Hands down, this is my favorite post office!…read more First of all, it is situated in a very pleasant place, Cold Spring Harbor. It's always a pleasure taking in the ambience of such a picturesque part of Long Island with so many vintage buildings with a harbor backdrop. While this post office does not have its own parking and street parking is usually taken up, there is a public parking lot next door and almost always has available spaces. The post office itself has very helpful and charming help. I have never had such outstanding service in a post office before. It doesn't get better than this! It's never that crowded, either. At best, I've had two people ahead of me, but more often than not, I am the only one there! I wish this post office and all its employees the very best. While I live 15 minutes away, I'd much rather go here than to my local post office.

Not only are they sullen, but they don't understand a lot of the USPS services (i.e., Click-n-Ship). If you are nice to them, they are nice to you. I don't think I was always nice to them so I don't know when I decided to just not be such an ass but it has worked in my favor many, many times over. When I sent out my first wave of wedding invitations I asked Rosa (Who is usually at the last station at the far right) if she could hand cancel my invites because I didn't want them to get eaten by the machine and she did it! Pete (who got transferred to Miller Place) also helped me out with the invite situation. They've looked in the back for empty boxes for me to ship things and always go above and beyond to help me. This PO use to have one of those automated machines but it's gone now which sucks. I have to head over to Smithtown on 111 for that. It's a small PO but if you're just sending things out and picking up it works just fine!

I kindly asked the miserable employee with a puss on his face if he could put some tape on the bottom of my package to secure it and he replied "we are a no tape office " .....ummm what the f$@k??? He proceeds to tell me I can purchase packaging tape but he just sold the last one . Again WTF??!!!! He then rolls his eyes at me walks away and comes back with a big roll of packaging tape and secures my package. Now was that so hard? Why he had to make a production out of it was beyond me. I have been going to this Post Office for years and have come in contact with some nice and not so nice employees but he was the worst. Also, I have NEVER had an issue with a simple little thing called TAPE at a post office. And whatever happened to "how can I help you" when greeting a customer and when you are done with your transaction how about "have a nice day" . Apparently those words don't exist in miserable employee #20 vocabulary. I will not return to this Post Office again . Why go somewhere when you KNOW you are going to get treated like crap.
