decided to post that a delivery was attempted) just to talk to some women who obviously doesn't give a shit about her job or my situation! She simply told me "we don't have anything under your name here". Really? How is that so? If a deliver is attempted to be made but isn't successful, shouldn't they bring the package back to the courier facility?? So I said this to her and her remark was "oh well sometimes the guys leave the packages on the truck over night because they are going to deliver it again the next day" well if that was only true, because even if so she should be able to tell me for certain if my package is on a trunk by simply typing my information into their system but I guess that's too much for her to do! All in all if my package doesn't get to me by tomorrow, something definitely tells me that they have people working in there stealing packages. It would be different if they delivered it to another apartment and someone accepted it, but it's stated online that it's in their possession! Unfortunately our us postal service is a failing business the employees act careless and don't really care whether there's one person or 20 people on line.
