I seldom write reviews. But was shocked to see so many negative reviews and was compelled to respond! I've lived in the Fresno/Clovis area for many years. Going to the post office is right up there with going to DMV! IN THOSE CITIES! Because in comparison, the interactions I've had with the Coarsegold post office has been top notch! The staff is professional and very helpful. They know their stuff and if there were any issues they were quick to resolve and were willing to go the extra mile and make phone calls on my behalf to resolve. Small town/mountain life has been amazing all the way around! INCLUDING DMV in Mariposa! I was naive to what a hidden gem mountain living could be and would have made the move YEARS ago had I known! I think mountain people just complain more. Anyone that used this Post Office and then has had to use the Post Office office in Fresno can honestly say there is no comparison. The team at pony express are helpful, friendly and there is usually not much of a line. If that's not worth five stars, then maybe you should stay off Yelp! read more

How about you answer your phone?? If you're not going to deliver to my mailbox, you're not going to attempt a redeliver, and you're not going to even give me all my mail when someone stops by, then pick up your phone so I can figure out what the issue is. I have to take 40 minutes of my work day to drive over there. I am actively losing money and risking my job to get over there because you refuse to do the job you're paid to do. read more

Everyone seems to enjoy bitching about today's level of "service". The Post Office gets slammed right and left from grumpy people in almost every community, large or small. How about THIS: If you have a specific complaint about someone, why not contain it to THAT issue and THAT specific person? We all know "Customer Service" has had a new meaning for years now. Personally, I have had issues with a few of the folks here over the last forty years...And I have had STELLAR service and attitudes from carriers and counter employees. Some of those times are because I wasn't in the right state of mind. Some of the times, because the system is strained. But, get this: How'd you like to drive to Oakhurst...or even Fresno to do your USPO business. Suggestion only: (I don't TELL people what I think they should do) Check your attitude at the P.O. door. Give yourself time to do your Coarsegold P.O. business in a friendly, neighborly manner. Gut up the mistakes or systems-oriented problems you have here, and count your lucky stars they are here to service our community. read more

Not one package I have ever had delivered by usps gets delivered, anything from a wallet to a small shoe shelf. These people can leave a note at my door saying "mailbox is full" even when I got mail the night before, or " too large to fit in truck" but i can lift and hold it with one hand. Tried calling and got put on hold for my entire hour long lunch break at work and still have no resolution, and their hours are so short I can't get there unless I lose more money taking off work. An absolute joke. good luck getting any of your packages if you work a regular job that's not in town. read more

It's very frustrating when packages aren't being delivered OR placed in assigned male boxes! I've had packages for other people placed in my mailbox and had to deliver them to the correct address MYSELF, I've had packages delivered and placed HALFWAY up my driveway in the dirt and again 3 of them were not mine and had to deliver them to the correct address that was miles from my address. I've tried calling the post office to get package update but have not been successful at reaching anyone... my packages said out for delivery on the 6th was supposed to be delivered on the 7th and has been forwarded to who know where because again I can't reach anyone at the post office and now it's a weekend. Please stop giving packages away to the wrong address! read more

This is my favorite post office! It's small, and over whelmed with stubborn old grouchy people ordering 1000's and 1000's of Amazon parcels and then they get mad that this little post office has a long line. Welcome to small town life people. If you don't like it, move back to los angles or the bay or whatever large urban area you moved here from. Morons. read more

Was supposed to have a package delivered, this office wouldn't deliver it bc there was no secure place to leave the package. I called and scheduled redelivery for the next day and authorized the mailman to leave it on the front my porch. The package never came on 9/2. read more

Horrible service, I have to drive an hour round trip to the post office because they can't do their job and deliver my packages. They said they attempted twice but they didn't, I requested they drop it off at my front door and they just don't deliver it instead. And hour drive every couple days is getting real old. Their hours don't help either considering they open after I start work and close before I get off making it almost impossible to go get my packages myself. Their lines are always out the door because nobody can do their job with deliveries so everyone's coming in. This place is ridiculous and could use new management ****update**** Hurried to the post office after work (I get off at 3:30, they closed at 4 and they're 30 minutes away) got there with a few minutes to spare and they tell me that my packages are already locked up and we're locked at 2 and they cannot get to them till tomorrow morning. RIDICULOUS. Going tomorrow AGAIN to pick it up. read more

It's a cute, small town post office. A little off the main road. They're closed for retail sales on Saturday but they still have staff there to answer questions and retrieve packages. It's kind of a strange arrangement but I guess it saves a couple bucks. read more

This place is an absolute joke. Apparently reading an address and placing mail in the correct box is too much to ask for. No matter how many times I've spoken to someone at the post office, it still happens. Why is this such a problem? It happens to my neighbors as well. Hire people with a work ethic and can read! So pathetic. And the employees that work inside are super rude and take their sweet time to help customers. read more

I GO TO WORK EVERY DAY AND DO MY JOB. WHY CANT THE COARSEGOLD USPS DO THEIRS? I have lived in Coarsegold for a year now and not once has the Coarsegold USPS office ever successfully delivered a package to my home. I have also lived in the local mountains all my life so I am very aware that postal services here can be slow/delayed for many reasons. But the Coarsegold office is exceptionally worse than any other location around... probably across the entire state. Sometimes I refuse to believe that they even go to the trouble of putting the package into their vehicle; they probably just leave it in the office and say "if he wants it bad enough he can come get it." I am one of many people in Indian Lakes who have this problem and many of us work 5 or 6 days a week so we have to take time off our jobs to go to the office and pick up the package. I'm sick of having to take time off from work to help these morons do their job. read more

The postal service here in Coarsegold is THE WORST. Literally anything i order online gets held at the post office and they only ever have Kelly at the front counter who is incredibly slow and lazy. The OIC (I didn't get her name) was incredibly rude and demeaning when i was explaining to her that if something fits in my mailbox I shouldn't have to come to the post office to pick it up. I work M-F 8-5 in Fresno as many do here and getting to the post office is incredibly inconvenient especially when the counter person doesn't want to help. The whole crew needs fired and start over with people interested in working in public service. read more

They are supposed to provide service to houses a half mile from the mailboxes and don't. I ordered online. They refuse to bring my parcel to the mailbox saying it's Madera's package so they don't have to. They are lazy and clueless. Every time I telephone them the line is busy. I suspect they take the phone off the hook so "customers" can't bother them. read more

This post office has the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I came here a couple years back and left in tears because of how rude the lady was to me. Today, I went back to pick up a package and again was lectured and belittled by the worker at the front. I have never wanted to avoid a place more in my life. They definitely need to have some sort of customer interaction training to better themselves. Absolutely horrible. Would not recommend using this post office. You are better off driving all the way to Oakhurst if you can make your transactions there. read more

US post office in Coarsegold delivery service has become a joke. The new delivery people either have no interest in doing their job or are totally lazy and there does not seem to be any accountability in the horrendous service residents are experiencing. Amazon should stop using the USPS for their delivery. They also lie about trying to deliver packages. How can a delivery attempt fail when the property has no gate or fence, there are no animals on the property and the property is clearly marked. The ring camera shows no activity from usps on the property. In the past they have thrown my packages in the driveway, sat in the van and honked their horn for me to come out of the house and walk to their van to pick up my package. Obviously walking 25 yards from their van to the front door is to far for them which account for his size. I pay Amazon for shipping, however I have to go to the post office to pick up my parcel (less than 3lbs and less than a square foot). If you cannot do your job then you should be fired. If you cannot run your business properly then sell it and move on!! read more

Always great service from the employees. If you have any questions they are always have the answer. If you have a pre-paid package just leave it on the counter and you are good to go. The lines get long at times, especially during the holiday and on mondays. Be prepared to be there 10-20 minutes if there is a line. I come here weekly and have had mostly good experiences. So happy there is a post office in coarsegold read more
