If you knew how the United States Postal Service is run, you would never complain again (at least…read moreto the guy weighing your package.) The Post Office is for all intents and purposes a jobs program managed through a strangulating thicket of outmoded work and funding rules by the United States Congress whose members all want to deliver jobs and pork to their districts damn all sanity and economic logic. Congress has driven the country $30T into debt, do you think for a minute they're going to shed their fiscal mania for the Post Office. Most of these legislative leeches couldn't run a fruit stand profitably. Over the past twenty years first class mail has all but evaporated and the front desk at the USPS has gone from selling stamps to handling pallets of online shipments while their Congressional overseers have allowed UPS, FedEx and Amazon to eat their lunch on pricing and speed. So, if things seem a little haywire I never blame the good folks on the front lines. Sure the mail has been a little slow but I blame our latest and lamest Postmaster General Louis DeJoy who in a desperate attempt to Make the USPS Great Again has intentionally cut back hours, services and available technologies to their legally permissible limits. And let's be real, over the last decade customer service has taken a nosedive in every conceivable industry from health care to the Jelly of the Month Club so rudeness and incompetence is hardly an exclusive virtue of the USPS. Like anywhere else, it just depends on who you get. The USPS does a fine job considering the idiots running the joint. Five stars for the front line who soldier on admirably while their masters choke on the entrails of their pork. Oink on Senators.

Yes they can drive you crazy. But they deliver (ahem) day after day. Their costs to mail packages…read moreis way cheaper than the competition. The employees are almost always patient and kind. They're always on their feet. They have to deal with us...the public. AND they are restricted heavily by the government. If they were a publically traded company I'd buy stock in them.

So given the raft of pretty terrible reviews here, I thought I'd relate my experience. I'm located…read morein Brooklyn and ordered a washer + dryer through Appliances Connection. As is similar to many others, I was told that I would get a call 24-48 hours prior to delivery in order to set up a delivery time. In reality I got an automated call in the morning telling me my order would be delivered between 12.30pm and 4.30pm that day. No advance warning, just essentially "your order is on a truck and will be dropped off this afternoon". Luckily I was able to make it work, but YF needs to realize that for many that live in apartments or condos this lead time is especially crucial as we need to notify the building to reserve the service elevator. My building was understanding, but there are other buildings that might very well say "tough luck, they can't deliver without prior notice" They sent along an email with tracking info to let me know what stop I was along their route, and at what stop the truck was currently, which I found helpful and reassuring. The driver gave me a call about 15 minutes beforehand to let me know they were en route. My building's service entrance is at the rear of the building, and I had specifically put that in the delivery instructions when I purchased the appliances, but just to be sure I reiterated that to him over the phone; when the truck got there, they'd overshot it by a block, so he had to loop around a bunch of one-way streets (remember, the delivery is in Brooklyn), to get the truck parked in the right place. They unboxed everything on the street, which makes sense as there's more room and they don't have to contend with removing a bunch of packaging on their way out of the unit, however that meant that the bottoms of the appliances were then touching and scraping the asphalt out on the street; all that packaging is a pain, but it's there to protect the appliances. Everything ended up ok, but given I have a few grand sunk into these machines, you can understand why I'd be anxious about them getting scuffed and marred before they're even in my home. In terms of installation, things were 90% ok up until the point where they had to stack the dryer on top of the washer. There's a bracket that sits on top of the washer that the dryer is meant to slip into, I wasn't really watching closely, but they were kind of struggling to get things into place. They ended up brute-forcing it and announced it installed. I--not knowing what I don't know--said "great!" and sent them on their way. It wasn't until I wanted to test things out an hour later that I realized that the installation was waaaaaaay incorrect. To give you an idea, I have to reference the installation instructions from the manufacturer. (Yelp limits the length of reviews, so see the images for part 2 of this review)

It was scheduled to come on a Wednesday between 1-5, at 5:30 I gave them a call to see where the driver was. I was then informed by a rep that the driver had rescheduled my delivery to another day- with OUT calling me to verify. He has assumingely made this change at 4:45pm. How inconsiderate of him! When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that they went home for the day and I should expect a call back by 8am the next morning to have it rescheduled. Well no call ever came! When I called back the next day- I was told there were no supervisors "on the floor," so I would have to receive a call back. No call back ever came. I called a third time and the young lady looked up my reference number and placed me on hold just to hang up on me once I asked to speak to a supervisor. I called back 10 times (proof in my phone log!!!) with no answer! AS IF THEY BLOCKED MY NUMBER FROM BEIING PICKED UP!!!! They then continued to pick up my call and hang up without saying a word, three times! All the while, the automated system let me know that I was the only person in the queue. Truly saddening that a company would treat its clients in this manner. Very unprofessional, rude and childish. If they have no plans to deliver my item, they should let the company know so I can be refunded. Would NOT recommend. Not to mention that this lapse in delivery is running my company thousands of dollars daily as we wait because we can not finish renovations to the apartment complex until my items are delivered. As we know they will not take the liability for these damages to me and my company, but they can surely expect a suit to follow if this is prolonged, goes undelivered, and costs me an exuberant amount of money. Still awaiting my items and a call back. All in all, very unprofessional. DO NOT USE THEM.
