I have an Etsy store and I rely on the USPS to pick up and deliver my packages…read more This was never a problem until I moved to Columbia. In one year, I have had mail sent to my neighbors, and I have received theirs. Most recently, they did not pick up my outgoing mail for two days. Now two days later, the package I shipped has not been entered into the tracking system. Now I am going to have to issue a refund. No problem there, it's not the customers fault the USPS cannot perform. My problem is the lack of accountability. No one is responsible. Mail gets picked up, or it doesn't. Packages get entered or they don't. There is no consistency. What was once a prideful example of America doing it's best, has turned into a circus sideshow. You cannot and should not trust the USPS to do the right thing.

But the clerks are invariably pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient. I've seems them with difficult or confused patrons and they are so patient and explain things over and over until people understand. We are very lucky to have these people.

I've used multiple plumbing companies in Columbia over twenty years and every single one did better work at a lower cost, and I didn't have to be insulted in the process. My mistake to think anyone was as good and honest and fair-priced as JB Plumbing.

Come for the Incompetence, Stay for the Abuse! Life looking up? Guys, did your gal sit in the lawn chair the whole time you were working on the car without going back inside because she "forgot to do something?" Gals, did your man go shoe shopping with you and actually make useful and directed suggestions? Did your boss approve the time off without giving you any grief at all? Don't let life tease you like that! Come on down to Tiger Station and let the horrible people there put your life back into balance through their sheer ineptitude and perniciously abusive behavior. After all, you're paying for it, you might as well get the most out of your metaphorical kick to the groin. Let me take time out to discuss one particularly "helpful" mensch, a woman I've come to know as "Foe." Foe isn't her real name, for to speak it wouldn't capture this long-haired, brunette's true nature. I call her Foe since she will in no way be your friend, and will, in fact, do everything she can to ensure that she creates the most adversarial encounter you'll probably have all month unless you're a meth dealer who cooks up in front of the local sheriff's office. Foe also happens to be the acronym formed by "face of evil," which is apropos of this Midwestern shrew. Foe is probably the woman almost everyone writes about who claims they interacted with a "rude" employee or who got hung up on, since that's apparently the gold standard of service at Satan's Armpit. What's great about Foe, judging from other reviews, is that she's an equal opportunity harpy who dolls out rudeness and unhelpful information to men and women, alike. She's also attracted the ire of foreigners. Thanks, Foe, for being an equal opportunity termagant who doesn't discriminate on sex, race, or nationality. You're a real peach, Foe, and I shudder to think what kind of a world we would live in without your graceful awfulness. Foe has hung up on me, been a B to me, and told me "whatever."
