literally, the dumbest idea ever. pay 800$ to put your boxes in one large box that you have to pay $230 dollars for them to bring upto your apartment (how am I supposed to transport a box that is 5 feet by 4 feet by 5 feet??) and throw away. Wasting money. Total sham. I was told 2 weeks, and I wont be getting my stuff until almost 3 weeks. I actually cannot believe I paid these people a dime. These guys rock!!! They are amazing. They just moved my stuff from NYC to Seattle and they did it better and faster than expected. Everything arrived in EXCELLENT condition. They went above and beyond. I JUST unpacked my crate with the paintings that prompted me to use them over a regular mover in the first place and I can't overstate how much care went into packing them. They went the extra mile. Even the guy who delivered the pallets to me in Seattle said he could tell true professionals prepared my shipment. I wish someone had written a review on Yelp! before I found them, it would have put my mind at ease but I really had nothing to worry about. They were quick. I found out I had to move across country 2 days before Thanksgiving! The guy who first took my call was polite and followed up several times to help make sure I could start moving ASAP after the holiday. Then the guys who picked up my stuff were true professionals. Watching them pack my stuff for transport to the warehouse was a thing of beauty. And they were just nice guys on top of it all. Then the guys dealing with my paperwork and the timing of my delivery were equally as nice. I had to store my stuff for a fuzzy amount of time because of problems nailing down a move-in date in Seattle. It was not a problem, even though it was the holiday. My move in date got moved up so they had to trigger my move a week or two early, and they timed it perfectly to the day! I could not move in until a Saturday, they had my stuff in Seattle by the first Monday after I was allowed in my apartment!! (They did this perfect timing miracle starting my shipment the Friday before Christmas and seeing it go across country during the New Years holiday!! They kept me in the loop. They were clear about the storage charges and even gave me a courtesy call before charging my card, even though I knew it was coming. I cannot say anything but good about these folks, especially Christina! She was very patient with me and walked me thru all the options and was there to answer any silly question I had along the way. The team picked up an expensive piece of equipment from Brooklyn for me (since I was on the west coast ) and brought it back to their shop. There they made a custom, foam-lined crate for it and handled all the shipping for me. Everything went super well with these folks and it made buying something over the internet across the country very easy to do. I highly recommend these folks for crating and shipping. I had a very important shipment (okay they all are) for work which became a difficult one, with lots of changes to the pick-up time, expediting crate building time, and these aren't even the details. (Okay it's the holiday season, and this is Manhattan, ie gridlock season.) Kristen, in customer service, was great to work with, she literally took my blood pressure down in working with me to find best solutions. I will have no hesitation to try other Craters & Freighters now, I was referred to them by another shipping company we work with too, so it is known in the industry these folks are good. Wow! That's all I can say. I used Craters & Freighters, NYNJ to ship some paintings from NY to NV. It took a giant leap of faith to hand over my paintings for the long trip from NY to NV. But from start to finish, beginning with working with Ariel online to set up delivery (and to answer my many questions), my paintings were treated like they were their own. The guys came to pick them up when they said they would, packed them onsite, brought them to their warehouse and crated them for their trip to NV. I was very specific about when I needed them delivered and their counterpart, Craters & Freighters Las Vegas did not disappoint.
