Nothing can be done however because they are the government. No assistance or even a bit of caring from the post office or an effort to improve their service. Worst than a third world country.

Unfortunately that has lead to the hiring of some questionable staff. Regardless, the majority work very hard and love what they do. The work of all delivery services is not as easy as most think. Lots of details to getting your packages to you. .78 to mail a letter anywhere in the US is one of the cheapest things you can do. Package pricing is lower than ups/fed ex.
