No one likes going to the Post Office. Mailing a postcard is a few cents less than a First-Class stamp, but postcard stamps aren't sold anywhere besides the USPS, and I needed some for an election campaign I help with. One upside of buying stamps at the post office is that you can buy an odd number such as 30 or 45 without having leftover stamps. This branch has a self-service machine in the lobby, but it was out of order on a Tuesday on my lunch break. I don't think it was out of stamps... I do not think the machine was working at all. The line got pretty long, but thankfully a second clerk came in from her lunch break and helped get through the rush. Pack your patience if you must come here. read more

This post office was pretty much the standard post office. There was only one employee assisting customers with mailing parcels ect. There was a short line which moved fairly quickly with the exception of one customer that had 50 questions. They had a nice selection of stamps and parking out front. read more

It's a fairly small post office located within a strip center. During the holidays expect to stand in a very long line. I use the USPS app to schedule package pick up and also to track packages. You can also renew your postal box on the app as well. Basically I try to avoid going into the actual post office, because there can often be a line even outside of the holiday season because it's, a very tiny post office. The employees, however, are usually always very friendly and helpful. If you do need to call the local post office, make sure that you find the 843 number listed on their Yelp profile and not the 800 one because the latter will route you to a national call center. read more

This is a busy branch because it has a larger service area for its size but the staff is always courteous. Today I had a bit of a wait because I purchased postage from the automated system but the blade was full and did not cut or dispense part of my order, so I had to wait for the Clerk's window to open. This is the most inconsistent post office ever. The staff is friendly but I've had numerous packages lost and several I've had to go to the location to pick up when there was no valid reason for it not to be delivered to my mailbox. The line is always ridiculously long with only one person working the counter. They need to open both windows when the line is that long. It was especially annoying because I should never have had to pick up my package in the first place as it should have been delivered to my mailbox or parcel locker. read more

Acts of kindness mean more than you know. I've been sitting in an empty apartment for a week, having moved a thousand miles to Charleston only to have my moving company abscond with my belongings to who knows where. I've been dealing with the rental office screwing up the floorplan, one of my nasty new neighbors towing my rental car while I was moving in and leaving a mocking note on the windshield, and the sour faced Karen who lives below me who has been rude to me every single time I've crossed paths with her, logging into my work Zoom meetings from the floor of the kitchen. It's been a terrible week filled with lots of regrets for moving here. So I ordered a desk off Amazon and they shipped it via USPS. The day the desk was supposed to arrive I get one of those dreaded "Sorry we missed you" pink slips in the mail kiosk which translates into "we don't deliver big packages to the door". Monday I called the post office and THANKFULLY got Bob who explained for oversized packages people typically come in and pick them up. I explained I do not have a car and that it's just me and asked if the mail carrier could just drive it to the apartment and drop it on the ground and I'd get it up the stairs. Bob said he'd see what he could do and call me back. He called me back about an hour later and said he would just DRIVE the desk out to my apartment for me. That was the last thing I expected. Absolute nightmare. Never had a problem with any post office like this one. Unfortunately, I actually LIVE in this PO's coverage area. Dropped packages off in to the mail box outside this location and they got lost. Never even got scanned in to the system. It has been nearly a month and they claim they are too busy due to COVID. Let me repeat that: Dropped packages off in mailbox directly outside this location and a month later they are still not scanned into the system. They're too busy due to COVID. Also, never received a piece of jewelry I was to rec'v at Christmas, but merchant had a delivery confirmation, so I was out of luck. Several neighbor's have brought to me my mail that was delivered to them, but that piece of jewelry I ordered, well.. guess it went to a not-so-honest neighbor. This location is a nightmare. The one lady though nice is slow and today she spent 20 minutes with one man while she taped his packages filled out his forms etc. The other lady is always rude. Big hair big mean spirit to match. She actually takes pleasure in putting you down and being rude. Sad human being. What is worse is she has management scared of her. Her own managers will not even approach her. One day she is cutting my package open, the next day I have to step out of line to tape my package. A line I just spent 20 minutes in. In addition, she gives her special peeps tape but would not give me tape for the package I left open to avoid her cutting it open. Then offered priority tape but would not take the time to tell me how much priority would cost, all the time repeatedly telling me to step out of line. Horrible. My very important package was mailed to my business address with an incomplete address. My name and business name are similar, but could appear to be coincidental to most workers. My package was held by USPS due to INSUFFICIENT ADDRESS. It was EIGHT days before I remembered and had time to call Ashley River Station to ask if the packaged was still in Charleston somewhere. The phone was answered at the 2nd ring. A very well spoken male listened to my problem and asked a few questions. I gave the gazillion-digit tracking number, and waited on hold. After several ions on hold (maybe 90 secs), the clerk re-joined the call and stated "GOT IT". My package was at the bulk/box counter when I arrived. :) read more

My review pertains to the self serve postage machine in the lobby, as this was the purpose for my visit. I arrived around 5:20pm and this machine was still working and had not gone home for the day, so after waiting behind two people, five minutes at most, I was able to request stamps. The machine was very polite, asking what type of postage I required without giving me attitude for showing up at such a late hour. Payment options were provided, card was swiped, and I was politely given my stamps through a handy dispenser. I was happy to see that the stamps were the new Forever Charlie Brown stamps, and perhaps I'll pay this postage machine another visit tonight and up my review to 5 stars if I get some Snoopy stamps. read more

This is exactly what the other review 's stated. When I enter into this post office the line was triple before it actually got to the post office open window. I had to turn around because there was no way I would have to stand in that line to get taken care of. It's worth me going to another post office and taking a drive because this is utterly ridiculous. I just moved to this side of town and this place is a joke. The same 4 women are working every time I go in. I'm pretty sure they were trained by a Sloth. None of them have any concept of customer service. Believe me, It's better to just drive to the Post Office on Sycamore and sit in traffic then witness this. I'm pretty sure the lady giving me stamps counted to "5 Mississippi" in between counts. I honestly think they do this on purpose and laugh about it later - they can't ALL really be that slow. This post office needs a lot of work done on employees. Went in to let them know my mail is not being picked up. Was sent to a closed door and waited to no avail. Employees were laughing about it. Just had one of the worst customer service experience of my life at this location. I have been working with bulk mail on some odd sized letters that are non-machinable. I brought them in with a note from the bulk mail office authorizing them to go at a certain rate etc. "Dave" at the desk immediately began to argue with me. I attempted to show him my authorization note from bulk mail but he would not listen. Then the elderly female employee at the end of the desk jumped all over me . At this point I can visibly upset. I finally convinced Dave to call bulk mail. He was standing 2 feet away from me, making fun of me to the bulk mail employee on the phone. When she finally told him that I was right, he raised his voice with her!! He came back to tell he was able to mail them, but he made me feel as if I work putting him out and causing him inconvenience as if I were doing something wrong. Around Akley, this man is my neighbor and the reason that I have been going to the post office for years because I always figured if I had any problems maybe he would help me out. He did not recognize me today and when I reminded him of who I was, I hope that he was barest and ashamed for his condescending and hostile attitude. I live in a condo complex and on Sunday found about 8 packages piled in front of our clubhouse. The packages were clearly marked with the individual addresses of each condo owner. Some delivery person decided to make their job easier by piling the packages in one place rather than delivering them to individual addresses. I've tried to call The Ashley River Road post office several times- this phone access is a joke- the phone rings endlessly with no pick up and no way to leave a message. Worst service ever. Shining stars. Shaun, usually works counter and mike are extremely helpful. I have had multiple issues with lost packages. When I talk to office manager, she is rude. I even reported her to her regional. Next time I called with an issue, she even stated "You're the one who reported me to my boss. How dare you" then hung up. I drive 4 miles away to the other office and set up a post office box there even though I live a quarter mile from this one. I hope it goes out of business! Wish I could give 0 stars! read more
