I hate that when there is a line, which is most of the time, people have to hold open the door between the cashiers and the rest of the P.O., and people have to squeeze by them to get out. Why not make a wider entrance? Would it really kill them to remodel? The ONLY saving grace is the automated postal center (APC) usually works and most people there don't know how to use it, meaning I can sneak in, buy my stamps or mail my package, and run out quickly. The people working there are no nicer or meaner than any other government employee. We all have good days and bad days. Did you know that if somebody dies and you present his or her DD-214 showing discharge from the military you can pick up a free full size American flag at the post office to be placed on the casket or in the columbarium, or for you to keep? Just one more thing the post office can do for you. As you leave and are turning back on to 82nd, there is a beautiful view of Mt. Hood. Check it out. And be careful, people drive really fast on 82nd and it's easy to get creamed.

While to many it may seem an outmoded form of communication, boy do you miss this service when it is gone. Suddenly a quick trip while on a grocery run became more of an ordeal trekking to Oregon City. Not only the distance, but that is a very busy location in the best of times. Last month, the post office opened at this new location on the hill in the Cascade Summit shopping center. It is enormous compared to its predecessor and painted in bright orange and blue hues and everything is spacious. In the old post office, you could barely fit three customers inside (pre-COVID). One thing to get used to is the drive-up/drop-off mailbox which is in the parking lot, not connected to the building. While they offer all of the standard and expected services, it does not appear that they are passport processing center yet. While they have standard business hours in the lobby, there appears to be 24 hour access to mailboxes. Although there was a lot of drama associated with the closure of the old location and selection of this new location, I am very happy to have a post office up and running in town.

I primarily use the store for printing. The print and go option they offer is easy to use. Black and white printing is significantly more affordable than color. But printing on my own is more affordable than having employee help. I haven't interacted much with staff, but my few interactions have been fine. I've also seen them help folks carry packages or hold open doors. It's never been too busy.

I was home and their attempt to deliver it can be summed up in them walking onto my porch, tapping the wall with my package (not the doorbell), and then turning and leaving within 3 seconds. I called for assistance or to file a complaint and they gave me the local number to this post office - told me to ask for the delivery supervisor and report it directly to them and request an urgent delivery. I called, repeatedly- the phone just rings and rings and then gets disconnected. Par for the course with this place. Zero integrity or customer service. The USPS should shut this one down and fire them all, I've seen zero redeeming moments about it. I'll continue to utilize other post offices as much as possible.
