VERY rude counter person. I would go to the Sandpoint post office if you want nice customer service. The Sagle lady maybe needs to retire!

Stellar customer service. They really go out of their way to try to make sure that customers have…read morea good experience-- even if those "customers" are hundreds of miles away. I don't live in Sandpoint and have never been to the post office there; I live in western Washington. My wife recently ordered a package from a company located in Sandpoint, which our local town's post office (a really horrible one) screwed up-- the local carrier delivered to the wrong addres and then lied about it, and trying to deal with our local post office was a nightmare (they stonewall, they don't answer their phones, they're rude and unhelpful in person). The problem was entirely on this end-- the local office here in WA messed up. It had nothing to do with Sandpoint, there's no reason why Sandpoint's post office needed to be involved at all. However, the company that had sent us the package contacted the postmaster in Sandpoint, and I have to say, I was totally blown away. The Sandpoint postmaster clearly really cared that our package had gone astray (even though it was in no way her fault, and involved a post office hundreds of miles away). She did her best at her end to try to help us, contacting our post office directly (or trying to-- our local office is so awful that she couldn't get anywhere, either, through no fault of her own). This drama went on for the better part of a week, and she engaged with us multiple times, both by phone and by email. This was remarkable. We had no expectation of help from Sandpoint's post office (it wasn't their fault, we figured they weren't involved), but they really took the initiative to try to help us find our package, and also to try to help us get some resolution to the customer-service problems we had at the local office. It was a clear attitude of "if you have a problem with *any* US post office anywhere, then that's *our* problem." Really refreshing to encounter such an attitude these days. I suspect that the fact that Sandpoint's service is so wonderful comes down to the postmaster there. I gather that Sandpoint is a fairly small town, so it may be that the postmaster essentially *is* the post office. If so, all i can say is: Sandpoint is lucky to have her!
